Rescue Me has been a wonderful success for us. We get so many 'hits' for our dogs. Most recently this sweet boy, Roscoe, found the perfect home. He is now in a wonderful home where he gets walked every day and has a new buddy named Charlie.

i looked up several organizations to post Zeus when I realized he would need a new home because he did not get along with one of his doggy housemates. I was very concerned that Zeus finds a loving home, but I did not want to forego a screening process in order to place him quickly. To my pleasant surprise, I started receiving inquiries about Zeus very shortly after posting him on Rescue Me. Not all of them seemed serious about having Zeus as a family pet, but enough were that I was encouraged that he would find a caring home. I did request that interested persons complete a simple information form with basic info such as whether they had other dogs and a vet, etc.. This made it easier for me to concentrate on people who were willing to put some effort into finding the right match for their family. I eventually placed him with a person who was very interested in providing him a happy home and who was determined to make the adoption a success by hiring a trainer to help him acclimate to his new surroundings. So far so good. It has been four weeks, and the last message from the new owner was that he was settling in nicely. Thank you, Rescue Me!

I had been looking for a home for my Vinnie, Pit Bull. My daughter and I moved in to help my elderly parents while they are dealing with cancer, early Alzheimer's and limited eyesight, along with balance issues, and I work full time and was having surgery myself. After six months of looking to find him a good and loving home by various means, I was told about your site. It is not easy finding a good home for my baby. He's a 70 pound, happy lap dog with a small dog as a best friend. He deserved better than we were able to provide. After only a few weeks, Katie messaged me. She and her father fell in love and Vinnie now is in a happy new loving (spoiled) home. She sends pictures of how well he is adjusting and it makes me so happy. Thank you, Rescue Me. It got my baby the home and family he deserves. Sincerely, Keri

Thank you, Rescue Me. I had been looking for an ESA (Emotional Support Animal). I saw Gracie and I knew she was the one that I wanted and needed. I read her profile and it broke my heart. She had been rescued by an amazing couple that nursed her back to health. She had been abused, neglected and starved. I knew not only would I be rescuing her, but she would be rescuing me too. I just wanted to say thank you to the amazing couple that gave her a safe haven.

Our much loved Welsh Corgi died last June, and it has taken several months before I was ready to look for our new dog. After almost a month on various websites, I found the sweetest face looking back at me. It was Earnest! She is a Corgi mix with eyes to melt the heart. I filled out the application and waited for someone to contact me. Jess called, we chatted, and worked out the arrangement to meet. When we met, it was raining, Earnest had just been spayed and was very subdued, but still very sweet and mellow. When I got her home and carried her in the house, my husband fell in love! We all fell in love with this lovely, affectionate, cooperative dog. We have all said that her previous owner must have loved her into being, and Jess, her foster mother, made her an adjustable, cheerful dog. We are so glad we found each other! Thank you, Rescue Me!

It will be one month tomorrow since we adopted Tanner. I can't say enough about how great he is. We are taking him to puppy classes and the instructor thinks he is just wonderful. (She wanted to know where we got him so she could try to get one as good as him.) He is a puppy and does chew, but he has not damaged our house when left alone and just loves to go on rides in our side by side. We take him everywhere we can and so far, even gunfire hasn't bothered him. He loves to watch our horses and the neighborhood deer, but we do keep him in the yard so he won't be tempted to chase them. Tanner and I walk at least three miles a day and I can't wear him out! Thank you so much, Rescue Me, for helping us and many more like us to find happiness!

I am very happy to say that we got a call from a man saying he saw a black dog in a school yard, so we rushed there immediately. It was Bane, he was skinny and scared. He saw my daughter and ran to her, we all started crying. He is back home with us, thank you for all your help and prayers, Rescue Me!

Bandit was having a hard time living in the kennels. He is young and has a lot of energy. We were trying to get him out to run around more than normal and had him in the back building where it is generally more quiet. Then a young man walked into our office on a day we were closed and close to the time for all the staff to leave for the day saying he was looking for a dog. I asked the young man what kind of dog he wanted and he said a dog to be his best friend. I asked what he did most of the time and he said he ran marathons and hiked a lot. I immediately told him about Bandit. The young man said that sounded like just what he wanted. Even though we were ready to leave I had a teammate bring Bandit out to meet this young man. Bandit loved him and the young man loved Bandit!! The young man lived with his father and I told him his father must come and meet Bandit as well. His father was there the next day, met Bandit and they loved each other too!!! Bandit has gone home with his IDEAL owner! Thank you, Rescue Me!

Willow rescued us. She loves as much love and affection she can get. She is very smart and most of the time she minds well. It was over 3 years before she would not take off if the front door was open. She would run down the street and ignore us calling her. We would have to get in the car and go after her. Open the door, call her, and she would jump right in. She loves car rides. She has one quirk that we cannot figure how it started. If you tell her to go outside, she stares at you. If you try and force her, she becomes dead weight. If you walk out with her, she will go. If you open the door and walk away, she goes out. She has a very strong reaction to fireworks, tires that blowout on the freeway behind us, and any sharp, short noise. She tries to melt into you and she just vibrates once you hold her. She now has a sister that's six months older than her. They mostly get along great. Bella loves to play. I think Willow is learning to play. It is so sad that she didn't know how to play when she was a year old. She is still unsure of people, but she's getting better. We love her so much. We've always had 'talkers' and her daddy is teaching her to talk. I'm so glad we found her. Thank you, Rescue Me!

I had an owner surrender a pair of older dogs, a Weimaraner and a Black Lab, due to a move and new living arrangements. It was promised to the owner that I would place these boys together. It became a huge challenge to get anyone to want two other very large dogs. I posted them on Rescue Me and found the BEST home for them..and they will remain forever TOGETHER!!! They even have visitation rights with the previous owner. Without this site, they may have been overlooked or had to be separated. Thank you, Rescue Me!!!!

Mac had a very rough life and with his PTSD and anxiety was very hard. The absolute perfect family contacted me. Fenced in yard, older kids, and experience with troubled Pit Bulls. Unfortunately, Mac did not adjust well and ended up having a pretty severe incident. Despite it all, she fought to have him returned, got him on medication and hired an animal behaviorist. I'm happy that he was placed with her and was given yet a third chance. I feel like if it was anyone or anywhere else he would've been put to sleep. Now he can finally live out his days being loved and getting the extra care he needed. Thank you, Rescue Me!

The Purr de Leash Project is just officially getting on the map and we ended up with a female Husky/German Shepherd. She is a beautiful two year old that was owner surrendered due to making her love 24/7 outside in the Texas weather and no time for training or caring for her properly. We stepped up to help and what an adventure it was for us! Lots of love, training and chaos with her, but she finally, after many applications, found the perfect home knowing she needed love and training still to come. We initially posted here for rescues only. After no help, we posted her for adoption in hopes of finding the right home that understands Huskies. Especially since the Hunley was more Husky than a German Shepherd. We succeeded in finding the right home with a family that knows the breed and their escape antics, as well the working class dog they are to give them purpose. We at The Purr de Leash Project are thankful to have Rescue Me to help find loving forever homes. Thank You!!!      Sophie found the most amazing family and I can't thank them enough for how they have welcomed her into their home. We're blessed to have found them and so very happy that Sophie is being spoiled. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Thank you, Rescue Me! Little Bella has been adopted. She now lives in a big house with a big yard, a big swimming pool and LOTS of love. She has a sister, Maggie, who is a big Labrador. Maggie has taught Bella not to be afraid anymore. The two of them are inseparable. They eat together, sleep together, play together go swimming together and then at night they go sleep with Mom in her big bed. I had a lot of wonderful people contact me through Rescue Me. Thank you! I had been warned that there ARE bad people out there who pretend to be good so that they can adopt these animals to harm them. You might want to warn people and advise them to be extra careful about who adopts. Ask questions, screen, go to the home and examine it and try to get a sense for the adopters while you are at it. If there is anything you don't like, don't do it. Wait till you find someone good. You can never be too careful these days. The little animals are completely helpless and it is our responsibility to make sure they are safe and loved and fed and warm and well taken care of. Thanks again, Rescue Me! You truly make the world a better place!

I posted my dog for adoption on Rescue Me and got a reply that evening for adoption possibility. We talked on the phone and arranged meeting few days later. The home and the family were perfect for my dog. We spent around two hours with the family. Even though we planned to come back later, we ended up leaving our dog with a new family that night. We kept in touch that evening and next day. We took the rest of the dog's belongings, medical and health records next day to her new home. The dog and her new family looked very happy. I am so excited for a new life for my dog. Thank you Rescue Me, for a great help to connect us with the perfect family.

My family and I are moving and felt it wouldn't be right to take our young, healthy, active dog to a small home with no place to run. So we posted him on Rescue Me, with the site being known and people actively looking to home beautiful animals like ours. A young couple did come through with open arms for him. He took to them and their daughter. It was surprising yet at the same time a huge relief. I saw the love, patience and understanding they have for his breed. They have another like him at home. So letting him go was a bit easier after seeing that. Thank you Rescue Me for helping us home our Husky.

Over the next two weeks we were able to get Boud out to his new home to live the perfect Cattle Dog life. Boudleaux will always be grateful to Rescue Me for getting him out to the country and into his furever home.

My Jack Russell mix became dominant with my smaller female dog. It was very difficult for me to rehome her with her additional challenges of being fearful of strangers, children and incompatible with some dogs. Thanks to Rescue Me and other organizations that forwarded her profile I truly feel she is in an even better home than I could provide for her. She now has two loving adults with only adult children and no other dogs to share with. Her new mom was looking for a walking companion and she has a large fenced in yard and sleeps in the bed I'm told. They also keep in touch on FB and give me reports of her progress. Thanks, Rescue Me, for finding the perfect match for my baby!

We adopted Chester from Joanne after we lost our beloved Chocolate Lab, Ranger, after having him for 15 years. This little guy is one of the nicest dogs we've ever had and we have owned lots of dogs over the last 50 years. He has filled a big empty spot in our lives. He is 10 months old and has found his forever home right here with us. We have always taken excellent care of our dogs and spared no expense when it comes to their health and well being, and it will be exactly the same with Chester. The hardest part was leaving Joanne's home with him because we knew how hard it was for her to give him up. She had reached the point in life where she felt she could no longer give him the care she thought he needed, and had the strength and courage to transfer him to someone who could. Her dog's wellbeing was very important to her. She has an open invitation to come visit him any time. We would not have found Joanne or Chester without Rescue Me and very much appreciate your website. Larry and Mary LeFever

Having to re-home a pet is a heartbreaking process and one that I hope no one has to go through. While you may think that it will never happen to you, sometimes it is in the best interests of the family and pet. Unfortunately I did have to go through this process and thanks to Rescue Me I was able to find the best possible home for my Oliver. After meeting with the new family and seeing how much they love and spoil their dogs (and how much my little guy loved them immediately), I knew I was doing the right thing. Although I am still sad, I know I have done what is best for Oliver. Thank you so much to Rescue Me for providing this service to rescue groups and individuals.

We just couldn't keep here as we are never home and didn't have a big place for her to run. She found her forever home on a big farm. She seems happy and adjusted well.      The day that I found Coco and Monakee on Rescue Me was a great day!!! We have a love affair with Doxies and were not deterred from taking on two at a time. They are eight and ten years old but you would not know it. It has been a month now and they are adjusting well as are we. i did not realize how much we missed having the little hot dogs in our lives. I micro chipped both dogs yesterday because Monakee has gotten out of our yard a couple of times now. She is not good about coming to your command. I hope to take them on a long trip soon as they both love going for a ride. I could not be happier that we were able to give them a loving home and look forward to many years together.      Thank you, Rescue Me! I was browsing female dogs on Rescue Me, when I saw the sweet tiny face of Missy. She is a long hair Chihuahua and needed a new home. How could I resist? She was very hesitant and nervous, but after a while I took her to the car and brought her home. She was scared and nervous, but we made it home safely. She got along well with our other dogs, but not me or my family. I got her on Monday and she wouldn't warm up until Saturday. She now comes to me and lets me hold her. Unless I am holding her, no one else can pet her yet. Patience is the key to getting her settled into a new home. She is very sweet and loving so I am not one bit sorry for adopting her. Thank you so much for offering your services.

ItyBit was small in size, but HUGE in personality. She was found wandering into rush hour traffic. Signs were put up with her picture, an ad was placed with a locating pet service, I went door to door in the neighborhood near where I found her and asked everyone I could in the shopping center near where she was found. No collar, no chip, no anything but about a pound and a half of pure sweet doggie devotion. I have three dogs who have been rescued and now have a permanent home with me. A fourth, even her size, was out of the question. You may know the kind of battle: head and pocket book against heart and desires. I prayed for a good, permanent home for her and a friend suggested posting on Rescue Me. Three days later we were on our way to Arizona from Nevada to meet a couple very interested in her. It was love at first sight. It's kind of strange how a home can feel empty even with it is full of dogs and people, but that's exactly how it felt returning home without her. Fortunately, her new family loves her and sends pictures of her and them together so everyone is happy now. I thank God for Rescue Me and all they do to help animals that fall on unfortunate times. Our world is a better place because of them.

Marmalade was adopted by a fabulous owner, Holly. Exactly three months after she was found shivering and frail on our front door step. She has come over for a visit since and I still keep in touch with both of them. Holly sent me a gorgeous Christmas card of a very blessed dog and her forever Mom that I would be more than happy to share on your website. Thank you for everything, Rescue Me!

I have been looking for a young Chihuahua. I came across the Rescue Me website. When I saw PeeWee's photo, I thought, well, he's not a young Chihuahua but an adult. I would constantly go back to his picture, reading about him. I sent an e-mail to Samantha saying I was interested in PeeWee. She e-mailed back and told me all about him, how he was attacked by a large dog and picked up by Animal Control. They contacted the owners and they couldn't afford his medical bills so they surrendered him. He has found his furever home with me! Samantha the foster mom would send me pictures and a video. He likes to wear sweaters- so cute. The home visit was absolutely delightful. I was going to see and hold PeeWee. Since then we have gotten to know each other and that started the first day with the help from the foster mom Samantha. PeeWee is so sweet. Doesn't bark much like Chihuahuas do, but only at another dogs. He sure is special and what a match! Thank you so much for sending me alerts. The day his picture came up was the day I sent my e-mail.

Thank you to Rescue Me for helping a wonderful dog find a wonderful family today! We picked up a gorgeous German Shepherd at a roadside gas station late at night in a snow storm and we brought him home. He seemed to have been abandoned, and he had no micro-chip. Since we have two dogs already, we weren't in a great position to take him in for good. We bought him a kennel and kept him for a couple days, playing with him tons and giving him a nice bath. Within hours of posting him for adoption on this site, I had several inquiries via email! The adopters came today to check him out, and they seem to be a great match. They feel so blessed by this rescue site. This is a terrific website for matching pets to owners!

My dad's dog, Yoshi, was his world. When he passed away last week, we began what we thought was going to be a daunting task of getting his dog adopted. It was important to us that Yoshi goes to a good family, not just anyone. A big thank you to Rescue Me for making it quick and simple. We had several takers, all of which showed genuine interest in giving Yoshi a good home. Thank you to the wonderful family who adopted her. Knowing she is being well cared for and loved makes loosing our father a bit less painful.

I placed our Yorkie-Poo on the Rescue Me website on Thursday night and immediately starting getting calls, texts and emails. Not only did the speed in which these messages came in surprise, but they came from cities within our area-- Amazing. Everyone seemed to really want a mature dog for all the right reasons, which made making this incredibly difficult decision a little easier. Ozzy now has a new home with a younger sister Yorkie Poo to play with a new 'mom' who is home often and truly seems to love her furry 'children'! And, she has told us that we can come and visit and Ozzy can come to us for visits as well. He has only been with her a couple of nights and a day, but we have gotten update texts and everything seems to be going well. Thank you to everyone who wanted to give Ozzy a new home and especially for his new family. Rescue Me is an amazing website.

This sweet little beagle pup was rescued by some great people. They called me a week ago and asked if she was still available and I said yes. They drove almost two hours to come see her, and 'Lady' went right to them. They took her home and they have been sending me pics and videos of how well she is doing. He told me his wife absolutely loves her. I'm so happy that this couple is happy with her and she seems happy with her new family. I have never used Rescue Me before, but would definitely recommend it to anyone who asks.

My husband, Tim, and I had been wanting another dog. I wasn't sure what kind, but then I started off making a list of practical issues we required in our next furbaby. Number one a small dog but not too tiny, around 20-30 pounds. No going to the groomers, I know how to bathe, clip nails and clean ears. Must get along with cats. I looked at my local pound sites, nothing. Then it occurred to me, another Beagle!! We loved our first dog together! Something told me to google Beagle Rescues, I found this site! I saw a Beagle named Luke, who was about two years old. I submitted my request. His owner got back to me, we had several emails daily answering my questions. Finally, I just sent her a list of references. We picked our 'Lukie' up! He had lived with cats before, my cats were not all hissing, this is gonna work!! He has settled right in, we love him so much! He chose my husband as 'his' person. He gets walks daily, playtime, lots of loving!! He plays with our cats! One happy pack family!! Thank you, Rescue Me!!

The decision to put our pet up for adoption was very difficult. With tears flowing, I searched for help on the internet and found Rescue Me. The process was simple! I thought 'maybe too simple' and that it might not provide any results. To my surprise, within hours of posting to the website, I received my first call. The next day, another call! After interviewing the person, I felt it was a very good match. I wasn't going to let her go to just anyone. I wanted someone whose lifestyle best fit the dog's personality. After Lady and I met Mr. Right, it only took a few minutes to know we had found a great new home. More tears flowing as I said a final goodbye. My dream of finding a 'better home' was realized. I can highly recommend Rescue Me! But I suggest you take along a box of tissue too! Thank you, Rescue Me!

We decided to wait a bit to adopt a Siberian Husky and I unsubscribed to Rescue Me. However, the next morning there was a rescue email and we looked at the first dog on the list and the rest is history. The owner, who was moving out of state and had to find a good home for her beloved dog, returned our call. A couple hours later she brought the dog here for a visit and she and our other dog, a Husky Mix, got along beautifully. We immediately fell in love with her. Previously (for 12 years) we had a Siberian Husky with blue eyes and our new baby also has blue eyes. It was two days before the owner could contact our vet and it seemed like the longest weekend ever. She comes from an excellent home and is well mannered, sweet tempered, beautiful, and we all love her very much. That is her picture above this letter. Thank you to Rescue Me and to Barbara. -Patrick and Donna Marlow

As a Comedian, for well over 10 years, there's nothing funny about an animal having to find a new family after loosing the one that they believed was going to be forever. I can't express the support that this site has provided me in regards to finding homes for these animals. Usually, I would use social media and/or rescue resources that I've acquired over the years. I've received just as many inquiries through Rescue Me as I would have the old school conventional way. Jackson came to me with a surrender deadline of only a week to find a home. A willing adopter was found the day before Jackson was supposed to be surrendered... Whew! For me, searching for homes for animals is like a comedy career, you'll probably find more failures than success within your efforts as I'm sure most people and rescues on this site would agree. This forum gives us that extra resource to increase the probability of actually finding a home and eliminate, at least, some burden. I, again, can't thank the creator of this site and the supporters enough for their help and willingness to care. -Andre Gatling

My little Lois was on death row when I adopted her. The rescue group gave me incorrect information about her age and energy level. I soon realized she was not going to be happy in a condo environment. I was contacted by a local lady. She had just lost a dog to cancer and wanted to adopt Lois. We met and spent a couple of hours visiting and easing Lois into the transition. It broke my heart to give her up, but her new life had much more to offer. She now has two other dogs to hang out with, she is never crated, has a doggy door to come and go as she wishes, a large fenced yard, lives on nine acres. Her new mom gets in a golf cart every night and runs the dogs. She is the happiest when she runs and can outrun the golf cart. She has not only gained a wonderful home, but I have gained a good friend. We talk a couple of times a week, she sends pictures and updates on food, health, and training. I plan on visiting them very soon. This dog and I have hit the jackpot. Although I miss her every day, I feel very good about my decision and would do it again. Thanks, Rescue Me!

I got her for my little Shitz Tsu that I rescued about four months ago. They get along great and like laying in their beds together. I think Susie Q had been through a lot before she was rescued. She will never have to go through anything again. She will get groomed, fed, and all the medical attention she needs from me. I love her and will protect her forever! I did rename her Maggie. Susie Q is in her forever home and doing great. Thank you, Rescue Me!

I met my first Staffordshire Bull Terrier in 1986. He was registered with the AKC and was imported from England. He was red and white. He became an AKC Grand Champion. He loved people, but adored children the most. The breed is loyal, loving, playful (comical in many ways), and the best companion type. Staffy's are tough, solidly built, and have very few, if any, health problems. He blessed us with 15 1/2 years of love. I obtained another Staffy from the same breeder and he was a grandson of my original dog and he went on to become an AKC Champion also. I had him for almost 16 years. After he passed away, I started looking for another Staffordshire Bull Terrier. I was exploring online and came across this website. I could see that most of the dogs shown were mixed breeds with Staffordshire, Pit Bull, etc. and I became very concerned that many of these sweet temperament animals were having a difficult time being adopted because of many factors: misunderstanding of the breed's characteristics, age, and circumstances. I found a five year old male Staffy type that was mixed with a Pit Bull. I called and spoke with the owner. After asking many questions, I made arrangements to meet. It was instant love at first sight. I had my other dog (Jack Russell) along with me to see if they would be compatible. They gave each other the sniff test and started playing. It was the best decision I made and I took the new dog home. I know he will have the best years of his life in his new home. It has worked out beautifully! The two dogs get along and I have two great dogs to live and spoil! Thank you for everything, Rescue Me!

Gracie is a beautiful, chocolate and white blue nose. She has developed an amazing personality and a lot of traits of Sugar. I believe Sugar's spirit went into her. Gracie is a playful baby. We have about a half acre fenced back yard for her to romp in romp she does. She is full of energy and life, but it's time to rest she thinks she is a five pound lap dog. She loves to cuddle and give kisses. She is good with anyone that comes around. She wants them to play with her. She is truly an amazing dog, and I don't know what I'd do without her.
