Due to significant health issues, my family and I had to find a new home for our beloved Papillons. We were heartbroken. Through Rescue Me! we were able to find the perfect home for them on our terms. We were able to screen emails, and follow up with individuals that were possible forever homes. Through this process we were able to find the exact perfect match for KC and Gizmo. We are truly grateful for their new mom, a devoted pap and animal lover, she truly was an answer to prayers. Thank you for your commitment to animal rescue; we are forever grateful for the services of Rescue Me! The Carver Family

I posted my shepherd on this website and soon began receiving calls. The family that got him were eager to meet him and came out to see him. The thing that was important to us was that he took to them immediately. They have sent us pics of him and say that he is adapting well. Thank You.

Our posting could not have reached this family without you. We are so thrilled, and overjoyed. Forever indebted and grateful. Megan

We had several life changes that made it difficult for us to properly love Baron. I posted him on Rescue Me! really late one night and had three responses in less than 18 hours. I am confident he will be happy and greatly loved by his new owners. The new owner and I are now Facebook friends and text each other! So, I'll be able to 'visit' him even though he is many miles away. Thanks, Rescue Me!

Charlie got adopted by a wonderful couple... He has a beautiful new home and fenced in backyard. He has discovered that he loves watching TV and laying in front of the fireplace. We are so happy for him and for his new people. We miss him a lot but he deserved his wonderful new life. Thank you so much Rescue Me! for helping him find his forever home.

I was looking for a playmate for my other male dog, Buddy, who is about 5 years old. I spotted Candy on your website and thought the two would make a great pair. She has learned many things already from Buddy and a few more things he doesn't know or do. We are very happy with Candy and the two play and run together like old friends. Candy has met other dogs on our daily walks and seems to be very friendly to all those she meets. Thank you for putting me in touch to place her in our home. She seems to be very happy to be sharing her new life with us.

I heard from a girl who wanted to meet Daisy. They met last night and everything went so well, Daisy went home with her. Already got an update on her, too. Daisy loves her home, she has another dog to play with, and a lot of love from the girls. I'm happy Daisy is already doing great with the adoption.

Andy found a new home thanks to Rescue Me! What a great resource for owners needing to find someone to love their dogs. Several potential adopters contacted me within the first few days. Andy is heading to live with a new mom and teenage brother. It is hard to give up a beloved pet, but I think I have made a decision that will give Andy a happier life. Thank you, Rescue Me!

I loved having the rescue alerts. There are so many beautiful American Bulldogs that come through here and wish I could have them all. I've been looking since late last summer. I saw this little girl and immediately contacted her owner. He replied right away. I told him about ourselves and our pets, and that we had a 1/2 acre lot for her to run around in. He agreed to meet halfway. He did have others interested, but had promised us and worked out a place and time. This gentleman was fantastic. What he wanted was a good home for her, and we will give it to her. We are so happy with our new addition to our family. Thanks to Rescue Me's American Bulldog Rescue. Lola

Thank you for allowing me to post Ophie's info for her to go to a new home. The response was overwhelming. She will have another bloodhound sister and her new family has lots of room for her to run, and they own a feed store - so they will for sure be able to handle her appetite! There were a lot of nice people interested in her, so we had to choose the home we felt would be the best for Ophie - and we believe we have done that. Thank you all for your interest!

I was contacted by many people interested in my dog Zoey. After filtering the emails and talking with several people, I knew Laura was going to be the one for Zoey. I met up with Laura and her boyfriend and knew it was going to work out. I know in my heart after meeting Laura that she will give her a great home with all the love and attention Zoey needs. Zoey was sharing my house with 10 cats, 8 indoor and 2 outdoor. I'm sad that I had to give her away but it is for the best and it was hard to do this as I've never had to give away a pet that I loved. However, I am getting older and taking care of all these animals, also have a bird and a tank full of fish, takes a lot of work. I am very happy that Zoey will be in a home where she can be the focus and princess that she is. I will always love Zoey and will cherish our memories, and know she will be loved by Laura and make new memories in her new home.

Delgado was rescued by us at our neighborhood dog park. After getting him healthy and vaccinated we put him up for adoption on Rescue Me! We didn't require any money because we helped him out of the kindness of our hearts. The family that has him now has a great lake to take him to with doggie parties, and plenty of love with their daughter. I am so happy Rescue Me! helped us find a great home for this wonderful pooch.

I am a retired teacher in Mountain Home, ID and I take in dogs that need to be re-homed from the local shelters or from private parties. I started doing this a few years ago after I had to part with my poodle, Lambchop, who had been with me for 23 1/2 years. Hailey has been very popular and quickly found her new home with a family thrilled to have her. Her wonderful personality won over a great family within a day of the post coming out. I had many calls on her, and when I had to tell people she was gone, they asked about others I had gotten since placing her post. Two more little girls (a yorkie mix and a chihuahua mix) were re-homed as well. Thank you for the opportunity to let people know these great dogs are available. Judging from the number of calls I got, there are a lot of people who use Rescue Me! when they start looking for a new family member.

Last year I found Beauregard 'Beau' - an Australian Cattle Dog / Australian Shepherd mix - on Rescue Me! He'd been rescued from the shelter by a family, but he wasn't getting along with their existing dog, so he needed another home. Beau's foster family posted him on Rescue Me!, and they were great about providing very complete and honest information and arranging a meeting. They had trained him well while fostering him, which I'm very grateful for. Beau rapidly became my best friend, running and hiking buddy, and general 'shadow'. And my then boyfriend's (now husband's) dog loves him; they're true 'brothers' - playing, arguing, and missing each other when apart. Beau and I have been inseparable for almost a year now. His 'birthday' is next week, which prompted me to finally write this review. The thing I like best about Rescue Me! is the ability to search by breed. My previous dog, Toby, was an Australian Cattle Dog mix, so I hoped another dog of the same breed would also be compatible with my lifestyle. I also appreciate that the people posting on Rescue Me! are generally able to provide great information about the animals, leading to a more likely successful match. I mean it in the most sincere way when I say thank you, Rescue Me!, for helping me find my best friend! - Jane

I have been looking for a pekingese for only a short time... we lost our 13 year old last summer, and was only recently ready to open our hearts and home to another precious one. I received notification from Rescue Me! that a little one near my town was looking for a new home. I was able to contact the owner immediately and make arrangements to see Panda... or let her see me! She is the sweetest little thing ever! Her owner did such a wonderful job with her and I know was devastated to have to give her up. I feel I made an instant friend with both the owner and Panda! We live near each other so planning to take Panda to see her Mom, once Mom and Panda are settled into their new homes. Panda has brought such joy back into our lives and she has a brother pekingese and sister shi-tzu mix, both adopted, that love her just as much. She has fit in here beautifully, and we have fit into her life as well. She will continue to be well loved and we are ecstatic to have found her! Thank you for all Rescue Me! does, as there is no way way we would have connected even living 30 miles away!

I had been fostering Raven from a local shelter for six months. I'd participated in a few local dog walks, and posted her on Facebook sites hoping to find her a home. She was a such a sweet girl, and while I loved having her, I knew it was only fair to find her a permanent residence. I came across RescueMe.Org and posted her. About two weeks later, I received an inquiry about her. I was able to meet with this person a couple days later, and he loved her! I will be taking her to her new home tomorrow.

We adopted Burton for two reasons. First, we have a Siberian Husky, that has the same coloring and markings as Burton. We really like the look of our Husky, Duke. As many of you probably know, they are pack dogs, and due to that, Duke needed a friend. We started our search on the adoption sites, hoping to find a suitable friend for Duke. When I went to Rescue Me!, I saw Burton. Burton seamed like a perfect fit for our Duke. Thanks to Brittany and her family for allowing us to add Burton to our family!

She is now in her forever home and has the life of love and luxury she deserves. Thank you, Rescue Me!

I had been looking for a few months to find the right Shih Tzu for my parents who just less than 6 months ago lost there Shih Tzu to illness. My parents did not want another breed, it had to be a Shih Tzu. They did not want to raise a puppy, as the puppy could outlive them. My search for a Shih Tzu was a long and sad road until I found Rescue Me! I immediately e-mailed the owner of Dolice, and he answered my e-mail within the hour. In the meantime I forwarded the photo of Dolice to my parents and they knew right away that she was the dog for them. I reassured the prior owner Dolice would be an only child. Yes, I did say child, as my parents will treat this dog just like a child. Dolice, you are in good hands. You will be treated like a Queen. My experience with Rescue Me! was wonderful, I just wish I had found it sooner. Thanks to Mr. Gold for adding tips to get the dog we wanted. One tip was to act fast, and glad I did act fast, as the owner had just put Dolice on this site one hour before I called. So my suggestion to new people who are looking for that perfect dog, act fast, do not wait... Thanks to all who had a part in getting this sweet baby to my parents. Teresa

I received no less than 25 inquires in less than 24 hours since posting my sweet Kiwi on Rescue Me! Each and every person I spoke with had owned a Corgi in the past or currently owned a Corgi. I narrowed the list down to three potential families, and am happy to report that she was adopted by my first choice family. I chose a couple that had lost their 13 year old Corgi last February, and who had no other pets. Kiwi's new Dad is in full remission from cancer treatments last year and is also recently retired. He and Kiwi are going to be wonderful companions to each other and become great buddies. She will be the #1 VIP in her new home. She's a lucky girl and I couldn't be more excited for her and her new family. Thanks so much to Rescue Me! and to Bonnie for the assistance and guidance in helping Kiwi to find her new fur-ever home.

I had these beautiful girls since they were babies and fell upon financial problems. I came across Rescue Me! and I am so glad I did. There were so many wonderful people who called about my girls and I had a very hard time in making a decision. I really wanted someone who stayed home and would fuss over them and love them as much as I do. I do believe I have found that person. I met a wonderful lady who lost her husband, and these girls are a true blessing to her now. She now has two beautiful girls to play with and lift her heart. I am so blessed to have found someone that will love them as I do. Thank you to everyone who has offered to take my babies as this has been one of the hardest things to do. The Rescue Me! site has helped me in being able to make a choice for my girls. Thank you! Thank you, Jeff.

Rescue Me! provides an important avenue for people who have hard to place pets. My Iris is 8 years old and is not friendly with cats. Several people we know loved her and wanted her, but most of them had cats. When people called about Iris they were concerned about her age and her aggressiveness with cats. It would take the right match and circumstance for her. We started looking for Iris a new home as soon as we realized we were moving to another country. Yesterday she went to her new home and her new friends, thanks to Rescue Me! Her new owner saw her on this site and drove two hours to meet her. We then set her up to visit him and it was a great match! My husband and I are grateful for the opportunity to ensure her safety and future. She is happier than she has ever been! Thank you! Regards, Marie

We found our new 5-year old boy Peyton a few days after we lost our Beagle of 14 years to heart failure. Actually, it's probably more like Peyton found us. His most recent owner reluctantly wanted to find a more appropriate home for him because she was taking a new job that would not have allowed her to spend the time with Peyton that he needs to be a happy boy. We love the little guy to death and we're grateful to Rescue Me! and to his previous owner, without which Peyton would never have found us.

Lily was adopted immediately. Because the adopting family lived here locally, we were able to drop her off. It was wonderful to meet the family and see the home where she resides now. Lily seemed to immediately take to the house and the family, spreading her kisses all around! I am so grateful to Rescue Me! for helping with this adoption at no charge. It's amazing the quick responses I received. Old English Sheepdog fans are truly Sheepdog fans! They are such wonderful, loving, fun dogs. Today I received an e-mail expressing total love for Lily. She was just what their hearts needed after losing their Sheepdog a year ago. Thank you, Jeff, for founding this wonderful organization. It was a difficult decision to adopt Lily out, but a necessary one. Making it so easy took a lot of pain out of the process.      Chopper and his 'sissie' have gone to a wonderful family about an hour away. They are now living on a 20-acre horse ranch and are thoroughly enjoying it. I miss them but their new family is keeping in contact with me about their adventures. Thanks so much to Rescue Me! I was so afraid I was going to have to take them to the shelter. Chopper had been through a hard life before I got him. He was used as a bait dog in fights at only 10-weeks old. So you could imagine how bad it was before we got him. My husband died last August and I'm having to move. I couldn't take him or his 'sissie' but Rescue Me! was there, not only for them but for me as well. I would have felt so guilty if I would've had to take them to the shelter but now I feel they both got the home they deserve. Thank you Rescue Me! and thank you Chopper and Karma's new family.

I was saddened to find Rosco had been chained around the neck so tight that he could hardly breath! I was very glad that I was able to rescue him, and he jumped right into the car. He now runs on a fenced half an acre with my other pit, and sleeps in the house. Because he was not worked with before, we are now working on manners, house breaking and the basics. He is eager to please. I can't wait for the head halter and lead that I ordered to arrive so we can work on walking.

I'm confident that the family that adopted my sweet Totoro will be just the kind of home he needs. Plenty of room to run around with dog and goat friends. I'm so happy to have found such a nice home for him. Can't wait to visit him from time to time as well.

After being diagnosed with a rare illness at the age of 42, I knew I had to make a very difficult decision to rehome my purebred male Bichon Frise, Chandler. Even though I love him, I could no longer physically keep up with his demands on my time and energy. My only concern was in finding him the best home possible. After receiving 12 responses within the first 24 hours, I made the decision to hold a meet-n-greet at a local dog park with the family I thought could meet his needs best. Coincidentally, they were the first ones to contact me about him. Some of my requirements were that the family have young children, other dogs, and a fenced yard, all of which I knew he needed to thrive. We ended up staying at the park for quite a while visiting and watching the children run around and play with Chandler. What a fun time they had! Chandler, my boy, went to his forever home that day. I spent some time crying afterward, tears of sorrow and joy at the same time. I knew in my heart I did the right thing. I want to express my thanks and gratitude to Chandler's new family for giving him a loving, caring home and to the founder of Rescue Me! for this wonderful site. Thank you for giving special pets their second chance! - Traci

A friend suggested I check Rescue Me's Yorkie Rescue when I was talking to her about wanting a Yorkie... Then on New Year's Day my friend called to say that they were bringing Sam to us. Sam immediately became a member of our family!! Sam stays right by my side. He's a very loving dog and great with my family.

I knew the minute I saw Lilly on Rescue Me! that she was going to be my new furry daughter! Such a gorgeous girl! My husband and I are so excited to get to know her and welcome her to our family. She will now have a brother German Spitz and a sister Pomeranian to play with, and lots of room to run. All our 'children' have couch and bed privileges so Lilly will be very happy! Thank you, Rescue Me!

Words cannot express our love for our new girl Roxy the German Shepherd! She is so smart and loving, she fit in with our family from the first day! It was a 4 hour trip, perfect manners in the car with our 8 year old son, Seth! Roxy is now his BFF, they even share the same birthday! We know that it was hard for her mom Kristine to let her go. We will forever be grateful for her gift.We cannot imagine our family without her. Many thanks, The Reynolds Family

I am very grateful to Rescue Me!, Maggie found a new home within one week. I had many responses from a lot of wonderful people willing to offer Maggie a new loving home. I would recommend Rescue Me! to anyone who may find themselves in a financial crisis or simply realizes that their friend and companion may need more than one can offer. I believe being a responsible dog owner is important. For myself the dog pound was not an option. I love Maggie and wanted her to have more than I could give. I had the pleasure of sharing eight years with her, and I hope her new owner Donna will share in the pleasure in her senior years. Thank you again. Best Regards, Catherine Vernetti

I rescued Boss from a garage that he had been abandoned in for close to a week. He had no food, water, not even a blanket to keep him warm. A friend that knew the previous owner of Boss, told me they had moved from the house to Ohio four or five days earlier and they said they were coming back the next day for him. After a few days this friend was walking by and heard the dog's screams, and him frantically pawing and scratching at the door. Knowing how I am about animals, my friend let me know the situation. I contacted the police. I was told that there was nothing they could do. I explained that I was going after the dog, and, that if they got a call that some girl was trespassing at the abandoned house next door, that it would probably be me. I looked into the house to make sure I wasn't stealing someone's dog, it was obviously abandoned. I got a piece of metal twisted into the lock and opened the door not knowing what to expect. Boss, shied away. I extended my hand to him and spoke quietly and let him know that I loved dogs and I was just there to help him. He looked me over and smelled my hand, then just came into my arms. I hugged him for a minute. It was so cold! I placed a leash on his collar, and led him to the car. I opened the door and tail wagging, he jumped inside to meet my 12-year old daughter, Kayla. He greeted her by smelling her hair and a big wet kiss. I dried the snow off him and he laid on her lap. The roads were bad so what normally took us 15 to 20 minutes took us 45-50 minutes, and Boss got up occasionally to check the roads and give me a kiss. Then laid back on Kayla's lap. Got him home, made sure he didn't look like he needed any immediate medical attention. No sores, clear skin except a little dandruff. His weight was low though. His ribs were very visible. I checked the his skin to see if he was overly dehydrated, looked at his teeth and couldn't believe how truly beautiful this guy was. I started him eating food and making sure he had plenty of water at all times. He came into our home and made it his, and was so happy that sometimes he looked as if he was smiling. He has the most innocent and just funny, personality. You could not help but fall in love with him. I am not in a situation where I can't keep another dog. I am a pit bull mommy already, as well as a pom-poo mommy. Not to mention the cat and two lizards. I had to find this good guy a home and fast. I refused the thought of the 'Humane Society' as I know the horror stories. After screening quite a few calls... The person on the the other end had suffered the tragic loss of her beloved pit. I could feel her pain because I know that pain. We instantly hit it off. Everything about her and her family was perfect for Boss. Boss went home tonight. There were many tears. My daughter and I took plenty of pictures. Gave him plenty of hugs, and got to share in the laughter of his silliness, just one more time. I am grateful for Loretta and Steven and their family. He deserves such wonderful people as you, and you him. Many, many blessings. I know he will enrich your lives, as much as you will enrich his. Thank you for making such a good dog, a loved and safe dog. Many years of happiness, love and laughter to you all.

Unfortunately, we have to move into a senior community and were sadly unable to take my girls, Cassie and Lacey, with us. They could not be separated because they are extremely close. I had them for seven years and it's been quite a struggle in doing this. However, we are so blessed to have someone contact us who wanted both girls. They live in the country and will be putting up a fence for the girls this spring. The girls have become so much more active living in a house, rather than an apartment. They have all bonded very well. The best part of it for me in grieving, is that the new owners send me pictures of the girls doing different activities and stories. This has helped me so much. I know they miss us as we were so close to them, but they now have walks, more playtime, etc., that were became unable to do. Thank you so much for Rescue Me! We will be sending a contribution as soon as possible.

We adopted a beautiful Pitt puppy 'Natty' that we found on Rescue Me! We were initially going to purchase when we came upon this site and saw how many puppies there were out there that needed forever homes. It broke our heart. God bless you for creating this wonderful site! It was super easy and knowing things about her nature helped in determining she was going to be a perfect fit for our family! We are so in love with our new furbaby! I would recommend this site to anyone looking for a wonderful addition to their family.

My German Shepherd crossed with Lab was in desperate need of a loving home with a big yard. After listing her on Rescue Me! I received a call from a gentleman that has a farm who was looking for a companion for his 9-year old Labrador. We took Sally to them over the weekend and the place was an absolute dream. Sally immediately felt at home, and loved nothing more than to run around and explore. We spent some time there to let her adapt to the new surroundings. Peter and his wife are extremely loving and caring people and they committed to loving Sally as much as we do. Judging from the way their other animals is being treated, I have no doubt that Sally found the best home ever.

Such an ideal outcome! We wanted to find a home for Riley that was a good fit, and had actually turned down a couple potential adoptees. Then, one day I got a call from Kathy, and we chatted for a bit about why she would want to adopt Riley. They'd lost a Jack Russell last summer, and were looking for a 'sibling' for their other Jack Russell. It sounded like Riley would get lots of attention and even have someone to play with. Kathy showed up with pictures of her doggies and Riley looked just like her lost Jack, except for hers had more white coloring. Riley, being the smart guy that he is, knew something was up and was anxious but jumped right up to the passenger seat of her car and after giving me lots of smooches rode home with her. Kathy texted me that night to let me know that he was doing very well, and she was even getting kisses already! My heart is happy.

She knew it was hard to say Goodbye to Bella, so she allowed us to take our time to say our goodbyes. I knew it would be hard, but it was even harder than I thought it would be. I knew she was going to a great home, Cathy is very loving and had some really nice things in her car to keep Bella comfy on the ride home. She has kept in touch with me to advise how well Bella is adjusting. I am so grateful for the Rescue Me! website. I have had numerous calls on Bella and Harley.      Within two days of posting this pup, I was in contact with someone interested in him. I was so relieved because otherwise he would have been put to sleep. She took him on a trial basis and decided to keep him. He will now get the chance to live for as long as his pain is managed, which could be a year or much longer. I am so grateful to Rescue Me! because it would have broken my heart to put down such a sweet puppy.

I am disabled and at home all the time, so I was looking for a companion to keep me company during the day to help me get a little exercise by going for short walks and playing. I went straight to Rescue Me! to help me find the dog I was looking for. The website was so helpful by letting me search by breed for dogs in my state that needed to find a new home, and that led me to Penny! When I saw her picture, I thought she looked so sweet, and reading the details posted by her current owner I knew she was the puppy I was looking for. I called the phone number listed in the post to arrange to meet Penny, and when she arrived at my house I instantly fell in love. It has been a week so far, and we have quickly become best friends. We go on walks and play throughout the day. Penny has brought so much joy into my life, and I wouldn't have found her if not for the help of Rescue Me!

Hi Jeff, I signed up for Rescue Me! notifications in the Fall of 2013. My husband really wanted to wait until after the first of the year so we could be 'full-time parents' with no distractions. I received a notice for my state but we wanted a male so I clicked on surrounding states and found Cooper. His owner is in the service and had to go in for training and relocate for over six months. We e-mailed right away and he responded right away, the rest is history. We are now the extremely happy owners of a male, 3-1/2 year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever. We are staying in touch with his original owner and are so happy he used this channel to bring this amazing dog into our lives. Thank you for the service you provide!
