Tinkerbell was adopted by a lovely lady who is deaf. Tink's loving nature and desire to please was a perfect fit. They both live now in Long Beach California. Thank's so much for the platform for this posting, Rescue Me! Happy ending!

After adopting two older dogs from the Rescue Me postings several years ago, my husband and I decided to keep browsing the site in hopes of finding a younger dog to fill their prints when they reach the end of their days. We live on a small farm and need a good watchdog on the premises at all times to bark when something is amiss. The right dog is hard to come by, but the minute we saw Odie, we knew he was the one. We were thrilled when his people notified us that we had been selected from the line of applicants who also recognized his wonderfulness. He is a true joy and incredibly smart. We're also very grateful that his people took the time to see to it that he had some good, basic training. It has served us all in good stead! Odie loves his new home and his older doggie companions, and gets along with the kitties indoors. Outdoors, he still needs work in that regard, but we are confident he will come along in the future. Overall, we could not be more pleased, not only with this adoption, but also with the others that we have found through Rescue Me. God bless you for the wonderful service!

I wanted to share our success story with you to thank you for what you do! I was browsing sites and local shelters looking for a dog to add to our family. I came across a Pekingese named Dexter, who was being fostered in South Carolina. I fell in love with him instantly! When I heard his story, my heart just went out to him. He was found wandering a main highway, covered with fleas, matted and tangled/dirty fur, a skin infection, malnourished and a cataract in one eye due to an injury. He had what was called 'fur braces' which is fur wrapped around the teeth. It was so bad they though his teeth were black. Turned out once the got them cleaned he has nice white and healthy teeth with the perfectly adorable underbite. The rescue took him in and cleaned him up, gave him medicine to treat the infection and got him up to date on shots/testing and back to health. He was being fostered when I contacted the rescue, and after I heard about his personality, I just knew he was meant to be with us. After all, he has been through he is still just full of love and sweetness. My nine year old son and I took a weekend road trip to South Carolina to meet/adopt Dexter! It was love at first sight. He slept in adorably cute positions all the way home comfy on a fluffy blanket on the front seat. Dexter has become part of the family and fit in right away. He is still slightly underweight so he gets plenty of extra treats and cooked meat/rice with his wet and dry food. He snuggles up to me to sleep at night and gets loving all day long. I take him everywhere with me and he just loves it. He is now spoiled, loved and part of a family in his forever home. I cannot thank you enough for what you do, I honestly wish I could rescue each and every furry feathered and scaled sweetheart. They deserve to live happily and loved and you play a big part in making sure that happens to so many! So thank you, what you do is amazing. Thank you, Rescue Me!

A wonderful woman found my posting of Charlotte on Rescue Me and helped put me in contact with a woman who runs a nonprofit organization for adopting and rehoming Bloodhounds. She is a beautiful soul of a woman who does amazing work and I know Charlotte is in amazing hands with her. She keeps me updated with how Charlotte is doing and even sends me pictures. I'm thankful I found this website and I'm thankful that the organization found me and Charlotte through here.

Hello. My sweet beagle, Jasper, was rescued by one of the most incredible women I've ever met. Her name is Dianne, and she founded the non-profit organization 'The Hounds of Peaceful Place Senior Hound Rescue and Sanctuary' which is located in Chesnee, SC. You can find her easily on Facebook. She is currently the caretaker of 50 dogs and has committed her entire life in taking care of them. I am thankful to have met this kind woman. If you're ever in the area, it's worth a field trip to see her humble facility that was designed by her and all her animals. Thank you for Rescue Me! -Tina

I saw Rudy on this site after looking at several dogs. I contacted one of the rescue sites and they were absolutely ridiculous with the requirements for adopting the dog. I reached out to Sandra Schott in Bandera concerning Rudy and found out he also had a sister, Knight. We arranged a date and time to meet. We drove four hours from Conroe to Bandera to meet and pick up the dogs. They truly did not know their names so we renamed them Luke and Bella. They are in a loving home and we are both learning about each other. They love treats, walks and play time. They are both so loving and deserved a good home. I am thankful Rescue Me existed and we were able to find our forever children.

I was really stressing out about finding a home for my Chihuahua. I got really attached to the little guy so finding a home for him was very hard because I wanted to make sure that he went to a really good home with an owner that was going to love him and treat him well. Overnight, I got a response from a beautiful lady who was a previous Chihuahua owner and had lost her pet a few months ago. We talked several times via email, text and by phone. She was very sweet and pleasant. I introduced Mojo to her and she fell in love with him right away. It was hard for me to give him away, but she had such great energy, I felt comfortable. We have since exchanged texts and Mojo has adjusted just fine to her. He definitely found a permanent home. I am thankful for Rescue Me. I don't know if I would have found a good person to adopt my dog, otherwise! Thank you!

A very nice retire person adopted Porkchop to his 'forever' home. I was surprised for all the response and quickly through Rescue Me. I was in a pickle. Porkchop was a rescue and I had him in my home for four months while I fostered him. He was a mess. Seven pounds and lots of bad habits, but he loved kids. He learned fast and became a lovable dog at 12 pounds. The adopted family, after fostering, was not the right people. Porkchop was abused, no medical shots, and grooming was non existent. I got him back just as I was getting ready to move. Spent $383 at the vet to get him up to where he was at my home. Spent three weeks getting his training back to normal and lots of love. He is a real sweetie, but stubborn on the leash. Unfortunately, the previous family taught him to dislike large dogs. I did not have enough time to correct that bad behavior fully since I am moving on the 21st and could not take him with me. Hopefully in the new home, he will learn to like everyone. Good luck John!

Rescue Me helped tremendously in finding a temporary foster for Blu, who took great care of her and worked with her on her challenges with other dogs. We were then able to find Blu a fabulous home with a fenced in yard, no other pets, and THREE boys between the ages of five and thirteen to keep her active, not to mention that the father figure in the household has had a great deal of dog training experience. She is very happy and well cared for. Thank you very much, Rescue Me!

I found the perfect home for her with a woman who works for a vet and has a one year old German Shepherd for Mya to play with.      I could not have dreamed of such a good outcome of posting our Bloodhound on Rescue Me. I am happy and sad at the same time, I finally found the perfect home for Huck. He is going to St. Louis to be trained in search and rescue. They came today and tested him to see if he had what it took to be a good tracker. He passed! He took to the guy right away, so I know he is going to be happy with him. He left on his way to his new home. They are going to share photos of his training with me. I'm going to miss him, but this is such a great opportunity for him, he may save someone's life someday.

Zara was rescued from a hoarding situation. Buried deep in the woods on a very short rope. He had no vaccines and not spayed. We took three adult dogs from that situation and two litters of puppies! They are all doing very well. Zara was the first one to get a great new home! They love her and we know that she will be cared for properly! She is a sweet girl for sure. Thank you, Rescue Me!

My husband and I lost our 11 year old Annabelle this past summer. She was a funny, loving Chihuahua with a huge personality. A true 'one of a kind' gem and love of our life. She had a maxed out heart murmur the second half of her life, but it rarely slowed her down. It was finally her heart medicine that took out her kidneys. Still, I wouldn't have changed a thing. Then Napoleon appeared on Rescue Me. Before long, I was checking daily to see if he was still available as we were still out of state. As soon as we got back here, I found out how soon we could meet him. And it was a match made in Heaven. He's unbelievably amazing and the blessing we needed. I can't imagine life without him. Our family is complete. Thank you so much.

I was surprised at how quickly Lucy was adopted, being that she was a senior dog with a couple of health issues. I was hoping to find her a good home, rather than send her to a shelter, even a 'no kill' shelter. There were two gentlemen interested in her initially, but one had to pass due to a change in his circumstances. Lucy is now happily residing in her new home in a very dog friendly town.      We had to find a new forever home for our Pit/Lab mix, Stevie. Under circumstances out of my control, I could no longer provide the loving home she needed. I posted her on Rescue Me, and believe I have found her a new loving forever home. I had a lot of people interested in her, but I just didn't seem to make the connection I was looking for until I spoke with Sarah. Stevie will have a lot and very safe area to run around with her new playmate. I felt very at ease and believe I have chosen the right new home for her. Thank you to everybody who was willing to make my Stevie, part of their family.

Wow, what a success! Long story, but we had rescued a shelter dog in Texas and had her kenneled till we could pick her up, Later on, I was asked if I knew of anyone wanting a couple of more rescues they had. I told them I knew of a great site I could help and post them on. Within a few days, I had many inquiries on the Dalmatian mix, Paris. Even though I was in Georgia and the dog in Texas, I figured it would reach more people. In fact, it was the second caller who adopted Paris even after she told me she'd rather not adopt without seeing her first. She called the rescue, and I guess she changed her mind. A free transport delivered Paris to new owner this past Monday after having to wait on flooding issues in Texas but well worth the wait. She says Paris gets along great with her other Dalmation; perfect match! Thank you, Rescue Me!

Daisy was a service dog by chance. Her owner is deaf and she learned to signal him for many things through her five years of service. But he then went blind. Daisy tried to guide him for a year, on walks and through his new very small room/apartment. She ended up hurt and so did he. I was asked to take her to the shelter, a blessing in disguise. They were full of natural disaster animals. Our hero, Carol, saw our Rescue Me post. Her husband, still heartbroken by the loss of their Border Terrier, took some convincing. The month at my house with small children, a puppy and two cats did wonders. We went to meet Carol, who brought her husband and the trial period became Daisy's retirement forever home. Now she goes on six mile morning walks on the beach where there are always other dogs to romp with and also get to play with a four year old granddaughter. Thank you Jesus, Carol and Joe! Also, thank you Rescue Me and the dog walker, Penny, who posted a video! Blessings!

Kairi is a wonderful dog and deserved a family that was home more often and had the time to spend with her. We were sad to part with her, but happy that she found the perfect home. She will be spending her days with a little six year old that she already loves dearly. The family sends us updates on her progress and shown how well she is doing.      Yeti was abandoned on a corner across from my workplace. For six months, neither I nor anyone else could touch him. In December and after many untold roadblocks, he came home with me. Slowly he began to trust and love. Unfortunately, my Chiweenie did not like him nor would she play with him or even let him have affection if she was in the room. He deserves more and as a herd dog, he needed more. Though I wanted to be his real Mom, it became clear that for his sake he needed a home without a hateful Chiweenie included! The sweetest couple who only recently lost their white Heeler saw Yeti's picture on Rescue Me. 'He's the one,' Yeti's new daddy said. After they came to meet him it was obvious to us all Yeti belonged with them and his new little brother, Amos. As a plus he would have ten acres, a large yard, a pool and two retired parents to spend time with. When he left two days later, my husband and I sobbed. So did his new parents. But Yeti's story has the happiest of endings I could ever have asked his maker for. Thank you, Lord and thank you, Rescue Me!

All I know is I get to run, jump, chase Kongs and Squeakers, steal Chaucer's toys, and then get LOTS of yummy treats. AWESOME! Yours Truly, Harley

We were very blessed as our first phone call ended up being an awesome and perfect new Mom and home for our dog! Roman's new Mom has had a lot of experience with Maltese she has a home, a yard and another doggy for Roman to play with! She is happy and willing to work with him on the training he never, unfortunately, received. We hoped and prayed for the 'Perfect Home' for Roman and it all came true! Thank You so very much, Rescue Me! We couldn't have done this without you!

Briah is adjusting to the new lifestyle presented in our family. She has been found to have excessive itchy skin that will be addressed at the groomers within her first scheduled appointments. Briah has been found to not care for strangers and behaves in an overprotective nature. I foresee some behavior modification with Briah though her protective manner is seen as an asset. Through positive reinforcement and encouragement and quality health care, Briah will live a long, productive and happy life with the love of her new sister and myself. Thank you, Rescue Me!

I think we are made for each other. Thank you so much for posting her. And she is well taken care of and much love. Thank you once again.

We received an inquiry from KR just after she visited another family in our area. The mother made the contact with us by phone. She was willing to once again return to our area so she and her children (and a family friend) could meet BeBe to see how she behaved. We wrote an agreement outlining the arrangement and her responsibilities to take our dog back to her home for a couple of weeks to acclimate and to meet her husband. We texted often to discuss behaviors and ideas. This morning she sent us a lengthy email accepting BeBe into their family on a permanent basis! We agreed to contact our vet for her records and will forward them. Thank you, Rescue Me! This was sad for us, but we know BeBe found a 'forever' home with a new loving family. Thank you for providing a website that made this situation possible.

Thank you, Rescue Me! Buddy was a family pet and when Dad died, he lost his pack leader. We decided to re-home him because he deserved to find someone who could give him the time he requires and love him. We posted him on Rescue Me and received a few responses and then we found Ed or should I say Ed found us. It was a perfect fit. I think Buddy has found his new 'best friend' and I hope Ed found his.

It was with a heavy heart that we posted our growing puppy on Rescue Me for adoption because work schedules had changed and there was no longer enough available time to devote to him. Within three days, I had five inquiries, and the three that I talked to all seemed like good homes. We were very pleased with the home that our puppy went to, and hope they develop as much love for him as we had. I think that will happen from their first encounter!

I am so excited that both puppies went to the same home. The couple has several other Pitbulls. They were only coming to get the female but fell in love with her brother as well. I could not have gotten a happier ending. Thank you for this website. My friend was struggling with trying to keep them but financially falling short. Since I got one of the puppies from the same litter, I decided to help her out and found Rescue Me! Thank you so much!!!

I have been looking for a friend. Thanks to Rescue Me, I found Reagan. I was browsing dogs. Trying to find the right one for me. Rescue Me makes it easy and fast. I couldn't be happier. Reagan is doing very well, I brought her home and now she can't stop laying on me. She is a good dog, very protective of me. I just want to thank Rescue Me and the lady I got Reagan from. Without them, I would have never met my best friend. Reagan couldn't be happier, really, it's true. Every time I leave the house and come back, she acts like I've been gone for weeks, months, maybe even years. When I walk through the door, she just gets so excited. Thank you Rescue Me for helping me find Reagan.

This was a great experience for sure. The response I received from quality dog lovers who all asked the right questions and followed up asking about Blue made me feel very comfortable. Blue's new parents drove six hours and stayed five days meeting Blue and taking him for hours at a time, showed us pictures of his new home and I think we have made new friends as they have offered for us to come visit Blue. Thank You Rescue Me for finding Blue a new positive home and family.

Sophia is a diabetic pug, as we all know special needs dogs are often times much harder to adopt out. Being a new rescue, we needed all the help getting the word out we could. We didn't have the ability to post on any other sites in the beginning because we didn't have our 501c3 yet (which we do now YAY!). Rescue Me has been so helpful in the search for Sophia's perfect family. The family that just adopted her found her on Rescue Me! Thanks so much for what you do!

We had the sweetest little Rottweiler girl, but after a divorce and a nasty accident, we were unable to give her the time and attention she deserves, especially once school started and the kids were in after school sports and activities. I tried looking for a home for her with friends, my church family, and even through Facebook, but with no luck. When a good neighbor suggested posting on Rescue Me, I figured we could give it a try. By the next morning, I was contacted by an interested family, and continued to get emails and calls throughout the week. Today, she went home with her new family, including their eight month old Rottie/Shepherd mix. She and their pup hit it off away, and were curled next to each other as they drove away. We just wanted Coco to have a good home with a loving family, and thanks to Rescue Me we found her the perfect forever home!

Our boy was not able to be himself, constantly in trouble with our other male dog. He immediately connected with the young family that came out to see him. He went home with them that night, after tearful goodbyes. I recently got a picture of him, his new cat friend, and their kiddo all taking over the bed. So glad to have let him go to grow into the amazing dog I know he could be. Thank you, Rescue Me!

We were looking for a little sister for our nine year old Boxer, 'Moose'. It's a jungle out there. After looking at different breeders we decided to rescue one. We are glad we did. We found Bonnie. When I was a kid, I had a Boxer called 'Bonnie', and that's her name from now on. Bonnie has breakfast in bed with the rest of us. She runs around in the backyard when she feel like it. My wife and I are retired, so we have a lot of time to spend on the dogs. We look forward to taking the motorhome out, to see how she likes camping. Whoever reads this; please consider rescuing a dog if you plan to get one. I'm sure glad we did. Thank you, Rescue Me!

Onyx was only on Rescue Me for just a day when I got an email from his adoptive mother. She and her husband are very nice people with a lovely home. I went to their home to do a meet and greet and to see if their older dog would be okay having such a young baby brother. They hit it off from the start and it was like a match made in heaven. Onyx found his forever family and will be spoiled and have the life he deserves. Love you Onyx!!

I lost my adorable Doxy, Tobias. I was devastated. I knew I would want another Doxy in the future, but only time would tell as to when that would be. Then, about a couple of months ago, I started going to the rescue sites and checking out Doxies. Very tentatively. I saw several that I found promising, but still could not bring myself to take the next step of making inquiries. Then, about three weeks ago, I saw a photo of a dachshund mix who I felt compelled to inquire about. A family was already in the process of adopting him. The next day I saw a posting about Lacey. She looked so proud, self-confident, and simply adorable on the stump! I also admired Ann Kelley for recognizing that she could no longer care for her beloved dog. That matched perfectly with my hope that I would adopt a dog from an elderly person. I called Ann, went over to her house, which is only about two miles from mine, and left with Lacey. That first night that she snuggled with me in bed was the first really good sleep I have had since Tobias passed. Since I only live two miles from Ann, I suggested going over to her house with Lacey once a week, and let them have some quality time for a couple of hours. Ann loves the idea. Now Lacey will have a mom and a grandma. Thanks, Rescue Me, for your efforts that make good things like this come to pass.

Thank you, Rescue Me! I am so grateful to all the people associated with this organization. I adopted two, beautiful dogs from a wonderful lady, Robyn, and her family. This was a wonderful experience. I had a terrible experience with the loss of my best friend after ten years. The people who are in this organization are wonderful and I cannot thank them enough. To Robyn, I know this was a very hard and emotional thing to do. May God bless her and her family! Benji and Shadow are doing great!

We are so happy to have found Kia and her Mom, Andrea, through Rescue Me! Using the site was extremely helpful. We didn't fall in love with the first pretty face we found, we were able to take our time and search for the right fit for our family. We were able to contact Kia's Mom, ask tons of questions and get to know her a bit before we brought her home. There were a few adjustment bumps the first day, but we are all transitioning well. We couldn't be happier! We thought about buying and I am so glad we chose to adopt trough Rescue Me! We have a very loving, well cared for, loyal and sweet family member who is now off in the country enjoying free running spaces, water, and sliding on the playground. Thank you Andrea and Rescue Me!

Thanks, Rescue Me, for giving Dobby the exposure. Fostering is a mixed bag. We only had Dobby for a little over a week. He's such a sweet guy and fit right into our two human, three Min Pin pack. I was heartbroken when I brought him over to meet his new pack. When I saw how much the kids loved him and how much he loved cuddling up with them it felt great and I just knew it was right. All rescues have stories. We all work hard to make sure their stories have happy endings.

Our family is relocating and we will not be able to bring our aging boxers. I have been trying to figure out what to do about this and came upon Rescue Me! Three days after posting both of my Boxers have a new home. This is especially special because that sweet angel lady took Laila knows that her best years are behind her and her hips are failing. The vet offered to put her down a week before and we decided to hold off because Laila is not ready. My family is so grateful. My family really misses them, but can rest better knowing they are in a good environment.

I have been looking for quite a while for an adult Lab that was healthy, mature, and past the puppy stage. I looked at several sheltered dogs, online websites, and even seriously thought about another breed, besides a lab. In my area of the northwest, this type of Lab is hard to come by and was getting very discouraged. Then about a week ago, I saw a new post on Rescue Me by a lady fostering/adopting out a seven year old female lab about 100 miles south of me by the name of Maisey. Everything sounded great, made an appointment to meet her with my wife's small spayed Yorkie/Maltese mix of 15 months. We all just clicked immediately, even Molly, our small dog liked her. We were able to obtain all of Maisey's items {two beds, bowls, all vet paperwork, etc.} from her foster, and after about an hour, Maisey was on our way to her new home near a huge lake, and halfway up a mountain. Have had her three days now, and we made our first two mile round trip down to the lake for a swim. She loves water, and now exhausted and is sound asleep on the floor next to me. She is a perfect fit, well mannered, obedient, healthy, and after such a long search, was well worth it. She is a keeper. Anyone searching for a particular type dog in mind, don't give up, there is one out there, and when you least expect it, will show up!
