Animal ID: 66Brenna (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Young Adult

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

SPECIAL NEEDS: HEARTWORM POSITIVE. Brenna is a very sweet girl, who loves to be with people. She knows sit and listens well. She does take treats a little rough and needs to work on this. Unfortunately she is heartworm positive and will require a rescue to pull her and get her treatment. 59 lbs. 3 years old. If you have questions or would like to meet the dog featured on this page, please call (216) 664-3476 to speak to an adoption representative at CITY DOGS Cleveland. Or email citydogs@city.cleveland.oh.us About Our Shelter... CITY DOGS Cleveland is a program of Cleveland Animal Care & Control (CACC), located at 2690 W. 7th St. Cleveland, ... (Read More)OH 44113. Public hours are Monday through Saturday from 10am-3pm, and Sunday 12-2pm. The CITY DOGS mission is to increase adoptions from the City Kennel by changing the image of the pit bulls who make up the majority of the kennel population, by preparing all adoptable dogs in the kennel for lives in loving homes and by creating as many opportunities as possible for the public to meet and get to know our dogs for the terrific pets they are meant to be. Our Adoption Process... Here's a little about how things work: All of the CITY DOGS posted for adoption are available for direct adoption from the kennel, unless noted otherwise. A handful of dogs are only available for rescue pull, which can be for a variety of reasons. You can either stop in during our open hours to meet a dog, or set up a meet and greet with your dog, which allows us to get the dog out of his/her cage for some exercise before you arrive. To set up a meet and greet, please email us at citydogs@city.cleveland.oh.us. About Our Dogs: All available dogs have been assessed. This assessment is a snapshot of who the dog is at that given time. Our dogs are strays and we cannot make any guarantees with regard to behavior, temperament or health of any City Dog. We do not know what kind of home environment they were living in (i.e. with kids, other dogs or other cats), nor do we know if they are house trained. Everything we know about them is based on volunteer and staff observations. It is very hard to tell with certainty whether or not a dog will be good with kids, cats or another dog. If you have kids in the home or another dog, we do require that they be present for a meet and greet with the dog you are considering for adoption. Health/Vaccinations: Dogs that are adopted directly from the kennel need to go to your personal vet within a week or so of leaving the kennel. They do have their DHPP, Rabies and Bordetella vaccinations, are dewormed once and have a microchip. In addition, unfortunately many of the dogs do get kennel cough. This is not something that is contagious to people at all, but dogs that do have it will need to be on an antibiotic. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-25-00048Wego (female)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Wego is a fantastic puppy. She had a rough start in life, but we've had much worse. She used to hate being picked up because she was relentlessly dragged around by children at her previous home. After months of working with her, she doesn't mind anything we do to her. She is not food aggressive and she loves all people without hesitation. She loves almost all dogs, but loves to play with them. We have a couple of senior dogs, and she does very well with them. We recently had to introduce a new puppy, and she is still learning how to handle her, but she is making excellent progress. She does not do great with chickens, but we work on ... (Read More)that with her regularly, too, and she is learning to 'leave it' very well. She just ignore them the way we would like her to. She will learn, though, truly. Even if she is in hot pursuit. She sits, even if she is focused on something else, and she comes when called without hesitation. She had a broken when she was young, but had corrective surgery to fix it. She runs all day without issues. Sometimes after playing rough with her doggy sister, she mat limp, but only rarely. She loves kids and does not leave their sides in the woods. She is incredibly loyal and protective of them. She is a wonderful dog and deserves a wonderful forever home! I am happy to answer any questions that you may have about her!! Also, she obviously has some hound in her, but I have no idea what kind. The folks that needed to rehome her said that her mother was a husky, so that is the only info we have on breed. (Less)

Doberman Pinscher Mix    Age: Puppy

Dino here and I'm a dashing young man with piercing eyes and a smile that goes on for miles!!! If you are into strong, athletic types then we just might be made for each other because I have muscles galore! Don't mistake me for a meat-head though because I have both brains and brawn! I am super smart and learn new things quickly....especially if you have some yummy treats to coax me with! I'm still a young guy so running around and playing are important to me and I adore toys - especially a good set of rubber rings! So far I haven't been enjoying the company of the other dogs here at the Muskingum County Dog Warden & Adoption Center, but if ... Plott Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Needs Vaccinations, Fearful/Anxious

This is zero, he's a plott hound mix puppy. He's roughly 6months old. My husband and I took him off someone's hand because they didn't want him. Over all he is a great puppy, loves kids (gets a little over excites when kids show up but we're working on it) great with other dogs, and is ok with cats (he tries to play with them at times but doesn't realize he's bigger than them). Unfortunately we need to find him a new home though. When we got him he was strictly an outside dog and isn't adjusting well to being inside. We've given him a couple months to adjust but it's not working. Since we live in the city we don't have a lot of room for him ... (Read More)to run/wander and that's what he need and wants. We're asking for a small rehoming to ensure a good home, he would come with a couple of his favorite toys, his collar and some food. We hate to get rid of him but we want what is best for him and we feel some where in the country is what he needs. If you would like to adopt him or have question please give me a call. (Less)

DOG PICKY My name is Amelia and everyone at the Muskingum County Dog Warden & Adoption Center thinks that I am stunning with my snow, white coat that is as soft as velvet. I'm a happy-go-lucky girl and like to wag my tail and smile for all of my fans...but I do have to mention that I have a jealous streak! (Less)

Animal ID: BoboBobo (male)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Most of our dogs come from the shelter. Most of them are not able to go to the adoption floor for whatever reason and so they are quite literally on death row when we pull them. We don't know what their past is, we don't know their story except to be able to piece together details from whatever information the shelter has. It's sad. So many dogs are thrown away, dumped at the shelter with no information, often not even their name by owners who just didn't care. Imagine not caring enough about your dog to even leave their name with the shelter. Their name. The one thing that might make them feel some connection to someone. It's sad, and its ... (Read More)hard but we take comfort knowing that we will change their lives. Sometimes though, we get some information and sometimes that is even sadder. Meet Bobo. Bobo is about 6 years old and he is an american bulldog mix. He is a sweet older gentleman who is great with dogs, cats and kids. He is house trained and crate trained and rarely barks. So far, the information we have is similar to our other dogs: all things we have learned about him for ourselves. However, Bobo's story has another chapter. You see, we know his history and its heartbreaking. Bobo had a family. His family loved him and they fell on hard times. They lost their home and could not afford to keep him so they took him to a shelter. As far as we know he lived his entire 6 years with his family. One day they took him to the shelter. They walked out and left him and he was alone, confused and scared. He became depressed. Here is a sweet older dog who is used to the comfort of a home. He just wants to sleep on the couch and be near his person. That was no longer possible. Bobo's family loved him and they were heartbroken to leave him at the shelter but they had no other options. Bobo became sad and depressed at the shelter. He is not young and bouncy so he didn't attract the attention of an adopter. Now Bobo is here with Adopt a Pit Rescue. He has a nice soft bed, he has plenty of food, he has been fully vetted and he is doing ok. But Bobo is still sad. His foster family is nice but he needs closure. He needs to find his forever family so that he can live out his years holding down the couch and watching NCIS marathons. If you are looking for a great older gentleman who will bring joy to your life, please consider applying to adopt Bobo. You'll love him as much as we do. (Less)

Animal ID: PPR17-03Ripley (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My name is Ripley. I'm a 1-year-old, 10-lb Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund mix). I love snuggles, chew toys and being outside! My foster family calls me 'Princess Ripley' because I always get what I want! I get along great with all of my foster family - the kids are all over 9 years old. I would probably be good with a younger child, too. I liked other dogs at my first foster home as well. I'm house trained and very good at telling you when I need to go out. I'm also crate trained (I actually love my crate and sometimes I go there just to take a nap.) I'm also fully vetted and vaccinated. I was spayed on 3/21/17 and after my ... (Read More)recovery, will be available for adoption. I love being outside in my foster mom's backyard. I prefer a fenced-in yard and my foster mom will check it very well on any visit to a possible future home because I'm very good at finding holes to escape! I like to RUN and I am FAST! I'm pretty good on a leash, but I could use some training there, too. My foster mom says even little dogs like me need to learn not to pull. When I'm on a leash, it's best to hook me up to my harness. I can slip out of my collar pretty easily and I even got out of my harness once! My foster mom says that I should have been named Houdini, whatever that means. I also like to bark. So if you don't like a barking dog, I'm probably not for you. I'm pretty good about saving my barking for outside. I don't bark a lot inside the house. I also like to chew%BD'%BD| so it's best if you have a lot of toys around for me to chew on so I don't go after your stuff. I love to snuggle and give kisses. I have the most beautiful, big brown eyes! If you are looking for a loving, caring and sweet little companion, I'm it! Contact my foster family if you want to meet me! If you have any questions please contact the foster home at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Ripley1703.html. Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting this pup - you can find those at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Applications.html. Animal ID: 046-17Elsa (female)

Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Hey there, I'm Elsa and I'm a beautiful, blocky babe who is looking for a loving family to call my own! I have really been struggling with some itchy skin here at the Muskingum County Dog Warden & Adoption Center, but please don't hold that against me! I might look like a tough girl but I'm really a softy at heart who loves affection and cuddles from my favorite humans. Being a bigger girl, it is taking me a little bit to learn how to walk all nice and delicately on a leash, but I am getting better especially when I get to wear a harness. Were were very skinny and very hungry when we were first found. A nice lady took us in for about 3 weeks and fed us and helped us out but because she had 3 dogs of her own, she just couldn't keep us so she brought us here so we can find new homes. I am a little timid at first when I meet new people but once I warm up to you and get to know you I'm a total sweetheart. I get along well with other dogs.     Polly is as sweet and lovable as the day is long. She is only a year old. Her family brought her to the dog pound with the excuse of 'she doesn't fit in our family.' Polly is very afraid of men with strong stern voices, and she will start to shake if anyone is getting yelled at or scolded. She hates to be left alone, although crating her with another dog has seemed to help.     Hazel is an awesome 7-year old Shepherd mix. Apparently someone put a harness on her and let her grow into it, so now, she has scars on both sides. She was originally adopted from Muskingum County pound. She has a microchip but interestingly, no one can get in touch with the owners. Even with that said, Hazel still trusts humans and is absolutely as sweet as they come. She is house trained, crate trained, good with other dogs, cats and children.     We rescued this exceptionally handsome, loving and super sweet boy from a rural high kill shelter where he ended up as a stray and was never claimed by any owner. BOWIE is a 1-2 yr old, 70 lb. Labrador Retriever. (He appears 'purebred', but without AKC papers, we legally cannot claim him as such). Bowie is very sweet, fun, submissive, eager to please/very 'praise driven'; he loves to cuddle and lean into a human to get extra close. Loves to try to catch water as you are pouring it into a bowl, and to watch television (he seems to enjoy news commentary the best). He is a strong boy who needs an active owner. Though very gentle, due to ... (Read More)his size, we encourage adopters who have children above the age of 5 years. IF the dog you're interested in adopting has medical conditions or injuries which require medical treatment, we ask that you help with the medical bills so we can continue to help the dogs coming in who need additional vet care. We are a county run shelter, therefore we cannot control our intake or the health or behavior of the dogs that come in to our shelter. Although we try our hardest to place all of our adoptable dogs, there are certain circumstances in which any dog in our care could be euthanized at any time and without further notice (IE: sudden untreatable medical condition or injury, temperament or behavioral problems which may not be apparent when the dog first arrives, lack or space, etc.), therefore all dogs at our shelter should be considered urgent. The adoption of a more highly adoptable dog will mean more time for the less adoptable dog in the kennel next to him! Shelter hours are: Monday-Friday: 8 am- 4 pm Saturday: 9 am- 12 pm. The pound is CLOSED to the public on Sunday. There is nobody in the office on Saturday and Sunday, so therefore we are unable to answer or return phone calls over the weekend. Can't adopt a dog? We would love to have more volunteers who are able to spend time with our dogs! The dogs LOVE going for walks and the socialization and exercise helps make the dogs more adoptable. Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

My name is Sugar Plum! Why you ask? Because I am as sweet as a sugar plum! I'm approximately 2 years old and I had a litter of puppies in November. They have almost all found their furever homes and now I'm ready to find mine as well! I am UTD on my shots, spayed and microchipped! I love, love, love all people including and especially children! I'm big and bouncy and strong and loving! The only hitch in my perfectness is that I'm dog selective. I would be best in an only dog home. If you could love me and my snuggles and kisses, please consider making me your BFF! You won't regret your decision! Apply to adopt Sugar Plum at ...     Hi there! My name is Rusty. I am about 3 years old & I am a toy fix terrier / chihuahua mix weighing in at 9 pounds. I got lost & ended up at the shelter and no one came looking for me. The shelter was big & loud ( I'm just a little bitty guy). Even though it was scary I came to the front of my run to ask to be pet each time someone came by. The lady from the rescue saw me & couldn't leave me there! So here is my deal: I LOVE people. If you are sitting I want to be in your lap. I love my snuggly dog bed but I love to sleep on the couch more. I am house & crate trained, I am good with dogs & cats! Do you need a little guy to snuggle with?? ... (Read More)I'm your guy!!!     In need of a good home. We rescued Cooper when he was about 6 months old, and are very sad to re-home him. Unfortunately, he has become aggressive with our small female dog and has nipped at our daughter twice. He is a sweet boy who loves to run and play. He would make a great companion for the right family. He is house Broken, has no medical issues, and does not need to be in a crate while you are away. He does not chew or destroy things, but will swallow your socks if you leave them laying around(ha).

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-12-00328Bruno (male)

Doberman Pinscher Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hello there. My name is Bruno. I'm about 3 years old and I weigh about 50 lbs. I was taken in by the pound after being found in a neglectful situation and I am now looking for a new home. I am a really wonderful, kind, gentle dog. My eyes are very soft and soulful. I am an easy going fellow. I love people and I get along well with most other dogs. I was being kept as an outside dog after my owner had passed away but the girls think I was likely an inside dog in the past because I am very good inside and I keep my kennel clean. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is ... (Read More)$120.00. The adoption fee must be paid in CASH. We are unable to accept personal checks or credit/debit cards for adoption fees. ALL dogs/puppies adopted from our shelter will receive their parvo distemper vaccine, bordetella vaccine, rabies vaccine (if aged at 12 weeks or older), be dewormed with a 3 day course of panacur dewormer, be microchipped, receive their current Ohio dog license and will be spayed or neutered. ALL DOGS/PUPPIES WILL BE SPAYED OR NEUTERED unless a health issue prohibits the surgery from being performed. Not all dogs posted for adoption are spayed/ neutered yet. If you're driving a long distance to adopt, please verify that the vetting process has been completed and dog you're interested in adopting is still available for adoption. The above mentioned vetting is all included in your adoption fee. The adoption fee and what is included in the adoption fee is NON-NEGOTIABLE. Adoptions MUST be done at the pound and in person as there is paperwork to fill out and an adoption contract that must be signed by the adopter. This means you must be willing to travel to our shelter to adopt. Public hours are Monday through Saturday from 10am-3pm, and Sunday 12-2pm. The CITY DOGS mission is to increase adoptions from ... (Read More)the City Kennel by changing the image of the pit bulls who make up the majority of the kennel population, by preparing all adoptable dogs in the kennel for lives in loving homes and by creating as many opportunities as possible for the public to meet and get to know our dogs for the terrific pets they are meant to be. (Less)

Doolittle is a 10-year-old Male Terrier Mix. When Doolittle came into Puppy Pals Rescue, he had thinning hair, skin issues, and potty issues. His foster parents, both medical professionals, discovered he has Diabetes Insipidus. (It is not like Sugar Diabetes that everyone hears about.) This means that he will have to take medicine for the rest of his life to help him regulate the water in his body. After a lot of love and time, his Insipidus, potty issues, and skin issues are under control. His foster parents feel that he is ready to find his furever home!! Doolittle has a very sweet personality and loves to cuddle up with you. He ... (Read More)loves to play fetch and really enjoys being outside when the weather is warm. He does have a little separation anxiety when he is let outside and you are not outside with him. He is crate trained. He is a "rooter" and will try to get under the blanket to relax. His foster home has other dogs, a cat, and numerous children ranging from age 5 to 21 years old. Doolittle has not been aggressive towards any of them. Doolittle has been working on basic commands and walking on a leash. He will make a great addition to any family. Please, if you are interested in Doolittle, make sure that you understand that it is a daily, life-saving medicine commitment for him with an average cost of $100 per month. You can send all inquiries regarding this to the foster home listed below. (Less)

Isabella 'Bella' is a beautiful young female puppy we found on 03-02-2017, wandering the streets in town. she was very frightened, hungry and cold. She is now enjoying the company of 12 other dogs and is absolutely wonderful to be around. She loves to lay in a lap and be cuddled, or play fetch which seems to come naturally to her, she is amazing at it. This little girl is in need of a safe environment with a loving family to take good care of her. She is definitely an indoor dog who loves to play outside. She is black with a white breast, four white paws, and a cute white tipped tail.

We adopted Diesel from the ARC in May of 2016. According to their records he will be 2 years old around September 2017.He is very adventurous and seeks alot of affection. He loves other dogs. He has went through obedience training but still shows aggressive behaviors. He does not like children and as of lately he has growled and showed teeth to a few adults. Overall he normally loves people. We have reached out to numerous rescues and organizations but none will assist us in any way. Our only option now is to take him back to the ARC where he will not be able to be adopted again. So i thought I would give this site a try for one last hope. I ... Rescue Me ID: 17-03-09-00110Osito (male)

Rhodesian Ridgeback Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Aggressive, Fearful/Anxious

Even looking at his picture with his new Rescue Me ID makes me cry. This is going to be a long post because his future family needs to know all of this about him. Osi has been a part of our family for 4 years now. He is such a sweet boy but early on after adopting him we realized he had some behavioral issues. We adopted Osi from the Tri Cities Animal Shelter in Dallas, TX when we were living there. We lived in Dallas for 2.5 years after that and have lived in Ohio for 1.5 years now. He is about 60 lbs now. We have taken him to 2 trainers and 2 behavioral vets and he has been diagnosed with general anxiety and fear aggression. He ... (Read More)started exhibiting these behaviors when he was about 6 months old. Up until then we brought him many places (restaurants, patios and friends homes) as well as had people over frequently. Then one day, while we were at a sports bar watching a football game he snapped at a waiter. The waiter went so far as to say Osi bit him but he did not puncture the man's leg - he just got close enough to basically graze the man with his paw or teeth. It happened so fast we were unsure of what happened. After this incident is when we called our second trainer (the first trainer was someone we had called when we first got him to teach a few obedience items). This second trainer focused on corrective training, so we used the word no and a prong collar as our methods of teaching him. This seemed to work for a little while but as time went on we started to think this was simply stopping the behavior and not addressing the real issue. Furthermore, we thought it was teaching him to stop giving us any leading signs such as staring, growling, barking and lead straight to lunging. While still using this form of training we would have people come over but they would be instructed to ignore him completely (no eye contact, no reaching to pet him, no calling his name - let him come to you). This worked pretty well and he would generally be okay but unfortunately we had another incident when we had a Christmas gathering at my husband's family's home. Osi is okay with everyone when they are doing one thing when he is introduced to the situation (ex. everyone is sitting in the living room, everyone is standing outside). But once someone does something different (ex. stand up from the couch, crouches down to tie a shoe) he becomes very frightened. This is what happened in our second situation. We were all sitting in the living room and a 10 year old boy got up from the couch and Osi bit at him. Again did not puncture the boy's leg but this time did leave a red scratch mark. After this incident we took him to a behavioral vet for some additional help. The behavioral vet at OSU decided we should go with a positive approach to training as opposed to the negative approach we had been using. So now, he is treated with high value foods every time he sees a person or something that puts him on edge. This seems to be working the best however he still slips into his old ways and he is still not a dog we feel safe keeping in our home when we have our baby (end of May). Over the past summer we took him to a cabin on the lake with my parents and he was for the most part fine (we had him on a leash and treated him heavily whenever we knew people were going to get up, sit down, etc) However, he still became afraid of my parents a couple times on the trip and barked at them. Osi is a very good dog. He's very loving with us and very smart. All throughout these years he has gone to daycare and been boarded and both places LOVED him. He is not food or toy aggressive and he doesn't tear up toys/pillows/anything he's not supposed to. He loves bones, kongs and squeaky tennis balls. He's very receptive to hearing his name and being told he is a good boy. He is also of course very food motivated and knows how to sit, shake, lie down, roll over and spin for a piece of string cheese, lick of cream cheese, peanut butter or Orijen/Fresh Pet nugget. He is currently on a daily dose of sertraline. We have tried to keep him in a crate while we are home and it seems to distress him more. Even though he is afraid of people, he does love company. Even if he is just sleeping, he likes to be in the rooms we are in. Same goes for being outside. He's not a dog that begs to go outside and play by himself. He loves to be outside but with us. Even when he goes out to the backyard for a restroom break he prefers that we are with him. We just don't think Osi will be happy in our home always separated from us once we have the baby. And we don't feel like he will be able to handle a baby/toddler/child in the home. Osi needs a patient, experienced special needs dog owner, trainer or vet to take care of him. You will love him once you two bond as we have loved him all these years. It breaks our hearts to let him go. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 17-03-09-00098Mocha (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Mocha is a good girl. We adopted her in 2014 from a shelter. Mocha lives to protect her family - maybe to a fault. She does a great job with our two small children. She is house-broken and crate-trained (or was). Two things that Mocha needs some help with: 1) Mocha is super-protective of her family. I believe she would die protecting us. But that fierce loyalty does not extend to human guests in our house. This is becoming more of an issue as our kids (5 and 6) more frequently bring their little friends over. Mocha has NOT bitten anyone. But she is aggressive about protecting her family, her home and her yard (we had to get an ... (Read More)Invisible Fence). She is aggressive to guests to the point that she has to be caged when we have kids over to play. But once she meets a new person, she settles eventually and is fine. 2) Mocha has recently (within the last month or so) developed separation anxiety. Now that the kids are older, we are doing more things outside of the house. She would LOVE to live with someone that doesn't leave her frequently or for long periods of time. That is why I say she WAS crate-trained. She used to do a great job when we left for an outing. She would walk right into her crate when she saw us putting on shoes/coats, etc. Now this behavior is regressing. Otherwise, Mocha is very loving, in good health and definitely deserves another chance at adoption. She would really benefit from a trained handler that better understands what she needs and how to help her. I believe that with time and training her issues can be overcome. I am trying to avoid surrendering her to our local county shelter. (Less)

Hi! I'm Joker! I am about a year old & I weigh 50 pounds. I am a Weimaraner/Pit mix and I have beautiful amber eyes that will melt your heart. I have a sleek tan coat and I feel like velvet. A few months ago, my life wasn't the greatest and I lived in a home with people that didn't take care of me. The nice people at the shelter took me away and gave me to HALO. HALO helped me recover from happy tail and sensitive skin. My tail is shorter now because I got it amputated, but I think it makes me look so handsome. I LOVE to play at doggie daycare with all of my dog friends and I love even more to snuggle with my foster mom. She says I'm a ... (Read More)goof ball and my name fits my personality. I must confess that I do love to chase cats, I don't hurt them but I just want to play! I love everyone! My favorite things to do is to play with other dogs, play with my toys, take car ride, take walks, and to take naps in my recliner. I would love to be in a home with another dog but no cats . I would love to have a family who will love me as much as my foster mom does! I am heart worm negative, vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, housebroken, crate trained, and I know my basic commands. Rescue Me ID: 17-03-07-00161Ezra (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi there. My name is Ezra. I'm a sweet older girl of about 50 lbs. Sadly, I had to be removed from my home due to no fault of my own and I am now looking for a new family to love. I am a wonderful, sweet, well mannered dog. I seem to be housebroken and I keep my kennel spotless at night. I get along well with most other dogs. I do better with male dogs than females. I should meet any new dogs that would be in my new family just to make sure we all get along. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $120.00. The adoption fee must be paid in CASH. We are unable to accept ... (Read More)personal checks or credit/debit cards for adoption fees. Are you looking for a unique dog that will not only keep you on your toes but also keep you laughing? Well then Sasha is for you! Not only is she unique looking but her moves and abilities are almost cat-like. This gorgeous girl is Sasha. She is about 8 months old and so full of love and life. She is good with other dogs after proper introductions; cats are still up for debate. Sasha is kennel trained and 90% house trained. Her previous owner let her roam the neighborhood then abandoned her when he thought she was pregnant. Luckily a neighbor took pity on her and got her off the streets. Unfortunately the neighbor couldn't keep and ... (Read More)surrendered her to a shelter. When the shelter believed her to be pregnant, she was scheduled to be euthanized. Fate stepped in and Paw Patrol saved her beautiful soul. Needless to say, she was not pregnant. Sasha is heartworm negative, spayed, and dewormed. Sasha is very active and agile so needs a fenced yard with lots of toys and room to run and play. She hasn't been tested with kids but her foster family thinks she will be ok with older kids that will play with her. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted. Our adoption process begins by filling out an application at our website http://pawpatroldayton.com/adoptable-dogs/. Your application will be reviewed. Then your vet and personal references will be contacted. Approved applicants will be contacted for a meet-n-greet in the order applications are received. Then there is a home visit and then the adoption. The amount of time the adoption process takes varies. We are an all volunteer rescue. Please understand we are all doing our rescue work outside of our jobs, families, and other commitments. It takes time to contact references, to schedule meet-n-greets, home checks & adoptions that work with your schedule, as well as, ours. Please be patient with us during this process. Pit Bull Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant

This sweet soul has not had an easy life. She lived outdoors most of her life and was then abandoned when her owners moved. We are partnering up with Ruff Transport to find this girl an amazing forever home. Ruff Transport is paying for her heartworm treatment (because sadly she is heartworm positive) and her spay. We will just be helping network and possibly foster her after her treatment is done. She is a smaller Pit Bull but weighs in at a surprising 49lbs. She is so sweet. Has been around a small child and a teenager with her original owners. She has walked by children on a leash and been nothing but tail wags. She has not been anything ... (Read More)but friendly to everyone. The vets office staff loved her. Freedom lets them do all the procedures without an issue. She does well with other dogs. Honestly, she is the poster child for Pitties. She walks very well on a leash and next to other dogs. She is housebroken and will not go potty on cement or in a crate. She is getting more confident now, but used to drink every drop out of water bowls and not want to be outside alone. She is a very calm dog. She just wants to sit by you and sleep. She has free access in the house now (supervised of course to be sure she is calm due to heart worm treatment). She does not get over excited when loose so it has worked great. Very sweet personality and very dog friendly. Greets everything she meets with a wagging tail. Great with all people young and old. Freedom was cat tested and did very well with the cats laying around, but did get excited when one darted away. Has never had an accident in the house. Freedom walks great on a leash, rides well in the car. She wants to be with people. She loves toys. Her foster says she has medium energy level. She's not big on being in a crate and because of this she can be a bit of an escape artist. her foster says she does well being left out so far. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted. Freedom's adoption fee is $150 Our adoption process begins by filling out an application at our website http://pawpatroldayton.com/adoptable-dogs/. Your application will be reviewed.     This adorable pocket pittie has had a rough life, but is now living the dream. When she was found as a stray, she was skinny, heartworm positive, and had a previously broken front leg. We have treated her heartworm, had her spayed and vetted, and fattened her right on up! She is such a sweet girl - she loves to cuddle on the couch for hours. Rescue Me ID: 17-03-06-00090Buddy Collins (male)

German Shepherd Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Not Good with Other Dogs
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi there. My name is Buddy Collins. I am 5 years old and I weigh about 60 lbs. **URGENT** I need to find a new home soon! I am not doing well here at the shelter! I was surrendered to the pound by my owner. I was tied up outside and the flies were eating my ears. Literally. My ears were bloody, raw, infected and very very sore. My owners were given time to take me to the vet and they failed to do so, so when the girl from the pound came back out a second time, they ended up signing me over. I am a nice boy. I have had no training at all since I have been a puppy. I used to be a house dog when I was a puppy... but then I got big... so they ... (Read More)tied me outside. I am a loving boy. I like to go for walks and spending time with my people. I haven't been well socialized, so the people at the pound say they're not sure how I would be around young, rambunctious children, but I should be just fine with calm, older children. I will likely require some house training as I have been an outside dog for so long. I do not get along with other dogs, so I will need to be the only pet with my new family. If you're looking for a sweet dog to add to your family, please consider adopting me. Our adoption fee is $120.00. The adoption fee must be paid in CASH. Froggy is a very sweet, shy boy, who came in with a skin condition and is currently getting treatment. 7th St. Cleveland, OH 44113. Public hours are Monday ... (Read More)through Saturday from 10am-3pm, and Sunday 12-2pm. (Less)
