My name is Gutter. I am a Pit Bull. I have been abused, neglected and locked in a 4x4 pen with a cement floor. I was only fed occasionally. My owner cut my ears with scissors. Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Hi there, my name is Hank. I'm an 8 month old, purebred Treeing Walker Coonhound. I was seized from my owner -along with 29 other dogs- by the pound due to our living conditions and lack of proper care necessary for our well being. I'm a very sweet, loving and very handsome boy. I LOVE other dogs and I am very playful. I am very social with other dogs. I LOVE playing in water and being around other dogs. I may need some housebreaking and should maybe be crated when you leave the house, at least until you get to know me and my behaviors because some of us coonies are notorious for being naughty. I need a home with a patient, loving family ... (Read More)that will let me live inside the house with them so I can be a part of the family. I deserve that. If you're interested in adopting a beautiful, sweet hound dog, please consider adopting me. I appear to be in good health. I have been given my Parvo/ Distemper vaccine and I have been dewormed with panacur dewormer. PLEASE CONSIDER THIS DOG, AS WELL AS ALL THE OTHER DOGS AT OUR SHELTER AS URGENT. OUR KENNEL SPACE HERE AT THE POUND IS VERY LIMITED. THIS DOG COULD BE EUTHANIZED WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE ANY TIME AFTER JUNE 30, 2015. HERE AT THE COLUMBIANA COUNTY DOG POUND, WE TRY VERY HARD TO PLACE ALL OF OUR ADOPTABLE DOGS IN TO LOVING HOMES OR SEND THEM TO GREAT, APPROVED RESCUE GROUPS, HOWEVER, WE CAN ONLY KEEP OUR DOGS HERE AT THE POUND AS LONG AS SPACE ALLOWS. She needs to be the only pet in the household and have ample room to run. I live in a one bedroom apartment in the city and can not give her the attention that she requires. She will snuggle you and give you kisses endlessly. She understands sit, lay, roll over, high five, stay, wait. She is very eager to learn and a very smart dog. She should be placed with someone who understands the pitbull breed, for she has a strong personality.

Meet Remington! She is unfortunately looking for a new home because her mommy and daddy are expecting their first human baby in December and Remmy (we call her for short) is not fond of little people. She is a very sweet and loyal dog. She is good with her sister (her parents other dog) and her grandparents other dog so I believe she will get along with other dogs after she gets used to them. I can honestly write an entire book on her! Let me know if you're interested or have any questions!

Petra is a sweet wonderful girl! When you first greet her she has her ears and head down, very submissive, almost shy; I think the only reason she hasn't adopted yet is she is shy and gets over looked; she does not jump or bark looking for attention; she is very intelligent as are all border collies; this breed typically does refrain from the jumping/barking and calling attention to themselves; she is great on the leash and likes to play; she is not shy once you take her out of kennel;would be great with kids!Anyone who gets this girl is going to be lucky they got her first! Rescue Me ID: 15-06-27-00166Bowie (male)

Cocker Spaniel Mix    Age: Adult

Bowie was adopted from a shelter when he was about 2 years old. We have no idea how he ended up in a shelter but his adoptive family ended up getting a divorce and wasn't able to take Bowie with them. He is a great dog and they just couldn't stand the thought of him being in a shelter so they asked us to take him. It was important to them that Bowie went to a foster home. Bowie is house trained, crate trained, good with everything he meets... cats, dogs, kids. He is a very laid back dog. He walks fine a leash too. You can't help but laugh when you look at Bowie. His tongue is too big for his mouth so it is always hanging out :-) ... (Read More)Age: 6 years adoption fee: $150 (Less)

Jack Russell Mix    Age: Puppy

Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Lilly is a young Jack Russell Terrier mix about a year old. She is a happy little girl that wants to love and please her family. She likes to play with toys as she learns what is appropriate to chew on and what is not. She will also play fetch and bring the ball back to you. She is smart and learns quickly. A simple NO does the trick when she is doing something she shouldn't. Lilly comes when called, will sit on command and is learning to give paw. She is doing great with potty training and has not had any accidents in her foster home since the first day. She is crate trained and is totally fine in her crate when her foster mom ... (Read More)is at work. Lilly is a great size at just about 20 pounds: not too big, not too small. She will play independently but also loves to cuddle on your lap. She is not very fond of cats. There are 2 cats in her foster home, and she seems to be intimidated by them and yet compelled to chase them. Lilly is going to make a new family very happy. She will make you smile often throughout the day with her %BD%BD%BD%BD%BD%BDsilliness and cuteness. And . . . her all white eye lashes are simply adorable! Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Sweet Annabelle came to the shelter after being rescued from a bad situation. She is very, very shy with new people but once she feels comfortable she is a happy wiggle butt. Because of her shyness she is being overlooked but I promise you, the sad face you see in this picture is not the true Annabelle. She loves other dogs and would probably benefit from having a canine companion. She still has some hair loss but is improving every day. Who wants to show this precious face what life as a dog should be?

Hello, my name is Meatball. I am one handsome boy, who will keep you laughing. I have a really goofy personality and I like to be vocal. I love to be shown affection and I know how to sit like a good boy for a treat. I am an active boy who seems to have a hyper side so I will need a strong handler. I seem to do well with other dogs but I will definitely need to be the dominant dog in the pack. I have been cat tested and I did not seem to be bothered by the cats. Dachshund Mix    Age: Adult

Personality: High Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Vaccinations Current

Duke is adorable, can be very snuggly and entertaining. He loves my 7 year old daughter and is VERY protective of her. He is very agressive and has bitten my oldest (20 year old) daughter and 2 of the neighbor kids. His bites haven't broke the skin but scared the kids badly. Duke has killed baby squirrels and birds in our yard. He came to us as an adoption from a shelter and even though he is trained to go to his cage when we are not home, we still have potty issues. He is a great guard dog, but definitely needs a fenced in yard or he will chase anyone who passes by the house.

Bluetick Coonhound Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current, Heartworm Positive

I spent the day today with Axel and can say without a doubt he will make someone's family complete. He's a beautiful 5 year old Bluetick Coonhound/Labrador Retriever mix who has it all. He's housetrained, is exceptionally sweet and easygoing, and is very smart. He knows basic commands such as sit, down and shake and does them willingly even if he isn't bribed with treats. Speaking of treats, he takes them gently like a very good boy. He's a large, strong dog so I found that an Easy Walk harness curbed any attempts to pull and he walked beautifully on lead with this harness. Axel's only fault and it's not really something he had a choice ... (Read More)in, is that he is heartworm positive. The cost of treatment varies widely from veterinarian to veterinarian so I am asking you all to please consider giving Axel a home of his own and the heartworm treatment he needs to survive. His adoption fee has been waived so that money can be applied towards treatment and he is one dog that is definitely worth the investment. Please stop out to the shelter and meet him very soon. He needs a family. Signed, Axel's #1 Fan, APL Volunteer Denise (Less)

Bullet was brought into the vet hospital where I work after being shot for euthanasia. He had a shattered front leg, a broken toe, and a large wound on his hip and was undernourished. Even with being in pain he had the kindest eyes and while working with him he was so sweet and cooperative that I iust couldn't bear to see him euthanized.     Lady is a 4 1/2yr old Pug/Boxer mix who was rescued from a shelter 4yrs ago. There are other dogs in the home, and she has recently begun attacking them for unknown reasons. The owner has also recently been having health problems, so between her high energy, and her turning aggressive towards other dogs, her owner can no longer handle her. There was talk of having her put down, however, since the aggression is not towards humans, they decided just to rehome her.

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Howdy, my name is Mr. Petey. I am a 2 year old Boston Terrier mix - who the rescue was told was mixed with Shih-Tzu. I'm a big fella by Puppy Pals standards - weighing in at 28 lbs. I am black and white. I have a long white mane around my neck. It makes me look like I have a fur collar around my neck. %A0 I was picked up as a stray out in a field down in the Centerville area by a local dog warden. I was staying at the shelter and no one came to claim me, so I was just waiting for my fate. Mr. Russ and Linda came by to check out some other dogs and noticed how sweet that I appeared and wanted to save me. So now I'm with ... (Read More)Puppy Pals Rescue. %A0 I have been neutered, heartworm and fecal tested, received all my shots and have been micro-chipped. Now... I'm looking for my forever home. %A0 One of my favorite things is running out in the yard and rolling on my back in the grass - it feels so good. Many thanks to PPR because I might not have had that opportunity again! %A0 My foster parents have learned that I should probably be the only dog in my new home. The only possibility would be if your other dog was very laid-back. The say it appears that I like all the attention and I can be toy aggressive at times. Everyone who meets me loves me, but if another dog was in the family, we would need to spend time together to be sure we are compatible. %A0 I love my foster parents and love to play. If you sit on the floor I will come over and get in your lap. I am just a big doggie baby. %A0 I like to ride in the car and I walk great on a leash. I will make the right home a wonderful and faithful companion. %A0 If you have any questions please contact my foster mom at the link found at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Dogs_Petey1518.html.%A0 Fill out an application if you are interested in adopting me - you can find those at http://puppypalsrescue.com/Applications.html %A0(Email my foster home to let them know you applied so they can make sure the application is received!)     BUNNY has finally been surrendered to the shelter and is now ready to find a new forever home. He has been at the shelter for a long period of time and would like nothing more than the opportunity to find a new home. His old home had a few kids in it and he would probably do well in a new home with children as well. He does well out on a leash and when having the opportunity to play in the yard.     Chance is a 1.5 year old puppy. He is hyper but truly lovable. We had an incident where he got aggressive with our 6 year old and sadly we feel he can't stay with us. He barks and growls at strangers. He needs a place he can get a lot of his energy out. He needs someone willing to train him. He has so much to offer and I know he can be a good dog to someone that can train him properly! Please don't let our baby die :(

Hi! My name is Daisy. I came to live with my current foster parents because my previous owners could no longer care for me due to new restrictions on their apartment lease. I love to walk around with a smile on my face and my tail wagging. My foster mom says I am one of the sweetest/happiest furry friends she has ever met. I can be a bit shy when I first meet human friends or furry friends, but have done really well with socializing and have become a lot more outgoing and not nearly as shy. I love to play fetch and explore new things. Taking walks is one of my favorite things to do so I will need to go to a home with active humans. Now ... (Read More)don't let that fool you, I can also take nice long naps at anytime during the day. I love to cuddle with both human and furry friends and am the first one to give sloppy kisses. My foster mom says my personality has blossomed over the past two weeks. I love my two foster brothers and would love it if my new home had furry friends too, but if not that's ok, I am fine with either situation! I am housebroken and spend the day hanging out in my crate when my foster parents are at work. I don't mind hanging out in my crate, in fact, I don't even whine or cry when they leave (side note: I love peanut butter!). I know basic commands and am very smart. I pick up on new things very easily. I hope to find a furrever home very soon! Please let my foster parents know if you can be my forever human. I can't wait to meet you!! Paws and Kisses, Daisy (Less)

Sasha is a sweetie we rescued with a senior that was her kennel mate. Although our rescue tries to focus on the seniors, Sasha had run out of time in the high-kill shelter she was in, and we rescued her. She is a smaller medium sized girl, extremely smart and well trained, listens well, plays hard and vocally and can be somewhat a dominant & rough player, but no harm is ever intended by her. She 'sounds' as if she is growling when she plays, but she is just lending voice to her actions. We are guessing at her mix of breeds, as we truly don't know. She's a little than than 2 years old, HW negative, loves car rides, great on a leash, people ... (Read More)lover and pleaser, and a great protector. Leo is a great, affection dog that does not require alot attention. He appears more aggressive towards men. He is trained by commands. I have to surrender Leo as his periodic shedding irritates my medical condition. He gets along great with my 5 year old female Schnoodle. Follows commands and enjoys playing with his toys.
