Rescue Me ID: 14-09-02-00156Rueben (male)

Anatolian Shepherd Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Rueben is very loving, still likes to play like a puppy but is gentle with kids and is obedient (can sit, stay, shake). We need to re-home him due to his wandering nature...he likes to wander but always comes back home after an hour or so. His size frightens some neighbors although he just wants to play. Ideally he needs lots of land and other dogs to play with.

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-31-00228Stream (male)

Border Terrier Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Stream, at only 11 weeks old and about 4.5 lbs (is estimated to be full grown at about 12 - 14 lbs), was facing the end of his life before it ever began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this puppy...they rescued Stream just in time. Stream is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of his puppy temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to ... (Read More)Colorado and a new life. He's also incredibly beautiful...with the softest of fawn coloring with that distinguished black muzzle. Stream is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's very smart...very typical of the cross of a Border/Cairn Terrier. He's so bright with that Terrier curiosity and cuteness... and so loving. He clearly has no memory of his scary start. Since Stream is just a baby, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome adult companion - he will form firm bonds with his family (as well as other dogs & humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Socialization Class followed by group Obedience Classes. It only requires a few minutes of practice each day...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with great behavior. We're open to Stream finding his forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. Stream loves children as well but we would prefer to place him in a home with older kids that can participate in a gentle yet consistent puppy training regiment. Stream will be up to date on his vetting. He was considered to be too young to be neutered in Texas. Farfel's will be happy to cover Stream's neutering/microchip costs when he gets a bit older. Stream is the product of 2 breeds that generally aren't shedders. He doesn't appear to shed at this point but due to his young age, we don't feel we can guarantee his suitability for an individual with severe allergy challenges. Stream will arrive on transport in Denver on 9/5/14. Dalmatian Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Spayed, Needs Vaccinations

Pongo & Perdita are two mixed breed dogs that came to us from New Mexico. These two love each other! They will lay with one another and nuzzle each other. Thought to be litter mates, both about 2-3 years old. Pongo & Perdita are thought to be maybe a Dalmatian and English Pointer cross, but its hard to say. These two are very friendly and are just aching for attention. They sit in front of you waiting for a pet after their breakfast. These two are not the best with other dogs and would love to be in a home, together, with no one else but their people to love on them. Pongo & Perdita are both fixed.     Mouse is a very shy, cute little border collie/blue heeler mix. She came to us from Kansas as a stray and was said to be a pointer mix. Mouse loves to herd! She will round up her kennel mates and proudly announce that she has done so. Mouse would make a great companion to anyone who wants a friend. She is sweet and loving and loves to be pet. Mouse is a leaper and will jump over a fence. We are hoping that once Mouse finds a place to call her own, this habit will disappear. But in the meantime, Mouse requires a very secure fence. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-28-00474Pepper/Daisy (female)

Bullmastiff Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We are very sad to be re-homing our two dogs, Pepper and Daisy. They are extremely attached to each other and must go to a home willing to take both of them. They require a large, fenced in yard and can live with children and other animals. They enjoy being outside and play hard together, but they need a home that treats them as family members, as they are very affectionate and loving towards people. Pepper is 11 months old and Daisy is 13 months. Pepper is a small Bull Mastiff mix, they believe she is mixed with an Australian Sheppard. We were told Daisy is a pure bred Yellow Lab, but she does not have papers. Pepper is very good on a ... (Read More)leash, but Daisy needs work on it. They both do well with camping and outdoor activities off-leash and know basic commands. They have lived in a home with a toddler and a cat and do extremely well with both. Pepper in up to date on all shots and has been going to the vet regularly since she was 8 weeks. Daisy was rescued recently and we do not have her medical history, so she needs to go to the vet. We think that Daisy may have been abused, but she has adjusted very well being with us. She is afraid of the vacuum and thunder. but she is getting better. She also requires a feeding schedule, as she will overeat if given the chance. We absolutely hate having to find a new home for them, but unfortunately, my husbands new job requires too much travel for us to properly care for them. We have had a pet sitter more often than not this year and we want them to have the love and attention they need. Please do not contact if you are not interested in taking both dogs. (Less)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Please say hello to Beatty! We think that Beatty is some sort of terrier/pit mix and she's probably 5+ years old. That is just a guess as she has a little grey around her muzzle but it doesn't detract from her pretty coat! She is very sweet and loves to be around people. She does well around other dogs, but she's not that great with cats. Beatty loves being outside and thoroughly enjoys hiking and hitting up the dog park with her foster mom! She does great on a leash and is house/crate trained too! Beatty's foster mom has done an amazing job training her so we know she'll make a wonderful addition to any family! Beatty was rescued from a ... (Read More)high-kill animal shelter and is eagerly awaiting her loving forever home. She was heart worm positive when she first came to us, but we have successfully treated her and she is now good to go! She is current on all vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and dewormed. Our adoption process begins with you meeting Beatty. Feel free to schedule a play date with her and your existing dog(s). After you fill out an application, we will verify your references and do a brief home inspection. If all goes well, we will deliver Beatty to you for a small adoption fee. You will also have the option to purchase a large wire kennel for an additional fee. We then ask that you sign our adoption contract. We will do a brief follow-up visit approximately two weeks to one month after the adoption to insure that Beatty is adjusting well to her new home and that she is happy and healthy. We feel our adoption process is the best way to vet good owners and to guard against people seeking dogs for dog fighting, bait dogs, and/or dog sales. We only have our rescue dogs' best interest in mind and we do everything we can to insure that they go to the very best home and that it's the perfect fit. Animal ID: 54412Willow (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Willow has been in our family going on 5-years now. We adopted her from the Adams County Animal Shelter when they had a special 'adoption event' at the Longmont Athletic Club on Valentine's Day, 2009. We were informed when we adopted her that this breed was needful of frequent daily exercise, dominant with other animals, and better in families with older children---- all of these points were a good 'fit' and acceptable to us, and we looked forward to being able to have Willow accompany us on hikes and bike rides for her daily exercise quotient. I said Willow is 'quirky', in that she has a personality that reflects that she had been at ... (Read More)the shelter for over a year, having been surrendered by her original owner as too problematic with young children and other animals in that household---- we also suspect that she was abused by someone in her early life, as she was frightened of garden tools (a horrifying thought!). She had obviously been kept penned-up for too much of her early life, as when we introduced her to snow, and water, she was very apprehensive at first, but delighted in each new experience as she overcame her initial caution. It has been a real joy to see her develop into a loyal, protective dog through our persistent efforts to train her at some basic obedience skills, and generous applications of loving attention. She is typical of her breed in that she is very alert and obviously smart/intelligent--- she responds well to many commands which are necessary for us to go on bike rides with her off leash, like 'wait' at street crossings, 'slow-down' when she gets a little too far ahead, 'stay close' when we pass other people/dogs on the trail. We have come to the reluctant decision that we need to find a new owner/home for Willow, as I have had some major medical events in the past year that severely limit my abilities to give her the concerted exercise she needs to stay healthy and happy. Specifically, I have had a below-the-knee amputation, and am now outfitted with a prosthetic leg, and that means that most of the exercising Willow gets is with my wife, who has her own limitations. We have come to the conclusion that because of my physical condition, we are not now able to give Willow the time and attention she really needs to thrive. (Less)

Maltese Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Submissive
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We've since had a third baby and it's really thrown our poor little Milo off. He's fallen into a pretty good fit of depression that we've tried to remedy with help from vets, animal communicators...you name it. So, after a LOT of thought and guidance, we've decided that our best option at this point is to re-home Milo. It hurts my heart to do that, but I just don't have the capacity to love him and give him the attention that he needs right now. Also, he's not great with little kids and with three kids in my life now, that's not working too well. Milo is a sweetheart of a dog - super cuddly with the potential to be really happy again!

Gambit Border Collie / Great Pyrenees mix Male 2 years old 82 lbs. Did you know that Great Pyrenees make really good doggy ninjas? It's true! For instance, while I - a handsome, adoptable Pyrenees/Collie mix - always start out sleeping next to my foster family's bed, I use my super ninja skills to end up sleeping in the bed, cuddled up with my humans. Very sneaky of me, yes? Gambit's the name and being near people is my game! The awesome folks at PawsCo are helping me find a forever home that can fit all 82 lbs. of my pure love. Not a lot is known about my past, but that doesn't bother me one bit! I focus on living and loving in the ... (Read More)present. Dogs, cats, kids, treats - I love them all (especially the treats). You should have seen me at the Denver Pet Expo! I was a star! I mean, how often do you combine the gorgeous multi-color coat of a Border Collie with the size and mellow attitude of a Pyrenees? Similar to my unique X-Men namesake, I steal hearts wherever I go. Since I do not have a ton of experience living in a house, I would love a family with the time and patience to help me become the best canine citizen possible. I have already mastered the basics, such as which bathroom is mine (the outside one!). Pleasing my people is my absolute favorite thing in the world, so I bet that I would be amazing at learning exciting tricks, especially if you motivate me with one or two or twelve treats. Hey, I'm a big guy! So if you are looking for a body-pillow in the form of a fluffy, lovable dog, look no further! Just send the folks at PawsCo an email at adopt@pawscoadoptions.org or fill out an adoption application on their website. I can't wait to meet ya! (Less)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Puppy

There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! Boo, at only 14 weeks old and about 7 lbs (is estimated to be full grown at about 12 - 14 lbs), was facing the end of his life before it ever began. Farfel's Texas rescuers are compassionate and loving and couldn't turn their back on this puppy...they rescued Boo just in time. Boo is starting out with great energy...the excellent results of his temperament-testing ended with a transport ticket to Colorado and a new ... (Read More)life. He's also incredibly beautiful...with the purest of white and striking caramel that have come out since he received a good, sudsy bath after his release from the shelter. We'll post a photo of the clean and gorgeous Boo just as soon as we get one. Boo is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's so smart...very typical of the cross of a Doxie and a Beagle. He's bright and so loving...clearly having no memory of his scary start. Since Boo is just a baby, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion - he would form firm bonds with his family (as well as other dogs & humans) and learn positive socialization skills through Puppy Socialization Class followed by group Obedience Classes. It does take time and commitment...yet pays off a thousand times over when you have a dog that can accompany you in the world with appropriate behavior. We're open to Boo finding his forever home with a retired couple or individual with lots of energy to train and enjoy a puppy. Boo loves gentle children as well but we would prefer to place him in a home with older kids that can participate in a gentle yet consistent puppy training regiment. Boo is considered to be a bit too young to neuter in Texas. He will be up to date on his vetting/vaccinations and Farfel's will be happy to cover payment for Boo's neuter and microchip in Denver if our vet is used. Boo will arrive on transport in Denver on 8/22. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional and kind companion and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.     Andre Labrador Retriever/Mastiff Mix Male 2 years old 60 lbs. Pleased to meet you, sirs and madams! I'm Andre, and I'll be your guide today. We take manners seriously around here; I'll politely ask that you remain on the path and follow the assigned route. I'm very experienced in my position as Head Tour Guide, so if you have any questions or would like to see any of my tricks, please just raise your hand and I'll call on you. My background in tennis ball chasing began when I was just a pup, and I'm proud to say that I've become quite the dog toy expert. Although I'm a youngster, I'm exceptionally smart and learn quickly - how many dogs ... (Read More)do you know who will listen when you ask them to go 'slow' ... and actually do it!? That's me, Andre the Giant (giant smartypants, that is)! I'm quite the love bug - affectionate and SUPER happy snuggling with my family. However I should mention that I'm not a huge fan of new people coming into my space. I am more interested in spending quiet time with the people I love. Strangers in my domain make me a little uneasy. My foster family describes me as quite possibly the most snugglicious dog they've ever met - and I don't mind sounding like a big teddy bear. I'm smart, loving with my family, and I enjoy hanging with new dogs when I can play with them outside my own space. I have pretty high standards for my own house, but if you take me to doggie daycare, where I don't have to play tour guide, I will let loose and be my goofball self! I'm hoping to find a family looking for the strong, silent type who really can appreciate the depth of my love - it doesn't come out in large crowds or at big parties. I'm a family man - smart and obedient, but serious about keeping a close eye on my humans. My favorite thing is to just snuggle up after a good long play session and show my family how much I love them. Are you looking for a 'still waters run deep' kind of guy to join your pack? Let's set up a meeting and I'll show off some of my tricks. I hope we'll be a match. Email adopt@pawscoadoptions.org to set up a date! (Less)

Beagle Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There are many, many Beagle lovers in the dog world...they're considered to be one of the most desirable breeds. This is due to their consistently great temperaments and overall intelligence. There's also no question that they're strikingly beautiful with their silky-soft coats with the gorgeous markings and their soft and expressive eyes. Edgar is an unusually striking Beagle with chocolate and golden touches shining through his coat..gorgeous! Edgar is 9 - 12 months old and just about 25 lbs... and so kind and waggy with all the dogs and humans that he got temperament tested with. He seems to have overcome any ill feelings and appears ... (Read More)to be at peace regarding the challenges of his early life. The Beagle mix is a solid combination both physically and in stability of temperament. It is for this reason that they seem to acclimate and be outstanding family members no matter their past lives. It's safe to say that Edgar has learned to live in harmony with every kind of being...he seems to have derived a true calmness and peace from overcoming the trials of his previous life. We feel strongly that Edgar's forever family should have the motivation to continue his socialization and offer him the gift of positive reinforcement group obedience training classes. Through these clear boundaries and leadership by his humans, Edgar will emerge as a well-adjusted and very bonded companion. He's so gorgeous both inside and out that he deserves a family that appreciates the gift of his temperament and is willing to show him boundaries through love and time spent. We are searching for committed retirees or a family with older children (12+) who spend lots of time at home as a forever situation for Edgar. He would enjoy the time spent together and would blossom with a family that considers their dog a valued member of their family. Edgar reportedly had very little car experience prior to his rescue%BD'%BD|.now he's growing to be a champ. This skill is easily worked with through crating and treats...especially as he gets the idea that a car ride can mean a walk, a hike or a fun day at a dog-friendly spot with his favorite people and dogs. We feel that Edgar would enjoy the company of a fun dog-friend (or cat..he seems to have no problem accepting them) but it's not mandatory for his happiness...it's more the companionship of a truly loving guardian. Edgar will return this loyalty and devotion a thousand times over. Edgar will develop a stunning coat over a short period of time...through sudsy baths, consistent brushing and great nutrition..Edgar will proudly strut his stuff and show off the amazing markings on his beautiful and healthy Beagle coat . Edgar will arrive on transport in Denver on 8/22. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/.     We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Rose and her sister Dahlia...she could see that their temperaments were so kind and calm that she couldn't allow them to be euthanized. Rose is the kind of very endearing puppy that will lie in your arms and give a periodic loving kiss... couldn't be sweeter. Rose was immediately brought to be vetted and was brought to a great Houston foster home ... (Read More)to receive pure love and begin her education. It turns out that Rose, at only 8 weeks old and 7 lbs (expected to be approximately 15 lbs when full-grown) is very calm and yet so puppy silly that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for her foster mom. Rose's like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around her and she's incredibly entertaining when she gets going. If Rose continues this regimen of socialization that promotes positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...she will become a well-adjusted and very bonded companion. Rose is a gorgeous long-haired Doxie mix puppy (although we can't see anything but Doxie, we assume there's a bit of something else in there) with a shining coat that speaks of good health. Her calm demeanor is just who she is...she just appears to be more analytical than your average crazy puppy. If Rose is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, she will become a well-adjusted girl who respects her people as her leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for Rose. We also feel it's very important that Rose is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. She would be overjoyed with walking along Colorado paths and enjoying the sunshine. We'd like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Rose can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany her family just about anywhere. Rose will be arriving in Denver unfixed due to her very young age...Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to Rose's spay, microchip and any additional puppy shots she might require. Beagle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

It seems that everyone loves Beagles and Beagle mixes (they rank in the top 5 of the most popular breeds). We do...especially if they're as sweet and so very loving as Francie . She was acknowledged at a high-kill Texas shelter for having a great personality and being so wonderful to love on and cuddle. This recognition is a tough feat considering this facility holds up to 500 dogs with a very high daily turn-in rate. Francie, at 2.5 - 3 years old and just about 14 lbs is an exceptionally beautiful Beagle. You can tell when you look into her golden eyes that her short life has held sadness and challenges..but she would never be one to ... (Read More)carry that around. Francie absolutely loves women (and grows to love men as well) While initially very shy...give her a moment! Francie's great energy makes you melt. As she trusts more and more and before you know it, this gorgeous Beagle is in your lap letting you know you are her number 1 love! We can't think of a better or more devoted companion for a retired female or a woman raising children and searching for the sweetest playmate ever for her gentle kids. Francie would be a kind and respectful family member...she loves her people so much that she desires to behave to the best of her ability. She simply needs to understand what is being asked of her..once she's clear, she truly wants to comply. We think Francie would be very successful in positive reinforcement group obedience classes. She would naturally bond with her family while learning skills that will make her a well-trained member of the community. She desires be a long-term best friend who will always be waiting at the door with a happy tail and a kiss of greeting. Francie will fit in with a family or individual that enjoys outdoor adventures..she loves the sunshine and would be overjoyed with a fenced yard or a sunny porch. She is more than happy to engage in anything her guardian has in mind ...and smiles with joy at being included. We feel Francie would thrive in a family that includes their dog in their lives. We feel strongly that leaving her alone at home for many, many hours wouldn't work for this sensitive girl. She's so pleasant...and would be just about perfect with the benefit of positive reinforcement group training classes. We would love a family that would give Francie the benefit of this type of socialization. She would truly be a gift to anyone searching for a playful and extremely devoted best friend. Francie is currently being fostered in Denver. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Personality: High Energy
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi there, I am a sweet and cute girl called Harley! I'm a two-year-old lab mix, full of energy and affection, and I love giving hugs and kisses. I am already totally house broken and crate trained, I don't stray from my yard at all (which my foster Mom seems to like), and my foster Mom is teaching me how to walk on a leash! Oh, the joys of this new life as a rescued dog! I know a few basic commands, but would really like some more training so I can be even smarter! If you are a hiker, I think I would make a great hiking companion. I have varied reactions to other dogs, and at my foster home, I live with a dog who is older and not as ... (Read More)energetic as I am - I'm starting to settle into this relationship, but I think I might do better in a home where I'm the only dog, or maybe with a dog that has the same high energy levels as I do. I haven't been introduced to cats yet, so I can't really say yay or nay at this point - I might be willing to give it a go! I would love a new home, with an attentive family, who will give me constant reassurance, love, and guidance. I will love you more than you can imagine! If you'd like to meet me, please fill out the online app today! If you would like to meet me, please fill out an application!     Clyde Labrador Retriever Male 2 years old 100 lbs. Hey you - happy human! It's me, Big Clyde! Want to play?! I got these fresh tennis balls here ... Or we could play some tag, or hide and seek? If you don't want to play right now, how about I just hop up and snuggle with ya on the couch? Clyde likes everyone and everyone likes Clyde! I'm Big Clyde, and I'm a big lug. My foster family compares me to Baby Huey the duck - I'm a whole lotta silly and sweet. Great things come in BIG packages! I love everyone I meet, and by love I mean capital L-O-V-E! Sometimes I get so excited that I forget my manners and can't help but hug and kiss all ... (Read More)these awesome people I meet. I'm a smoocher! I grew up in a family where I always had to ask for affection, so I'm not shy about tellin' you it's time for some ear scratches! I like every person I meet - big or small - but sometimes my size and goofball energy can be a bit overwhelming for the little ones. (I still love 'em though!) I don't know any cats, but they seem like a good time - for chasing! If you have dogs, I want to meet them. I bet we will get along great! It's all love over here! As for training, I'm learning more every day about knowing my size, walking on the leash, and practicing basic tricks to impress the humans. I like my crate alright. Of course, I'd rather be chewing up a toy in the living room, but I know you gotta bring home the kibble, so we can make a plan for that. Speaking of kibble, I prefer my meals family-style; I want my humans around while I eat. It's just nice to feel like a pack. Aw, shucks - there I go again getting all lovey-dovey. What can I say, I'm a LOVER! I'm taking applications for my new forever family! So talk to adopt@pawscoadoptions.org or fill out an application on the website, so we can set up a date! (Less)

Penny is a very sweet and loving dog who loves to cuddle and will sleep next to you all night. She loves her heated blanket and is usually very calm and submissive. She loves other animals, both cats and dogs, once she gets to know them. She is small but very healthy and has never given us any problems. She is not properly potty trained but easily trainable; we just don't have the time and resources to train her. Penny is very easy to fall in love with and she deserves a nice home with caring owners and people who can give her the time she needs to be trained.

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Low Energy, Submissive
Health: Vaccinations Current

Talia is an affectionate and snuggly Chihuahua recently rescued from a shelter in Kansas. We don't know how she ended up there, but fear she was in a less than ideal situation for the first three years of her life. She is settling into her foster home and gets along with adults and other small dogs although she is timid at first. She has not been around children or large dogs, but her foster mom thinks she would get along well with older children and easy-going large dogs. Talia is currently not motivated by food. Perhaps she will be in the future when she becomes more comfortable with her surroundings. She is taken out every few hours to ... (Read More)relieve herself on grass but has not yet learned to use the doggie door. She wants to be right near her humans and feels a sense of security the closer she is, but she doesn't have separation anxiety when you leave the house. She needs a forever home that embraces her few insecurities, but works with her to develop the self confidence that she deserves. She has become less and less nervous with every new day she has in a healthy environment. Just a 10 minute walk helps her relax for the day and she loves being on parade in the neighborhood in her new pink collar. If you're looking for an affectionate and grateful to be loved lap dog this is the dog for you! If you'd like to meet Talia, please fill out the online app today!     'Weezy' is a sweet girl who just needs someone to love her. She has been raised with cats, dogs, ferrets and she's good with older kids just not grabby or screamy little ones. She loves being outdoors but is lazy to the bone, only real motivator for her is food so she's not the hiking Pikes Peak type, more of the leisurely porch sitting type. She is trained in the basic commands but pulls constantly on the leash. She is very timid around new people and loud noises which is what makes rehoming her so challenging, but once she warms up she's a great dog.

Meet our new rescue pup, Petunia! She is a Chihuahua mix who is about 6 months old and weighs about 5 pounds. She is a sweetheart and still a young puppy who is in need of training of all sorts: in the house and crate, on the leash and basic commands. Her foster parents are starting with 'Sit' currently. They suggest a puppy training class for Petunia would be fantastic for her social skills and progress. She is food and treat-motivated, and loves to chew on toys, bones and sticks. She accepts treats rather well for her young age. Petunia is an adorable little girl who loves to play, be petted and snuggle! She likes to chew on your hands ... (Read More)when playing, but when she's directed towards a chew stick or toy... she loves that too! Petunia is friendly and easy-going. Her foster parents haven't heard her bark yet! Pointer Mix    Age: Adult

Hey, you clicked on my picture, and that must mean you like me already! My name is Scout, and I am a 6-year-old Pointer mix. I was rescued from a shelter in Texas, and my current foster Mom describes me as a real lover! The absolute best thing ever, is having my ears and head scratched, so you can do that to me anytime! Here are some other things I LOVE: going for walks, playing with people and other dogs, chasing balls, and I will oh-so-subtly let you know I would like to be petted by leaning against your legs (cute right?). Did I mention I love having my ears and head scratched? I love it a LOT! When my foster Mom wants to take me for a ... (Read More)walk, she says 'let's go for a sniff,' because apparently, the Pointer in me is pretty strong and I like to stop and sniff everything - there is seriously a lot of good smelling to be done out there! I don't mind tooting my own horn a little, I'm pretty good on a leash (please watch out for bunnies, I have a tendency to like them a little too much!), I know how to 'sit' and 'stay,' I don't climb up on the couch, and I am a people-pleaser (I try to be a 'good boy!'). When someone comes to the door, I will bark to let you know. I am super sweet, and would be so very happy in a home with female adults only. I get along well with other dogs, and do well with children, but I have a fear of men, and am a tad insecure. I didn't get the right attention from my previous owners, so I'm hoping my new owner will provide me with the stability, leadership, and routine I need to get feeling more secure. I was so used to my sister being the 'dog in charge,' and she is in another foster home, so I miss her leadership and I'm looking to my current foster mom to be the new leader. If you are a female with a strong, capable, and confident personality, we might be the perfect match! If you'd like to meet me, please fill out the online app today! Rescue Me ID: 14-08-13-00049Molly (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Meet our new rescue dog, Molly! She was recently busted out of a shelter in Texas where her time was up with her buddy, Scout! Molly is enjoying being in foster care in Colorado where she can be in a home again and get regular walks, love, and attention. Molly is waiting for her forever home where she can spend her senior years being treated like the queen she is! Molly is a nine year old Boxer/American Staffordshire Terrier mix who loves adults and kids. She is house trained and knows the commands 'Sit' and 'Down' (lay down). She is very good on car rides and is tolerant during bath time, as she simply stands still to be cleaned. She loves ... (Read More)to go for walks and walks well on an easy harness, and doesn't pull. Molly is fun-loving and bounces all around when she's excited! Her foster mom got cheese out of the fridge, and Molly started bouncing up and down like like a jumping bean! She is very food-motivated. Her foster mom has the nickname 'chompers' for her, because when food comes out, Molly makes a chomping noise to let you know she wants some, too! Molly is sweet, playful and friendly towards humans, and she likes to cuddle, too! One of her favorite things is belly rubs. She submissively rolls over for lots of belly rubs! She is an active, dominant female who would love to be an only-dog, though she has had a male dog-pal in the past. Molly needs slow introductions with submissive dogs if she is going to be in a home with one. Molly will make a special someone very happy! She has quite a bit of energy for her age and acts (and looks) much younger than she is. Molly would love to experience the Rocky Mountains on a hike or a camping trip for her first time with her new best friend! Could that be you? If you'd like to meet Molly, please fill out the online app today!     Harley is a great dog. We adopted him and have had him since he was a little over three months old. However, he has anxiety that we've not been able to overcome. We took him to training and tried to crate train him (for he chews up the house if he is not crated) and he panics in his crate - sweat, barking, clawing. We do love him, he just has a on of pup energy like we've never seen with our other dogs. He needs a VERY large yard to run in and it needs to be enclosed with a high fence as he can scale anything less than 6 feet. He is great with our other dog, always wants to play and he is adorably cute. He'll make someone a great addition.

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Samson is just the sweetest little guy ever! He loves to give kisses and snuggle with his people. He absolutely loves his family and would do anything for them but he is a little shy with strangers. He is good with dogs but I think he would do best in a household with small dogs only (as he is only 3.75 pounds). He is also good with cats, horses, small mammals and older kids. At 7 months, his potty training is coming along nicely. He also knows lots of tricks- sit, down, roll over, shake, sit pretty, and he can even walk on his hind legs! I would love to find him a forever family (with other small dogs) who can give him the training and love ... (Read More)he deserves! (Less)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Hi my name is Dagne. I'm a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. I'm about 1 1/2 years old, and weigh about 12 pounds. I was picked up by Animal Control in May and I heard them say I maybe having puppies. They started asking rescue groups to help me. They said I didn't belong in a shelter. Then a nice rescue lady said I could go stay in her group , have my puppies, and care for me and help me find a family to love me. My puppies were born and I was fully vetted. No more trying to find a trash can to eat from! I was so scared when I came to my rescue, but I soon learned how kind people can be. I still get a little scared of new people, but never like I ... (Read More)did before, cause I'm safe now. Now it's time for me to find my family who will love me and care for me. I will need someone that I can feel comfortable with. It may take me a few days to trust you, but I promise, I'm a good girl! If you would like to meet me and or adopt me, please email my rescuers at angels4paws_app@yahoo.com You'll be sent an application to fill out and return. My adoption fee is $150.00 I'm not around cats, so my rescuers don't know if I would get along with them or not. (Less)

Cairn Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

The Cairn Terrier/Border Terrier mix is a perfect combo for those who are searching for an extremely smart and loyal family dog. Of utmost importance...both breeds are famous for their great temperaments and extremely loving and snuggly ways. They're also known to be trustworthy and very kind with family members and other gentle pets. Simba is a very social being and therefore requires a certain number of neighborhood walks with socialization. At any time a fun adventure is the order of the day - count him in! These mixes are known to engage joyfully and energetically and then crash on the couch snuggling close to their favorite humans ... (Read More)and canines. Simba is an absolutely adorable and sweet guy who favors the intellect of the Cairn while taking on the very engaging qualities of the Border Terrier. Simba appears to be a non-shedding pup and will therefore require periodic baths/brushing and great nutrition to keep his coat healthy with a golden sheen. As he loses the old hair of his shelter days, Simba's coat will grow in shining and gorgeous. Simba's sweet nature is just waiting to be enjoyed and appreciated...he makes close playmates everywhere he goes. Simba is friendly and that means everyone he meets has the potential to become a close companion. You know when a loved one approaches, Simba's tail starts the greeting and it wiggles up through his entire body ending into a smile. And if your lap is available, up Simba goes to cuddle and snuggle and let you know the level of his devotion. Simba is such a wonderful being...we think he represents the best qualities of the Terrier breed. At about 8 - 10 months old and just about 9 lbs, Simba seems to have completely left behind the neglect and lack of love that made up his early life. He has become a fuzzy ball of good-will that loves to please - the happier his family is with his behavior, the more he shines with his accomplishments. We would like to see Simba in a home that includes him in family time and activities...he's loves to be involved and would thrive in a family that truly loves him and considers him a very important family member. Simba would be a wonderful companion for retirees who have the time and desire to be best friends with a truly adorable young pup. Simba doesn't require another dog to be happy...but he does enjoy his canine relationships with kind and gentle dogs. Simba will arrive on transport in Denver 8/14. Golden Retriever Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that is dismal, not the most sanitary environment and quickly runs out of space. This is the situation that Asher was put into at 7 weeks old. It's not unusual to see opportunistic breeding with Goldens and Poodles...and if all doesn't go perfectly...out they go into the street or to a high-kill shelter. Such was the case with Asher when it was found that he was allergic to fleas...and fleas in Houston in the summer is an inevitable state of affairs. ... (Read More) We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Asher...she could see that his temperament was so loving and sweet that she couldn't allow him to be euthanized. Asher was immediately brought to be vetted - he was pronounced a healthy baby who needed a clean home where fleas weren't an issue. He was brought to be fostered...and with love, soothing baths, healthy food and a spotless, insect-free spot..his skin has already started to heal with signs of peach fuzz beginning to grow. Asher will mature just as any healthy puppy and his coat will come back with the lustrous beauty of an adorable black Golden/Poo puppy. Colorado, with it's virtually insect-free environment, is custom made for this sweet guy where he'll never have to deal with flea allergies again. It turns out that Asher, at only 2 months old, is so wonderful and cooperative that it's been a fun & rewarding experience for his foster mom. He's like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around him. If Asher continues to be properly socialized, he will become a well-adjusted and devoted adult companion. If he is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, he will become a well-behaved guy who respects his people as his leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for Asher. Since he will be approximately 40 - 45 lbs when full-grown, we also feel it's very important that Asher is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. He will be a perfect size to enjoy hiking and snowshoeing in the Colorado mountains. We'd also like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Asher can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany his family just about anywhere. Asher will be arriving in Denver unfixed due to his very young age...Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to Asher's neuter, microchip and any additional puppy shots he might require. We can't determine at this point if Asher is a shedding guy. We therefore don't suggest him for a family with severe allergy concerns. Asher will arrive on transport in Denver on 8/15. If interested in this exceptional companion, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

Cesar is my green eyed baby whom I bought at 9 weeks old from a private family in Parker. He was raised to be good and around my children. However, he shows signs of aggression to my teenage son to which is why I choose to rehome him. I do have a fully 6ft fenced yard that he has learned to jump from the shed; he can and will jump very high. Cesar would be a great companion for a runner as he is very fast and full of energy.     Maxine Staffordshire Terrier/Lab Female 1 year old 60 lbs. Hi there, I'm Maxine! I know we don't know each other very well, but if you don't mind I'd love to give you a big ol' kiss! I'm a sweet, 1-year-old, 60 lb. Staffordshire Terrier/Lab mix, and while some people are 'huggers, I am definitely a kisser! I was found roaming around by myself in southern Colorado and taken to the shelter. The shelter was very scary for me, but lucky for me, the folks at PawsCo busted me out, and I'm currently happy as can be in my foster home. Sure, my frame is 60 lbs. of solid muscle, but the truth is, I'm as gentle as can be! I love playing with ... (Read More)other dogs! I'm usually pretty submissive at first, but once we get to playing, I love to jump and roll around with my furry friends! Playing is great, but I also enjoy just relaxing in my dog bed with my humans nearby. Speaking of humans- Oh how I love them! I like to follow my foster parents around and plop my head in their laps when they sit down. (Believe me, if I could fit my whole self in their laps, I would!) Living in a house is amazing, but not something I'm entirely familiar with. I've been following the lead of my canine foster siblings and learning the ropes, and I'm working on the potty-training thing and spending time in my crate. (My foster parents are confident that once I get the potty training down, I would be just fine with free roam of the house, too.) Rescue Me ID: 14-07-29-00034Tiko (male)

Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tiko came to our home a few months ago because we completely fell in love with him at the humane society. He immediately bonded with our small dog and kids. He is friendly, relaxed in his nature and is content running around the yard and interacting with the family. He has always been an outdoor dog and isn't even interested in going indoors in a hail storm. He'd rather stare up at the sky with his mouth open! Tiko is very smart and really enjoys playing 'tag' or exploring for treats. He loves going on hikes and is getting very good at walking on leash (we use a 'Gentle Leader' with him). He has been to the dog park a couple times and ... (Read More)has been aggressive toward another alpha male dog once. We are looking for a new home for Tiko. He needs a home where he can be a solid companion and have a contained yard and lots of play. We did 6 weeks of training and he is getting to be very good on-leash. He does not come well when called once he gets off-leash (especially when there are chickens around). He has killed our neighbors chickens and despite our best efforts, with kids and lots of visitors I fear there will be another day in his lifetime when the gate gets left open... Unfortunately we can't risk this with our current neighborhood. He's a very fun dog, my husband puts a harness on him and has him tow him on his skateboard through the hills... and he is very sweet. Rehoming fee $300. (what the humane society charged us for him) but negotiable to good home. Good health, up to date on shots, approx. 2 1/2 years old. Let me know if you'd like to come meet him! Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

I am an avid volunteer at Aspen Animal Shelter. I have been walking Sam for about 2 years. She hasn't had any luck getting adopted. I checked with the shelter director Seth Sachson and he said it would be okay if I sent her information to Boston Terrier websites. She isn't a hiker which people in this area are looking for. She is so loving, lots of kisses and if we sit down together she will climb right on my lap. She also loves rolling in the grass. The shelter takes great care of her but I would be so thrilled to find her a forever home where she can share her love and cuddle. I would be happy to help with relocation expenses ... (Read More)if there is someone that would be great parents to such a special dog that has stolen my heart. Below is the description that is posted on Aspen Animal Shelter's website. 'Sam is a strong, energetic, black-and white-colored, 7-year-old Boston Terrier mix with a Pit Bull which makes her larger than the average Boston Terrier. Outgoing and super friendly with everyone--adults and kids. She is a real cutie and seems very smart as she learns new commands quickly. She might be best as an only pet She is not great with other dogs.' When we walk on a leash I don't approach other dogs. She's only barked maybe 3 times at another dog as we have walk these years. I'm Dallas and I'm a 'consciously uncoupled' guy searching for a loving, dedicated Forever Family to 'consciously COUPLE' with! Now when I say 'couple', I'd love to commit to more than one creature - humans, canines, felines - I love them all! My former companions didn't have the time to care for a dog but I'm really not too much work. I love to play fetch and I sure strive to be a big dog!     From Craigslist))))Rehoming my adorable lazy chipoo, she just had a litter about 10 weeks ago and have decided to keep one of the pups, which means we sadly have to get rid of pixie. She's a lovable dog, all she does is lay around and cuddle, she's slightly skittish around new people, but I promise that all you have to do is hold her and pet her for a minute and she'll love you. She's absolutely the most cuddly dog I've ever saw and thank gosh she doesn't shed at all, she's to use doggy pads, and has been an indoor dog since we've had her. I was assured that she was up to date on shots when I got her even though there was no paperwork, I ...     Seeking a loving and patient home for 3 year old male lab mix. Sam is a very sweet dog, loves playing at the dog park and long sniff-n-stroll walks. He is calm indoors but definitely loves his walks. He doesn't chew or bark but is a digger. He loves belly rubs and can be quite the 'talker'. He does have some anxiety issues and is easily startled. However, he has never acted out when startled, just gets jumpy and needs a lot of reassurance. He is very afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks and would really like to have a place to hide, again he does not act out, just wants to get into a snug corner or under a table. He does not do well ... (Read More)off-leash and can be a little obsessed with squirrels and rabbits! He does fine with my cat, he's very curious and keeps trying to approach her quietly but understands that when she hisses he needs to back off. He is currently an only dog but would probably do well with a buddy. I do not have children but we've encountered kids at the park and he seems to like them. He knows basic obedience commands (sit, heel, leave it, come), but can be somewhat stubborn about doing them. Sam needs a kind-hearted person/people who have some experience with dogs and can give him lots of love, attention, and patience. He does fine in an apartment with very regular exercise but would love a yard. I want to find the very best home for this sweetheart and will request a reference from your vet and to do a home visit.     George is a very sweat boy. I have paperwork stating he is full blood maltese but he weighs 22 lbs so I know he has other in him. I believe Bichon. He has never had a problem with any person and actually scares me sometimes that he would go with anyone if they spoke nicely to him. He had never had an issue with any dogs unless they initiate it. He is is very friendly with dogs and the only real problem I have ever had is a neighbors yorkie that has attached him, even then he did not seem to know how to defend himself and he has never instigated it. Although he has had yearly teeth cleaning's he has very bad teeth and has lost ... (Read More)several but it does not keep him from eating dry food and many other treats. He also has been diagnosed as hypothyroid and has to take synthroid twice a day which I put in his food or a treat. The cost is only $20.00 for a 3 month supply. I have to move in to take care of a family member who is ill and they are not allowed to have pets. I do not have any family or friends who are able to take him. It breaks my heart because he is a very good boy but I have no choice. He is used to me working from home so he would do well with a like situation or with someone who is retired and can be there with him. Or another dog in the home. He does have separation anxiety and will howl if he is feeling lonely. I will post pictures soon (Less)

Havanese Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It seems that everyone loves the Havanese breed. It is actually a breed designed by humans...a combination of a Maltese, Bichon and a 3rd breed originating in Cuba. This combination of breeds has proven over and over again to be great companions and wonderful pets. Harry the Havanese, through absolutely no fault of his own, but rather some awful stroke of bad luck, ended up in a very high-kill Texas shelter. The facility is terribly overcrowded with the adoption rate far too low and therefore the euthanasia rate is extremely high. Harry was rescued at the very last second by great Texas rescuers combined with a commitment by Farfel's ... (Read More)Rescue. Harry, at 18 - 24 months old and just about 21 lbs is an exceptionally adorable Havanese! More important than Harry's great looks is his joy in simply being alive and being noticed.. He couldn't be happier or possess more positive energy than when he left the shelter. Harry would be an exceptional family member (just a bit shy initially) for active retirees who want to commit to a sweet and playful fellow. We don't feel Harry should be placed in a household with children simply because he hasn't had exposure to the high energy and loud voices of young kids. We feel his happiness would lie with a more predictable family where he could count on them being there for him and he for them. He would find so much joy with a loving and responsible family..so much so that you can count on his body to start to wiggle and wag when they're near. Harry would be overjoyed with people that enjoy hiking or similar outdoor adventures. He is more than happy to engage in a walk or play - his tail wags with joy at being included. Harry is such a pleasure to be with as he approaches the world with self-confidence and love. He would truly be a gift to any family searching for a playful and extremely devoted guy. Harry is a non-shedder and therefore will require great nutrition and periodic grooming to keep his cotton-soft coat healthy and matt-free. Harry is being fostered in Denver. Chow Chow Mix    Age: Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Red Baron Chow/Retriever mix Male 6-8 years old 45 lbs. Good day! My name is Red Baron, and I'm a man on a not-so top-secret mission to scour the skies and land for my forever family! While I may not be quite the pilot that the infamous Red Baron was, I do appreciate a good adventure when I see one! I am a 45 lb., 6-8-year-old, male Chow/Retriever mix with a handsome coat of soft, red fur, and I'll be the perfect companion for a lucky person! I'm quite a friendly guy, and I get along splendidly with other dogs. While I'm not always in the mood to play with other dogs, I'm quite content just to have their company while I bask outside in ... (Read More)the Colorado sunshine! I love meeting new people, and would do well living in a home with adults and older children (I'm not a huge fan of those little ones as my hip stiffness causes me to be a bit grumpy with small kiddos). No need to worry about those annoying puppy habits from this guy- I'm already potty-trained and do just fine with free roam of the house when my human companions are away. One of my favorite activities is going for walks around the neighborhood! There are so many fun smells, and I like to stop and take them all in. Sometimes you just gotta stop and smell the roses, am I right?! Cuddling with my humans makes me pretty happy too. I tend to think I am a lap dog, so get ready for some lovin'! Like many other brave adventurers, my past is a bit of a mystery. However, it looks like I had a severe past injury to my hips and I will be receiving hip surgery to help me feel a lot more comfortable and agile going forward! I am still available for adoption but my forever family will need to commit to helping me through my hip surgery recovery for the next two months (which includes daily exercises and lots of love and patience!) and PawsCo will take care of the full cost of the surgery and recovery. Finding my forever family will be the best adventure I could ever imagine, and I have a feeling it's right around the corner! She will make a wonderful, fun addition to a family! She will be adopted out through Rez Dawg Animal Rescue. Her adoption includes her spay, vaccines, deworming, heartworm test, and microchip.     [Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Meet Holden! Holden is thought to be a Coon or Plott Hound mix, but whatever his heritage, he is very handsome! We rescued him from being euthanized in a high-kill facility in Georgia several months ago and we are now looking for the perfect home for him. He is approximately 3 or 4 years old, neutered, up to date on all shots and microchipped! Holden is a special needs dog because he is incontinent from being abused in his past. He has permanent nerve damage in his sacral spinal cord, likely from having his tail pulled extremely hard, and can no longer control his bladder or bowels. Because of this, we ... (Read More)think Holden would be an excellent ranch/farm dog. He loves being outside, but he also loves being around people! An ideal home would be somewhere that he could roam outside and have shelter when it gets too hot or cold outside. Holden loves chew toys and really enjoys playing fetch with is frisbee (he can jump SO high to catch it!). He gets along with all other dogs, people of all ages, and even cats! If you're looking for a new addition to the family and have the heart to open your home to a special needs dog, please consider Holden! Our adoption process begins with you meeting Holden. Feel free to schedule a play date with him and your existing dog(s). After you fill out an application, we will verify your references and do a brief home inspection. If all goes well, we will deliver Holden to you for a small adoption fee. You will also have the option to purchase a large wire kennel for an additional fee. We then ask that you sign our adoption contract. We will do a follow-up visit approximately two weeks to one month after the adoption to insure that Holden is adjusting well to his new home and that he is happy and healthy. We feel our adoption process is the best way to vet good owners and to guard against people seeking dogs for dog fighting, bait dogs, and/or dog sales. We only have our rescue dogs' best interest in mind and we do everything we can to insure that they go to the very best home and that it's the perfect fit.     Jeter American Bulldog Male 1.5 years old 65 lbs Hey you! Happy human! Over dissa' way - it's me Jeter- let's play! I got these here ropes we could tug on, or howsa' bout I hop up and snuggle with ya on the couch? We could pet me, or maybe scratch my ears - everyone likes Jeter and Jeter likes everyone! I'm Jeter, and I'm a big lug. My foster family compares me to Andre the Giant - I'm a whole lotta' sweet - sometimes great things come in BIG packages too ya know?! I love everyone I meet, and by love I mean capital L-O-V-E, sometimes I forget my manners and just can't help but hug and kiss. I'm a smoocher!! I grew up in Leadville where ... (Read More)I developed a real taste for rawhide, bones, ropes, and toys of all kinds. I like every person I meet, but sometimes my size and energy can be too much love for little ones who I might overwhelm, ya know, on the size front. As much as I love humans, it is important that I be the only dog in my forever home and not interact with dogs out on walks, etc. But don't worry-I will give you so much love you won't even notice that no other dogs are around! As for manners, I'm learning more every day about knowing my size, walks on the leash, and basic tricks to impress the ladies. I like my crate enough - it's not my favorite thing but I know you gotta' bring home the kibble, so we can make a plan for that. Speaking of kibble, I prefer my meals family-style; I want my humans around while I eat. It's just nice to feel like a pack. Aw, shucks - there I go again getting all lovey-dovey. What can I say, I'm a LOVER! I'm taking applications for my new forever family; talk to pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or head on over to the website and set up a date! (Less)

Mocha Lab mix Female 2 years old 45 lbs Hi! I'm Mocha and I'm a 1-2 year-old, 45 lb., female Lab mix. My foster family says I've got great karma with sweet, pure, positive energy that I spread wherever I go. I'm not sure what this word 'karma' means, but if that's what brought me here and gave me this second chance at life with a family, then it must be a very good thing! Not much is known about my past, but I came to my foster home quite underweight. Thanks to the TLC of my foster family, I am steadily gaining some much-needed pounds, and boy is it great to have a full belly! It's also pretty great to be surrounded by people, kids, ... (Read More)other dogs and cats because I just love 'em all! I'd actually prefer a home with another dog or a kiddo because I tend to gain confidence from these types of friends in my life. I am very friendly and a huge cuddler, but I'll need my new family to be calm and patient with me, as I can be shy and scared at times. Positive reinforcement training only please- I'm such a pleaser, and I sometimes cower when I think I am in trouble and hideout when I'm worried about my environment. I've been working with a really nice trainer who has been helping me find my confidence more and more and she'd be happy to fill you in on all the details of my progress! I'm gaining confidence every day in my foster home though, and sometimes I get so happy and excited that I like to zoom as fast as I can around the backyard! I'm a simple gal, and I don't need much to make me happy. All I really need is a family who will pat my head, give me belly rubs and go slow with me and reassure me if I get scared.     ABSOLUTE charmer. ABSOLUTE lover. ABSOLUTE commitment. Hello there. I'm Jax - a 45-lb Cattle Dog/German Shorthaired Pointer mix who happens to be a black-and-white kind-of-a guy (both physically and emotionally). Speaking of black-and-white, I remind my foster mom of that comic strip character Dennis the Menance as I'm quite the sweetie-pie but can get myself into trouble when no one is looking (can't all young pups!?!). I've bounced around quite a bit in my 2-year-life and I'm looking for a human(s) who will ABSOLUTEly commit to providing me the safe, quiet life for which I yearn. While I can be a bit fearful of new people, I am an ... (Read More)amazingly sweet, attentive, loyal pup once I know you are a trusted human. In fact, my favorite passstime isn't all that dog-park craziness - it's simply relaxing with my human companion(s). Given that I find adult humans a bit intimidating, I definitely shouldn't live with any of those unpredictable human ankle-biters that you humans refer to as 'children'. When I'm not 'actively chillin' with my people, I enjoy tossing around & pouncing on my doggie toys, challenging myself with a yummy Kong-toy and munching on a ice cubes. I know how to use the doggie door, know some basic obedience commands and will go willingly into the crate (as long as I'm rewarded with a scrumptious treat!) Speaking of 'rewards', I need a human(s) who will ABSOLUTEly commit to continuing the positive reinforcement training that I'm currently receiving in my awesome foster home. The Paws & Co. folks can help introduce you to some positive reinforcement techniques (I'm very food motivated!) if you're not familiar with the term. My fear issues extend to other dogs so I probably shouldn't cohabitate with any other dogs at this time. I also have some skin allergies and need to be on a special diet - it's really no big deal but my potential human just needs to be aware (there are no secrets here!). I just know that I will make some really lucky human SO happy. Might you be the ABSOLUTEly perfect match for me? I might sound like a lot of work, but I'm ABSOLUTEly worth the investment! Please email Paws & Co. Adoptions at pawscoadoptions@gmail.com or fill out an adoption application on the website today and ask about Jax! (Less)

This is Sona. She is about 3 years old and is a pitbull mix-about 45 pounds. In January she was saved from a euthanasia list at a high kill shelter in Georgia. She arrived to Colorado covered in fleas, limping, and filthy. She was also heartworm positive. She was treated for her fleas and heartworms and was then spayed but her limp in her leg persisted. Some really nice people at Timberline Animal Hospital as well as Dr. Gall with Aspen Meadow Veterinary Specialists came together to help Sona get her orthopedic knee surgery. She is healing really well! Despite everything she has ... (Read More)been through, she has one of the best attitudes we have ever seen and she never meets a stranger. She loves people and gets along with most dogs. After her hard life, she is now looking for a family of her own! Sona is spayed, current on vaccines, dewormed, and on heartworm prevention. Adoption application, adoption contract, home check, and adoption fee applies. Feel free to meet Sona and see if she is the dog for you! (Less)

Rose came in to SoCo as a returner as her original adopter could no longer care for her and her housemate. Her best friend and housemate was adopted but that didn't damper Rose's spirits because she knows the perfect family is out there somewhere waiting for her. She is an excellent kisser but a bit shy at first. She loves to run around the yard but always comes back for some loving. Wont you allow this sweet baby to retire in your home?
