Lab Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Casper came from a high-kill shelter in Tennessee; he was brought to Colorado to find his permanent home. He is a friendly, outgoing, affectionate, and young fellow (about a year and a half old and 65 pounds)who is crate trained, good on a leash, and housebroken. He is great with children but may not be best with small ones because of his naturalexuberance. He is not aggressive in any way and gets along well with dogs, cats, and even rabbits. He would benefit from obedience training since he has not yet learned basic commands. We honestly are not sure of his breed--perhaps part Dogo Argentino? But he is one of the most good-natured dogs ... (Read More)you could ever hope to meet. He is currently at a foster home in Mead. Colorado, near I-25 and Highway 66. Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Watson is a very special dog whom we love very much! He is incredibly affectionate, sweet, and a very loving animal - he will let you hug him as long as you want! We were fostering-to-adopt, but unfortunately, Watson doesn't like to be left home alone and we are a young working couple. He would be great in a family that can be home with him, especially one with another dog to keep him company. Watson is very mellow - he goes on a run in the morning, loves walks, and LOVES car rides, but also likes to sleep around the house all day. (He's great on car rides - loves to just lean against the side with his chin on the window edge and his ... (Read More)eyes closed.) Watson doesn't 'play' very much with other dogs (he seems confused when they try to play), but he loves doggy daycare and has gotten along with every dog he's met. He has his rabies/distemper/bordatella vaccinations, is current with his heart worm prevention medication, but has not yet been microchipped. Watson is very smart - he has learned sit, down, come, 'find a spot' (aka hurry up and pee because the walk is about to end), and 'say howdy.' (voice or hand commands) He is currently working on stay, gee (turn right), haw (turn left), and come during distractions. He is excellent on a leash - needs work off of it. While the original owner said he was not good with cats, we introduced him to our cousins' cat with no problem whatsoever. Watson is very much the husky personality - very chill/mellow (though he can be a noisy drama queen during bath time), likes to talk to you in the morning, and loves with his whole heart. Please call - eight - oh - 1, 2 3 oh, 9 8 oh 8. (Less)

Cedar Corgi/Basset Hound mix Female 2 years old 46 lbs. Hey there! I'm Cedar, like the beautiful tree. Do you remember the ZZ Top song 'Legs'? Sing along with me. I'll howl it for ya: 'She's got legs! She knows how to use them. She never begs... She knows how to choose them' owwoooooooo! So here's the deal: In my wildest dreams, running through the dog park, I have long legs and a graceful gait, but the truth is, I have short little legs. I'm hound-dog proud of 'em! I'm 46 pounds of pure love and ready to be your special girl! I used to live on the Western Slope, but when my former family moved, they left me with a relative who took me ... (Read More)to the shelter. I spent lots of time outside there, and that was OK, but I'd much rather be inside with you! My foster mom says I'm friendly, goofy and sweet, with energy for long walks and maybe even a little running. I will do my best to keep up with you - short legs and all! I love being entertained and loved by humans (and I'm pretty entertaining myself), but I'm not really into toys. Sudden movements startle me a little, so some gentle handling and calm voices help me feel comfortable with new people. I'm learning so much from my foster family when it comes to house manners! Right now, I'm getting to know my crate - although I would much rather be with you, I understand that it's part of the deal until I perfect my potty training. And I'm eager to please, so hopefully that won't take long! I like other dogs, but can be a little shy at first, especially with high-energy pups. I have three canine siblings right now and we all get along great. I love to make new friends - with two legs and four. I even like cats! I chased one at my foster house once, but they're more fun to watch. Strange little whiskered creatures aren't they? Since I can be a little skittish, my foster mom says I may not be the best fit for a home with small children. I guess there can only be one shortie in the house! Gosh... I think we should get together soon so I can show you my sweetness face-to-face. I can't wait to find my forever home and be your new best friend! That's my real dream; that you'll choose ME. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-13-00385Skippy Girl (female)

Catahoula Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

They call me Skippy Girl! My friends at the dog park always talk about how awesome their families are. I love my foster mom, but I really want my very own people. The first thing to know is that I am an affectionate girl that needs an owner that likes to stay busy. I have long legs and I like to keep them moving. I'd be an excellent running partner or really your take-along dog on all of your adventures. I like to lounge too, but after a bit of exercise and with a yummy chew toy. I am a bigger girl, weighing in at nearly 65 pounds, but I have manners, so I am not 65 pounds of bull-in-a-china cabinet. I am also 65 pounds of beautiful with my ... (Read More)leg freckles, a short red, orange and white coat and my BEST features are my amber eyes and my permanent eyeliner. My tail is also an attention getter....wags constantly unless I am concentrating and then it will be curled up over my back. Okay, so we covered my looks...let's talk about my personality a little bit. I am very affectionate and I really love to spend time with all kinds of people and other pups. Getting hugs and kisses and a daily tummy rub will make my day! When I am at an adoption event, I do this really funny thing where I lean into the crate so you can pet my whole body without having to stick your hands through the holes. This is one of those smart tricks I have learned! I also know how to sit, shake paws and several other cool tricks. I bet I can learn any trick you throw my way. I love to stay busy and have fun, so an active family would be great for me. I am a good jogger, hiker, dog park participant and walker because I am super social. I'm not too social with cats, so I need to be adopted by a family that does not have one. I do not live with children, but I see them at the park and they are great back scratchers so having them around would be just fine. I would do well in any family dynamic because I am really adaptable to all situations. After all of this talk about myself, I am hopeful that you will decide to love me for the rest of my life. I have got many more years to share with someone special, so let's meet. I am healthy, spayed, current on my vaccinations, house trained and do not forget...beautiful and smart. If you are interested in adopting Skippy Girl, please fill out our online adoption application at www.CorridorRescue.org Skippy Girl currently lives in Houston, Texas and is on the network for Denver because we have several amazing volunteers that live here who help coordinate successful out-of-state adoptions. Corridor Rescue has the very fortunate ability to transport dogs to other states via the United Airlines PetSafe program. We have worked out a very cost-effective way to transport these lucky dogs to their new homes. The transport cost is $225, which includes the airline flight, a new pet travel kennel that you can keep upon arrival and the required health documents from the veterinarian. The adoption fee is $150 for all of our dogs. The grand total cost for adopting this pet including transportation to Denver Int'l Airport is $375. Chihuahua Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament

Hi there, my name is Becky and I am an 18-month old chihuahua mix. My foster mom tells me I'm beautiful, and I think that's a compliment because it makes me feel really good - I sure could get used to that kind of regular lovin'! Other new and wonderful experiences for me, are snuggling, being petted and carried around, and sleeping with my foster mom. I could stay under those warm covers all night long - in fact, I DO! - until we absolutely must get up and get going for the day. I walk well on a leash, and am currently perfecting my house training. I also respond to the commands 'Let's Go!' and 'Come here!' I can be somewhat shy at first, ... (Read More)and once I have gotten to know my person, I just love being with him or her. I am an equal-opportunity love-bug - I enjoy men, women, children, other dogs, and I've never met a cat I didn't like (I've never actually MET a cat, but I'm pretty sure we'd get along great). I am just an easy-going, sweet, well-behaved girl! I don't even bark! My main motivators are food and treats (bones are a favourite!), and I accept them pretty well. I've been on some car rides with my foster Mom, and did well. I'm not quite ready to jump in the tub for a bath - all that water and soap flying everywhere is a tad scary! I am open minded and reasonable though, so this may change with time. I'm a young pup, with low to moderate energy levels, and would be a great companion for pretty much anyone! If you'd like to meet me, please fill out the online app today! Adoption fee is $225 and covers microchip, DAPP, Rabies, Heart Worm test and spay/neuter. Adoption fees also allow us to continue saving animals. Please email ARRColorado@gmail.com for more information, as we can not accept calls at this time. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-12-00152Pine-ADOPTION PENDING (male)

Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We got emails from our Colorado rescuer about Pine...no one could accept that this gorgeous and very affectionate dog was about to be euthanized. Both the shelter and the rescuers were desperate to find a foster, rescue or adopter immediately for this Wheaten Terrier mix (or so the shelter and vets described Pine's breed mix) with the incredible temperament. Pine carries the coat with the golden beauty (in need of a bath and great nutrition..but just waiting to shine) and the general look of the Wheaten Terrier with the additional scruffiness of an Airdale. And as beautiful as Pine is on the outside, it doesn't compare with the love and ... (Read More)good-will that flows from the heart of this 18-24 month old, approximately 25 lb guy (we'll get an exact weight as soon as possible). As our rescuer drove away from the dreary, high-kill shelter, Pine was so filled with relief that he climbed into the front seat, laid his paw on Andrea's' leg, breathed a huge sigh of relief and fell fast asleep. He slept all the way to the vet's office for his assessments...and passed with flying colors! So...off Pine went to his foster home to be reminded about respectful house behavior. Pine's great foster mom commented on how sweet and laid back this handsome boy is. She considers him to be a great choice for any family...and he seems to love gentle kids and dogs. Pine also loves fun and is playful and sweet! Pine's time in foster waiting for his transport is time well spent..he appears to be bouncing back from any trauma he suffered at the shelter. We feel..as does his foster family...that with a loving, nurturing and committed home..Pine will leave his sad start far behind. With consistent leadership, Pine's natural self-confidence will emerge. He will settle into his new life with an open to anything attitude of a puppy. While he may be initially shy, once he's assured...he will emerge with all the joy that's living inside of him. Since Pine has gotten an A for sweetness, cuddling and general positive behavior...he's ready to be a devoted family member. We envision Pine in a home either with older children who can play with and love Pine with a gentle touch or in a home with active retirees who will shower time and attention on this devoted pup. We would never want Pine in a situation where she's alone for many hours. Instead we would love for him to be taken along on hikes (he would be overjoyed and a natural on the trails), adventures and visits with dog-loving friends. He's almost impossible not to fall in love with...as a young guy, Pine is a blank slate just waiting for direction to be the best adult dog he can be. Pine also travels like a champ - he loves nothing more than to come along on errands, hikes and any adventure that keeps him together with those he loves. He would also be a natural to come along on vacations or getaways...he's so pleasant with everyone that he attracts friends everywhere he goes. Pine is said to be a non-shedding pup whose coat will grow in full and soft once he gets the gift of great nutrition and regular grooming. Pine will be arriving in Denver on 9/20. If interested in this sweet guy who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-12-00065Prairie-PENDING (male)

Bearded Collie Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

There was a lot of conversation on what mix of breeds Prairie is. We finally came up with a Bearded Collie/Terrier mix...with the help of a few vets and those familiar with different dog breeds. Prairie is just about 45 lbs at approximately 18 - 24 months old and is definitely one of the cutest dogs around. His markings are so striking and his soft white hair is so bright against his charcoal markings. It seems that Prairie has been searching his entire life for a family to love him...he's just never had the good luck for that to happen. Farfel's Colorado rescuer recognized the goodness and wonderful potential that is living inside of this ... (Read More)young dog. We are committed to finding a home for Prairie that is very loving with clear and consistent boundaries. He wants to please more than anything...and is so smart that he has the ability to pick up concepts quickly - he just needs to understand what is being asked of him. His family will be one with that is overflowing with love for this dog and can understand that he's a guy who is on his journey learning about the world. This would be a perfect time to introduce Prairie to positive reinforcement obedience class. He's a blank slate just waiting to be taught the skills of excellent behavior out in the community. Prairie will most likely be just a bit shy initially...completely understandable after the challenges of his short life. We've just gotten a new foster report on Prairie that we want to share: We've fallen in love with Prairie! He's sweet, kind, cuddly and desires to be the best behaved guy on the block! He gets along perfectly with both my dog and cat as well as my 12-year old daughter. We've even spoken about adopting him...he's that wonderful! We've decided we just don't have the budget for another dog but are determined to help find Prairie the best home ever! Whoever has the great fortune to have Prairie join their family is truly getting a gem! We took him on a long hike today and he was so joyful and perfect with every dog (he's also great with cats) and human that we passed. He can go anywhere with the confidence that he'll always be sweet and well-behaved. Once Prairie bonds, there is nothing in the world that will pull him away from his person or family. His love and gratitude boils over when he knows he's safe in expressing himself. Prairie would be so happy with a family that included him on hikes, camping and backpacking trips or just a walk around the neighborhood. He would also enjoy friendships with other sweet dogs...he loves to play and cuddle with his canine friends. Prairie will never disappoint because once he understood what is expected of him, no one will ever try harder. We'd like Prairie's family to have the ability to spend good parts of their day with him. He has such great skills that he can be taken along or just hang out on the couch with his favorite people. He'd be a natural to bring along to any dog-friendly activities. he's so pleasant and engaging! Prairie is being fostered in Colorado. Applications are currently being accepted and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. If interested in this kind and devoted companion, please fill out and return to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

I would be a great companion for an older child, or person of any age, and I'd even like a play friend. I am fairly active but calm down right away.     Pebbles Chihuahua/Terrier mix Female 3 months old 6 lbs. Hey! Want to play? Want to cuddle? Let's do both! I'm Pebbles, a super cute and friendly black and white Chihuahua/Terrier mix. I was rescued by PawsCo from Grand Junction. The vet thinks I may have sustained a head injury at some point, so I'm not too sure what my life was like before I was rescued. But I have recovered just fine, and since I'm only 3 months old, I know that I have a great life ahead of me in my forever home! My foster mom says I'm a lot like Bambi - friendly, loving, and really fun! I love to play with balls and squeaky toys. I've also met some 'kids' and think ... (Read More)they're great! I like to play with other dogs but since I'm so small I tend to be submissive. I prefer my canine playmates to be gentle. I don't think I've met any cats yet, but I would like to! They are my size, after all. The best part of being in my foster home is enjoying all the cuddles and affection. However, I can get a bit shy if I'm approached directly by someone I haven't sniffed out yet. Better safe than sorry, I always say! Since I'm still just a pup, my forever family will get to train me to help me become their ideal companion! I don't have any bad habits and my foster humans are working with me on potty and crate training. I hang out in the crate when my foster family is away from the house, and I even sleep in there, too!     Hey! I'm a Chihuahua mix named Little Bear. I'm 9 years young, and so grateful to have been rescued and placed in a wonderful foster home. I'm a friendly fellow who gets along with other dogs, adults, and older children. At my intake interview they asked me about 'cats,' and my answer was 'what's a cat?' Getting there! Things I like: bones, treats, food, and playing football-fetch! I found a toy bin in my foster home and dug straight to the bottom to find the rubber football. My foster Mom throws it and I run and fetch it, over and over - fun for hours! I adore being in the same room with my person as a loyal friend and companion! I will love you a lot, and might even show my protective qualities if I think I need to. Apparently I'm going to be 'altered' in the near future, which seems like a good idea because they tell me this will help mellow my competitiveness when I'm around other unaltered male dogs. Cool!     It's hard to imagine this truly beautiful (inside & out) Schnoodle (Schnauzer/Poodle mix) in a high-kill shelter in Houston. A compassionate Farfel's rescuer saved Bo's life and is nursing his body and spirit back to joy and well-being. It's now getting to the time when Bo is ready to be transported to his new life in Colorado. Although it will be terribly hard for Bo's foster mom to say goodbye...she knows that he will have a great life. The following is a description of Bo by his foster mom: --Bo is such a sweet guy just waiting to blossom. I've enjoyed watching Bo learn that the world can be a loving and positive place. He had a hard ... (Read More)start - but now he's learning about treats, belly rubs and that he's a very valuable pup! He may very well be initially shy or frightened, but just give him a bit of time and you'll have a new best friend. Bo loves to run and play outside...he has the appropriate amount of energy for a 3.5 or so year old, 18 lb healthy pup. He would do well with a family who is home alot to hike and play with and run freely at the park - he would love that! After he's had exercise and stimulation, he's ready to chill on the couch. Bo loves to snuggle, be petted and doesn't get overly grumpy about grooming which is surprising because he had the biggest matts ever. His gorgeous, non-shedding hair will require care...a periodic grooming and great nutrition would be perfect to keep his coat as beautiful as it can be. Bo appears to be fine with other dogs but appreciates those that are respectful of his smaller size. Bo has been great with my 12 and 15 year old daughters and me!! I haven't seen him around smaller kids, so that's an unknown. He's excellent with my mom, but might be a bit energetic for an advanced senior. Bo is a truly smart pup - true to his breeds!! What a gem of a best friend for an active family who wants to include a very cute and sweet dog in their life... He has the potential to be a truly exceptional and loyal companion. Farfel's is very excited to participate in finding this special Schnoodle his forever family. Bo will be arriving on transport in Denver on 9/12. Maltese Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

It's shocking to walk down the aisle of an extremely dreary high-kill Texas shelter and see the handsome Dante. Your mind can't help but go to..how and why did this exceptional dog (both inside & out) get in this horrendous situation? It's fortunate that the awesome volunteers at this shelter do everything possible to save the lives of dogs with great temperaments. The numbers are still very sad and bring home the urgent need to spay/neuter. Dante was one of the extremely fortunate as he rode away from the shelter to a new life. Dante was never properly loved..and finally at approximately 9 - 12 months old..he is neutered and vaccinated. ... (Read More)He'll soon also have a spa day where his matted shelter hair will be groomed after a sudsy bath...he'll be so gorgeous! Dante's great Texas foster is teaching him about appropriate behavior in a home. He is very receptive and his wonderful..and sometimes silly..personality is emerging. While initially a bit shy, Dante warms up into the sweetest guy ever. He's so affectionate and cuddly..and with just a bit of encouragement, he can play with all his heart. His cottony-soft hair flies in the breeze as he plays with the doggie herd at his foster's house. Dante is very receptive and as he turns his head to give you a smile..you see his warm and sensitive eyes. He's so unusually beautiful and sweet..again the shock that he was about to be euthanized. But since all that is in the past..it's now time for Dante to have his very own forever family. His foster is working on his socialization and leash skills in preparation for Dante's trip to a very lucky Colorado family. This patient training will need to continue to make Dante the very best adult dog he can be...and there's tons of potential in this engaging little guy. We envision Dante in an involved family...he would love to walk the CO trails or play in the yard with another respectful dog and his special people. He's so positive and loving that it's impossible not to fall in love. At day's end, he'll be a super-cuddler..and once bonded..a devoted and loyal best friend. Maltipoos are non-shedders and considered to be one of the most hypoallergenic breed mixes. Dante will need periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his silky-soft hair healthy and matt-free. Dante will be arriving on transport in Denver on 9/12. If interested in this sweet pup who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

Rescue Me ID: 14-09-09-00034Cappy (male)

Yorkie Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

We often wonder what is running through people's minds when they make a decision to dump a wonderful and loving dog because he's become inconvenient...where is their heart?? Such are our thoughts with Cappy...and it's only great luck and a few loving humans who changed his destiny. Cappy was dumped in a high-kill shelter when he turned 3 and was no longer puppy-cute and novel Just in time, a compassionate rescuer happened along the way and took pity on this adorable Yorkie. To our joy, Cappy was meant to survive his ordeal and get rescued. He was immediately brought to be vetted and temperament tested and passed all with flying colors. ... (Read More)He is now safely in his foster home...being nurtured with love and hugs while being taught skills so important in the development of any dog. Capone is so over-the-top beautiful and loving - his photos absolutely doesn't do him justice! He tries so hard but we need to be reminded that he's a young guy...just about 3.5 years old and 14 lbs (perfect hiking size)... who needs to be shown the way by a patient and loving human who understands the boundaries necessary for any dog. Cappy is a willing student...with frequent socialization with both dogs and humans, he will continue along the path of a loving and well-adjusted adult dog. Positive reinforcement group training class is a great tool for family bonding as well as developing great behavior when out in the community. We are searching for an involved family for Cappy. He would love nothing more than being with his people...on their lap is a great secure spot for him. It will be dog-lovers who choose to have their dog involved in their life that would be perfect for this sweet pup. We don't want Cappy to be left behind while his people spend long hours at work or other activities. He's very portable at 14 lbs and would be a great companion for walks, riding shotgun in the car, or visiting with dog-friendly friends. Capone would be overjoyed with coming along with his person....errands, adventures or just lap-time speaks to Cappy. He just naturally has a sweet temperament..while initially a bit shy.. that is perfect for a family with older children, cats and other gentle dogs. Cappy would also do very well as an only dog...he doesn't require that relationship to be happy. He dislikes puppies climbing on him but does very well with older, quiet dogs. He'd also be great with dedicated retirees...he is so positive and affectionate that a relationship with Cappy is very easy - he really wants to please and be a devoted best friend. Cappy is either a purebred Yorkie, or just a bit of Silky Terrier, which would explain the larger 14 lb size. Cappy is a non-shedding pup and will require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep his cotton-soft coat healthy and matt-free. Cappy is currently being fostered in Boulder. If interested in setting up a Meet & Greet with this sweet guy who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. Rescue Me ID: 14-09-09-00027Kenzie (female)

Schnauzer Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

It always tug at our hearts at Farfel's when we see the young puppies that are already in desperate situations. Such was the case when Kenzie's adorable face popped up on our computer screen as 'Urgent'. How could it possibly be that this gorgeous Schnauzer mix (the shelter's opinion was Schnauzer/Border Terrier mix but a Texas vet's opinion was a small Labradoodle...we just aren't sure..she's just all cute!) was about to be euthanized? We sprang into action and were successful in rescuing Kenzie. Kenzie is a truly beautiful puppy who fortunately is too young to be affected by her time at the shelter. Since she is only 11 weeks old, ... (Read More)she's a tiny girl weighing about 5 lbs, but will be true to her breeds and most likely weigh approximately 30 lbs when full grown. Kenzie is starting off with a naturally loving and curious temperament. if treated with love and respect while having clear boundaries, she will develop into a well-balanced and very devoted companion. The reality of adopting a puppy is that they're a blank slate...they will develop into the adult dogs we teach them to be. If we housebreak and begin general training with a serious sense of commitment.... yet with an understanding that our pup ends up as loving as they are treated...we will end up with a well-balanced and devoted companion. We strongly suggest Puppy Socialization classes (offered by most trainers) to introduce Kenzie to other pups and to begin her understanding of what appropriate behavior is toward other dogs. It also teaches the beginning skills of sitting, lying down and recall. We are open to placing Kenzie in a home with older Amber is being fostered in Denver. If interested in this sweet puppy who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com.children or with an active retired couple (or individual). We would love a family that has the time and motivation to guide a puppy...and snuggle and love her as well. This requires lots of togetherness and clear messages as to what's expected. We also feel strongly that a puppy needs to be kept stimulated with frequent walks, playtime and socialization with as many humans and other dogs as possible. It is through this positive interaction that Kenzie will develop into a dog that is trustworthy around other dogs as well as children. She's so sweet and loves everyone she's ever met...Kenzie's a natural for a devoted family companion. She would be overjoyed running and playing in the Colorado mountains followed by some serious couch time with belly rubs being mandatory. Kenzie has the most beautiful white coat with touches of fawn. It's cotton-soft and will therefore require periodic grooming and great nutrition to keep it healthy and matt-free. Kenzie was considered to be too young to spay in Texas. Farfel's will be happy to take responsibility for payment for Kenzie's spaying and microchip as soon as she's old enough for the procedures. Kenzie will be arriving on transport in Denver on 9/12. If interested in this sweet pup who is full of love and personality, please fill out an application at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/ and submit to farfelsapps@gmail.com. (Less)

I am unsure of how he would be with kids. He got stitches a few months ago and did not bark or snap at the vet. I would love to know that one of my friends has him. I feed him non-gmo quality food and purified water. This sort of dog needs training and discipline, but is very loyal and faithful. Aslan is only 2 years old. He is a Dutch Shepherd. He's also incredibly beautiful...with the purest of white and striking caramel that have come out since he received a good, sudsy bath after his release from the shelter. No dog could possibly have softer hair than Boo! Boo is appropriately playful and inquisitive for his young age. He's so smart...very typical of the cross of two Terriers. He's bright and so loving...clearly having no memory of his scary start. Since Boo is just a baby, he's a blank slate just waiting for a kind and patient human to show him the way. He has all the potential in the world to be an awesome companion - he has already formed firm friendships with his foster and all his human and canine friends. Boo is so engaging and friendly! He's perfect as a Meeter and Greeter at Farfel's when he comes to work with his foster dad. He only has a wag and a smile for all who walk through the door. Stream loves children as well but we would prefer to place him in a home with older kids that can participate in a gentle yet consistent puppy training regiment. Stream will be up to date on his vetting. He was considered to be too young to be neutered in Texas. Farfel's will be happy to cover Stream's neutering/microchip costs when he gets a bit older. Stream is the product of 2 breeds that generally aren't shedders. He doesn't appear to shed at this point but due to his young age, we don't feel we can guarantee his suitability for an individual with severe allergy challenges. Stream will arrive on transport in Denver on 9/5/14.     There's nothing quite like puppy energy and silliness...and then they lie quietly on your shoulder breathing their warm baby breath. They're so pure and vulnerable that it's unbearable to think of them in a high-kill shelter! She's also incredibly beautiful...with the softest of fawn coloring with that stunning brindle muzzle. Willow is appropriately playful and inquisitive for her young age. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-28-00644Agnes (female)

American Staffordshire Terrier Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Hi I'm Agnes, aren't I the most beautiful girl you've seen? I am currently living with a loving and kind foster, while I wait for my forever home. I love to ride in the car and am a very good girl if you have to leave me for a few minutes. I am not destructive to anything in the car and will just sit and stare in the direction you went, waiting for you to return. I'm also great in my crate, thankfully my foster makes sure I go out after I eat and wake up - no exceptions! My foster Mom ways I am doing wonderfully at walking with a harness and leash, boasting that I have stopped pulling all the time. She lets me sleep in her bed, which I ... (Read More)absolutely LOVE, and she doesn't even mind my snoring. She's so awesome. I get along well with my foster siblings (one big dog, and a smaller alpha dog), and I even have a lovable human granddaughter who I enjoy loving back. I like to play ball sometimes, and can be a bit rough or aggressive, but it is always in a playful way, and am never aggressive toward any dog or person. I was starved when I got here, so I sometimes gobble my food to the point of choking. I'm getting better now that I know I will be taken care of and fed daily, so I am sure I will continue to progress in this area of insecurity. My foster has put her hand in my bowl and I have been good with her, but no one else has tried this so no guarantees at this time. I have a small frame but getting stronger and stronger - with all this good lovin' and being taken care of properly, I will get up to my proper weight and be a sturdy and stocky girl. I have been damaged emotionally and it may take me a while to trust, but I have come a long way from when I first came to live with my foster Mom a short time ago. Understandably I can have separation anxiety, and bark when she leaves the house, sometimes for quite a while. I am so lucky to have a loving foster Mom, and I know there is a lucky family out there somewhere that will make sure I am loved, safe and never hungry again. In return I will be your best friend forever once we are bonded. If you'd like to meet me, please fill out the online app today! Rescue Me ID: 14-08-28-00474Pepper/Daisy (female)

Bullmastiff Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We are very sad to be re-homing our two dogs, Pepper and Daisy. They are extremely attached to each other and must go to a home willing to take both of them. They require a large, fenced in yard and can live with children and other animals. They enjoy being outside and play hard together, but they need a home that treats them as family members, as they are very affectionate and loving towards people. Pepper is 11 months old and Daisy is 13 months. Pepper is a small Bull Mastiff mix, they believe she is mixed with an Australian Sheppard. We were told Daisy is a pure bred Yellow Lab, but she does not have papers. Pepper is very good on a ... (Read More)leash, but Daisy needs work on it. They both do well with camping and outdoor activities off-leash and know basic commands. They have lived in a home with a toddler and a cat and do extremely well with both. Pepper in up to date on all shots and has been going to the vet regularly since she was 8 weeks. Daisy was rescued recently and we do not have her medical history, so she needs to go to the vet. We think that Daisy may have been abused, but she has adjusted very well being with us. She is afraid of the vacuum and thunder. but she is getting better. She also requires a feeding schedule, as she will overeat if given the chance. We absolutely hate having to find a new home for them, but unfortunately, my husbands new job requires too much travel for us to properly care for them. We have had a pet sitter more often than not this year and we want them to have the love and attention they need. Please do not contact if you are not interested in taking both dogs. (Less)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Please say hello to Beatty! We think that Beatty is some sort of terrier/pit mix and she's probably 5+ years old. That is just a guess as she has a little grey around her muzzle but it doesn't detract from her pretty coat! She is very sweet and loves to be around people. She does well around other dogs, but she's not that great with cats. Beatty loves being outside and thoroughly enjoys hiking and hitting up the dog park with her foster mom! She does great on a leash and is house/crate trained too! Beatty's foster mom has done an amazing job training her so we know she'll make a wonderful addition to any family! Beatty was rescued from a ... (Read More)high-kill animal shelter and is eagerly awaiting her loving forever home. She was heart worm positive when she first came to us, but we have successfully treated her and she is now good to go! She is current on all vaccines, spayed, microchipped, and dewormed. Our adoption process begins with you meeting Beatty. Feel free to schedule a play date with her and your existing dog(s). After you fill out an application, we will verify your references and do a brief home inspection. If all goes well, we will deliver Beatty to you for a small adoption fee. You will also have the option to purchase a large wire kennel for an additional fee. We then ask that you sign our adoption contract. We will do a brief follow-up visit approximately two weeks to one month after the adoption to insure that Beatty is adjusting well to her new home and that she is happy and healthy. We feel our adoption process is the best way to vet good owners and to guard against people seeking dogs for dog fighting, bait dogs, and/or dog sales. We only have our rescue dogs' best interest in mind and we do everything we can to insure that they go to the very best home and that it's the perfect fit. Animal ID: 54412Willow (female)

Australian Cattle Dog Mix    Age: Adult

Compatibility: Good with Female Dogs Only, Good with Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: High Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Willow has been in our family going on 5-years now. We adopted her from the Adams County Animal Shelter when they had a special 'adoption event' at the Longmont Athletic Club on Valentine's Day, 2009. We were informed when we adopted her that this breed was needful of frequent daily exercise, dominant with other animals, and better in families with older children---- all of these points were a good 'fit' and acceptable to us, and we looked forward to being able to have Willow accompany us on hikes and bike rides for her daily exercise quotient. I said Willow is 'quirky', in that she has a personality that reflects that she had been at ... (Read More)the shelter for over a year, having been surrendered by her original owner as too problematic with young children and other animals in that household---- we also suspect that she was abused by someone in her early life, as she was frightened of garden tools (a horrifying thought!). She had obviously been kept penned-up for too much of her early life, as when we introduced her to snow, and water, she was very apprehensive at first, but delighted in each new experience as she overcame her initial caution. It has been a real joy to see her develop into a loyal, protective dog through our persistent efforts to train her at some basic obedience skills, and generous applications of loving attention. She is typical of her breed in that she is very alert and obviously smart/intelligent--- she responds well to many commands which are necessary for us to go on bike rides with her off leash, like 'wait' at street crossings, 'slow-down' when she gets a little too far ahead, 'stay close' when we pass other people/dogs on the trail. We have come to the reluctant decision that we need to find a new owner/home for Willow, as I have had some major medical events in the past year that severely limit my abilities to give her the concerted exercise she needs to stay healthy and happy. Specifically, I have had a below-the-knee amputation, and am now outfitted with a prosthetic leg, and that means that most of the exercising Willow gets is with my wife, who has her own limitations. We have come to the conclusion that because of my physical condition, we are not now able to give Willow the time and attention she really needs to thrive. (Less)

We've since had a third baby and it's really thrown our poor little Milo off. He's fallen into a pretty good fit of depression that we've tried to remedy with help from vets, animal communicators...you name it. So, after a LOT of thought and guidance, we've decided that our best option at this point is to re-home Milo. It hurts my heart to do that, but I just don't have the capacity to love him and give him the attention that he needs right now. Also, he's not great with little kids and with three kids in my life now, that's not working too well. Milo is a sweetheart of a dog - super cuddly with the potential to be really happy again!

Edgar is 9 - 12 months old and just about 25 lbs... and so kind and waggy with all the dogs and humans that he got temperament tested with. He seems to have overcome any ill feelings and appears ... (Read More)to be at peace regarding the challenges of his early life. The Beagle mix is a solid combination both physically and in stability of temperament. It is for this reason that they seem to acclimate and be outstanding family members no matter their past lives. It's safe to say that Edgar has learned to live in harmony with every kind of being...he seems to have derived a true peace from overcoming the trials of his previous life. We feel strongly that Edgar's forever family should have the motivation to continue his socialization and offer him the gift of positive reinforcement group obedience training classes. Through these clear boundaries and leadership by his humans, Edgar will emerge as a well-adjusted and very bonded companion. He's so gorgeous both inside and out that he deserves a family that appreciates the gift of his temperament and is willing to show him boundaries through love and time spent. We are searching for a very active family who has another dog(s) that Edgar can run and play with. A fenced yard is mandatory so Edgar can get his energy needs met. A day or so each week at doggie daycare would also be a great way for this pup to get his physical and social needs met. It would be people who spend lots of time at home who would provide a great forever situation for Edgar. He would enjoy the time spent together and would blossom with a family that considers their dog a valued member of their family. Edgar reportedly had very little car experience prior to his rescue%BD'%BD|.now he's growing to be a champ. Edgar will develop a stunning coat over a short period of time...through sudsy baths, consistent brushing and great nutrition..Edgar will proudly strut his stuff and show off the amazing markings on his silky-soft and healthy Beagle coat . Edgar is being fostered in Denver. Applications are currently being accepted for this exceptional companion and can be found at http://farfelsrescue.com/adoption/. Catahoula Mix    Age: Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Adults (Not Kids)
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

This wonderful little girl was rescued through Rez Dawg Rescue (www.rezdawgsrescue.org) from a high kill shelter in Gallup, NM. She is around 20-25 lbs, fully vetted (spayed, vaccinated, microchipped and dewormed), and living in foster care. She is doing well with potty training and gets along with other dogs. I think she would prefer a house that does not have children currently but could be good with them one day. She was said to be very shy and timid by shelter staff but once I approached her slowly and gave her 5 minutes to get used to me, she was licking my face, asking for pats and following me everywhere. She has not been seen to be ... (Read More)destructive at all, a great little girl! She is smaller than a Catahoula but bigger than a dachshund, has the Catahoula build (so hopefully less likely to have back problems, can jump like one too) but has a dachshund face. (Less)

Dachshund Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Needs to be Spayed, Vaccinations Current

We all know how we get that awww feeling when we see an adorable young puppy. They're so new and fresh with every possibility open to them. That's the case unless they're in a high-kill shelter that quickly runs out of space. We're so grateful for the efforts of our great Texas rescuer in saving Rose and her sister Dahlia...she could see that their temperaments were so kind and calm that she couldn't allow them to be euthanized. Rose is the kind of very endearing puppy that will lie in your arms and give a periodic loving kiss... couldn't be sweeter. Rose was immediately brought to be vetted and was brought to a great Houston foster home ... (Read More)to receive pure love and begin her education. It turns out that Rose, at only 8 weeks old and 7 lbs (expected to be approximately 15 lbs when full-grown) is very calm and yet so puppy silly that it's become a fun and rewarding experience for her foster mom. Rose's like a blank slate...open and curious about everything around her and she's incredibly entertaining when she gets going. If Rose continues this regimen of socialization that promotes positive relationships with other dogs and bonding with humans...she will become a well-adjusted and very bonded companion. Rose is a gorgeous long-haired Doxie mix puppy (although we can't see anything but Doxie, we assume there's a bit of something else in there) with a shining coat that speaks of good health. Her calm demeanor is just who she is...she just appears to be more analytical than your average crazy puppy. If Rose is treated kindly with clear behavioral guidelines, she will become a well-adjusted girl who respects her people as her leaders. This is the kind of family we're searching for for Rose. We also feel it's very important that Rose is provided with exercise and mental stimulation. She would be overjoyed with walking along Colorado paths and enjoying the sunshine. We'd like a family who spends lots of time at home and chooses to include a fuzzy companion in their activities. Rose can be taught that the car is a fun place that leads to great adventures out in the community and can therefore accompany her family just about anywhere. Rose will be arriving in Denver unfixed due to her very young age...Farfel's will be happy to cover all costs in regard to Rose's spay, microchip and any additional puppy shots she might require. We can't determine at this point if Rose is a shedder. Lots of sudsy baths and serious brushing combined with great nutrition will keep this puppy's coat healthy and silky-soft. Rose will be arriving on transport in Denver on 8/22/2014. Beagle Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

It seems that everyone loves Beagles and Beagle mixes (they rank in the top 5 of the most popular breeds). We do...especially if they're as sweet and so very loving as Francie . She was acknowledged at a high-kill Texas shelter for having a great personality and being so wonderful to love on and cuddle. This recognition is a tough feat considering this facility holds up to 500 dogs with a very high daily turn-in rate. Francie, at 2.5 - 3 years old and just about 14 lbs is an exceptionally beautiful Beagle. You can tell when you look into her golden eyes that her short life has held sadness and challenges..but she would never be one to ... (Read More)carry that around. Francie absolutely loves women (and grows to love men as well) While initially very shy...give her a moment! Francie's great energy makes you melt. As she trusts more and more and before you know it, this gorgeous Beagle is in your lap letting you know you are her number 1 love! We can't think of a better or more devoted companion for a retired female or a woman raising children and searching for the sweetest playmate ever for her gentle kids. Francie would be a kind and respectful family member...she loves her people so much that she desires to behave to the best of her ability. She simply needs to understand what is being asked of her..once she's clear, she truly wants to comply. We think Francie would be very successful in positive reinforcement group obedience classes. She would naturally bond with her family while learning skills that will make her a well-trained member of the community. She desires be a long-term best friend who will always be waiting at the door with a happy tail and a kiss of greeting. Francie will fit in with a family or individual that enjoys outdoor adventures..she loves the sunshine and would be overjoyed with a fenced yard or a sunny porch. She is more than happy to engage in anything her guardian has in mind ...and smiles with joy at being included. We feel Francie would thrive in a family that includes their dog in their lives. We feel strongly that leaving her alone at home for many, many hours wouldn't work for this sensitive girl. She's so pleasant...and would be just about perfect with the benefit of positive reinforcement group training classes. We would love a family that would give Francie the benefit of this type of socialization. She would truly be a gift to anyone searching for a playful and extremely devoted best friend. Francie is currently being fostered in Denver. Lab Mix    Age: Young Adult

Hi there, I am a sweet and cute girl called Harley! I'm a two-year-old lab mix, full of energy and affection, and I love giving hugs and kisses. I am already totally house broken and crate trained, I don't stray from my yard at all (which my foster Mom seems to like), and my foster Mom is teaching me how to walk on a leash! Oh, the joys of this new life as a rescued dog! I know a few basic commands, but would really like some more training so I can be even smarter! If you are a hiker, I think I would make a great hiking companion. I have varied reactions to other dogs, and at my foster home, I live with a dog who is older and not as ... (Read More)energetic as I am - I'm starting to settle into this relationship, but I think I might do better in a home where I'm the only dog, or maybe with a dog that has the same high energy levels as I do. I haven't been introduced to cats yet, so I can't really say yay or nay at this point - I might be willing to give it a go! I would love a new home, with an attentive family, who will give me constant reassurance, love, and guidance. I will love you more than you can imagine!     Talia is an affectionate and snuggly Chihuahua recently rescued from a shelter in Kansas. She has settled in great to her foster home and gets along with adults and other small dogs although she is timid at first. She has not been around children or large dogs, but her foster mom thinks she would get along well with older children and and easy-going large dogs. Once comfortable in her surroundings she is very motivated by food and has learned to sit and twirl for treats. She will even smile for you when spoken to like a baby. She is taken out every few hours to relieve herself on grass but has not yet learned to use the doggie door. She ... (Read More)walks great on a leash and enjoys walking with her foster doggie siblings everyday. She plays great with other small dogs and likes to zoom around the yard in a game of tag, roll in the grass, and bask in the sunshine. She has a unique coat that is as soft as a rabbit and she doesn't shed!...perfect for lots of lap warming and cuddling. She adores her foster mom like mad, though it took several days for her to learn to trust her new temporary family. She needs a forever home without a lot of people coming and going and one or two humans that she can bond deeply with.     'Weezy' is a sweet girl who just needs someone to love her. She has been raised with cats, dogs, ferrets and she's good with older kids just not grabby or screamy little ones. She loves being outdoors but is lazy to the bone, only real motivator for her is food so she's not the hiking Pikes Peak type, more of the leisurely porch sitting type. She is trained in the basic commands but pulls constantly on the leash. She is very timid around new people and loud noises which is what makes rehoming her so challenging, but once she warms up she's a great dog.

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Meet our new rescue pup, Petunia! She is a Chihuahua mix who is about 6 months old and weighs about 5 pounds. She is a sweetheart and still a young puppy who is in need of training of all sorts: in the house and crate, on the leash and basic commands. Her foster parents are starting with 'Sit' currently. They suggest a puppy training class for Petunia would be fantastic for her social skills and progress. She is food and treat-motivated, and loves to chew on toys, bones and sticks. She accepts treats rather well for her young age. Petunia is an adorable little girl who loves to play, be petted and snuggle! She likes to chew on your hands ... (Read More)when playing, but when she's directed towards a chew stick or toy... she loves that too! Petunia is friendly and easy-going. Her foster parents haven't heard her bark yet! She did well in the car. Petunia was surrendered to a shelter and seems to be as happy and as spunky as a puppy should be! If you'd like to meet Petunia, please fill out the online app today! Adoption fee is $350 and covers microchip, DAPP, deworming and spay/neuter. Pointer Mix    Age: Adult

Hey, you clicked on my picture, and that must mean you like me already! My name is Scout, and I am a 6-year-old Pointer mix. I was rescued from a shelter in Texas, and my current foster Mom describes me as a real lover! The absolute best thing ever, is having my ears and head scratched, so you can do that to me anytime! Here are some other things I LOVE: going for walks, playing with people and other dogs, chasing balls, and I will oh-so-subtly let you know I would like to be petted by leaning against your legs (cute right?). Did I mention I love having my ears and head scratched? I love it a LOT! When my foster Mom wants to take me for a ... (Read More)walk, she says 'let's go for a sniff,' because apparently, the Pointer in me is pretty strong and I like to stop and sniff everything - there is seriously a lot of good smelling to be done out there! I don't mind tooting my own horn a little, I'm pretty good on a leash (please watch out for bunnies, I have a tendency to like them a little too much!), I know how to 'sit' and 'stay,' I don't climb up on the couch, and I am a people-pleaser (I try to be a 'good boy!'). When someone comes to the door, I will bark to let you know. I am a great running partner, I just trot along side my foster Mom very happily (although I do need to have a few sniffs before we begin). I am super sweet, and would be so very happy in a home with female adults only. I get along well with other dogs, and do well with children, but I have a fear of men, and am a tad insecure. I didn't get the right attention from my previous owners, so I'm hoping my new owner will provide me with the stability, leadership, and routine I need to get feeling more secure. I was so used to my sister being the 'dog in charge,' and she is in another foster home, so I miss her leadership and I'm looking to my current foster mom to be the new leader. Rescue Me ID: 14-08-13-00053Petunia (female)

Chihuahua Mix    Age: Young Puppy

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Good w/ Most Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Rescue Me ID: 14-08-13-00049Molly (female)

Boxer Mix    Age: Senior

Compatibility: Good w/ Male Dogs Only, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Molly is learning the basics well. She knew 'sit, down, eat, treat & walk' and has learned 'back, up, off, and no/yes/stay'in verbal & ASL. She's a very bright girl. She has also learned how to catch treats mid-air... a trick, completely foreign to her just a week ago. Old dog... new trick(s). Myth busted! Molly sleeps on a couch all night with no problems. She can be trusted in the home, alone, without a crate. She has no food/toy/attention aggression with people. She has a quiet, brief bark (truly!) that's only heard if a new loud noise spooks her, but she is learning that many city noises are OK and normal. She is eager to go for walks ... (Read More)& puts her funny pants on anytime she thinks it may be walk time! One look at the leash & she's on cloud nine! On walks, she is mindful & easily managed on a standard harness. Other dogs only really excite her when they are in her personal space. Dog parks are not for Molly. Molly prefers human females to males. She is submissive to all adults, but especially men. Hovering motions above her and quick movements around her can cause her to cower, but she is making good progress in understanding things are good - and that she is good :) She loves belly rubs and will snuggle with you most any time. Molly may thrive with a larger, male dog in her life, but seems content to also have the house to herself. Molly would love a home without smaller animals, cats, or other female dogs. She is an alpha-female, though you'd never know it in the absence of other pets. Molly will walk all day long, or will sleep all day long... she's easy to please. If you'd like to meet Molly, please fill out the online app today! Boxer Mix    Age: Puppy

Harley is a great dog. We adopted him and have had him since he was a little over three months old. However, he has anxiety that we've not been able to overcome. We took him to training and tried to crate train him (for he chews up the house if he is not crated) and he panics in his crate - sweat, barking, clawing. We do love him, he just has a on of pup energy like we've never seen with our other dogs. He needs a VERY large yard to run in and it needs to be enclosed with a high fence as he can scale anything less than 6 feet. He is great with our other dog, always wants to play and he is adorably cute. He'll make someone a great addition.

Hi my name is Dagne. I'm a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix. I'm about 1 1/2 years old, and weigh about 12 pounds. I was picked up by Animal Control in May and I heard them say I maybe having puppies. They started asking rescue groups to help me. They said I didn't belong in a shelter. Then a nice rescue lady said I could go stay in her group , have my puppies, and care for me and help me find a family to love me. My puppies were born and I was fully vetted. No more trying to find a trash can to eat from! I was so scared when I came to my rescue, but I soon learned how kind people can be. I still get a little scared of new people, but never like I ...     Cesar is my green eyed baby whom I bought at 9 weeks old from a private family in Parker. He was raised to be good and around my children. However, he shows signs of aggression to my teenage son to which is why I choose to rehome him. I do have a fully 6ft fenced yard that he has learned to jump from the shed; he can and will jump very high. Cesar would be a great companion for a runner as he is very fast and full of energy.     Hi, I go by the name Ingelbert, I have a cute and quirky personality to match! I'm about 5 years old, 11lbs, and was recently vaccinated and neutered. I could get used to all this 'getting taken care of!' Sociable? Absolutely! I like other dogs and kids, and I have a feeling I would like cats too because I walked right on by a neighbourhood cat the other day with no problem! I am a serious snuggler and am a-ok with being handfed (I wasn't kidding - I LOVE being pampered!). I have no food aggression, and will take treats gently. I have some trouble taking larger items, so it is possible I'm missing some teeth in the back of my mouth. I have ... (Read More)some minor inverted sneezing allergies, and prior to being neutered I felt a need to mark my territory, but they say that is likely to change now. My people will keep your people posted! I walk kinda 'sideways,' which my foster thinks is so silly and cute (I was aiming for charming, but I will take silly and cute because I love a compliment as much as the next dog!). Siberian Husky Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good with Most Dogs, Good with Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

Tiko came to our home a few months ago because we completely fell in love with him at the humane society. He immediately bonded with our small dog and kids. He is friendly, relaxed in his nature and is content running around the yard and interacting with the family. He has always been an outdoor dog and isn't even interested in going indoors in a hail storm. He'd rather stare up at the sky with his mouth open! Tiko is very smart and really enjoys playing 'tag' or exploring for treats. He loves going on hikes and is getting very good at walking on leash (we use a 'Gentle Leader' with him). He has been to the dog park a couple times and ... (Read More)has been aggressive toward another alpha male dog once. We are looking for a new home for Tiko. He needs a home where he can be a solid companion and have a contained yard and lots of play. We did 6 weeks of training and he is getting to be very good on-leash. He does not come well when called once he gets off-leash (especially when there are chickens around). He has killed our neighbors chickens and despite our best efforts, with kids and lots of visitors I fear there will be another day in his lifetime when the gate gets left open... Unfortunately we can't risk this with our current neighborhood. He's a very fun dog, my husband puts a harness on him and has him tow him on his skateboard through the hills... and he is very sweet. Rehoming fee $300. (what the humane society charged us for him) but negotiable to good home. Good health, up to date on shots, approx. 2 1/2 years old. Let me know if you'd like to come meet him! Boston Terrier Mix    Age: Adult

I am an avid volunteer at Aspen Animal Shelter. I have been walking Sam for about 2 years. She hasn't had any luck getting adopted. I checked with the shelter director Seth Sachson and he said it would be okay if I sent her information to Boston Terrier websites. She isn't a hiker which people in this area are looking for. She is so loving, lots of kisses and if we sit down together she will climb right on my lap. She also loves rolling in the grass. The shelter takes great care of her but I would be so thrilled to find her a forever home where she can share her love and cuddle. I would be happy to help with relocation expenses ... (Read More)if there is someone that would be great parents to such a special dog that has stolen my heart. Below is the description that is posted on Aspen Animal Shelter's website. 'Sam is a strong, energetic, black-and white-colored, 7-year-old Boston Terrier mix with a Pit Bull which makes her larger than the average Boston Terrier. Outgoing and super friendly with everyone--adults and kids. She is a real cutie and seems very smart as she learns new commands quickly. She might be best as an only pet She is not great with other dogs.' When we walk on a leash I don't approach other dogs. She's only barked maybe 3 times at another dog as we have walk these years.     Sox, or Soxi as I like to call him, is a very sweet boy! He LOVES people. He has never been around younger children, so his behavior with them is unknown. He also prefers to be the only animal in the household. He is completely potty and house-trained. He does not chew or dig. His favorite thing to do is take naps on his doggie bed.     Seeking a loving and patient home for 3 year old male lab mix. Sam is a very sweet dog, loves playing at the dog park and long sniff-n-stroll walks. He is calm indoors but definitely loves his walks. He doesn't chew or bark but is a digger. He loves belly rubs and can be quite the 'talker'. He does have some anxiety issues and is easily startled. However, he has never acted out when startled, just gets jumpy and needs a lot of reassurance. He is very afraid of thunderstorms and fireworks and would really like to have a place to hide, again he does not act out, just wants to get into a snug corner or under a table. He does not do well ... (Read More)off-leash and can be a little obsessed with squirrels and rabbits! He does fine with my cat, he's very curious and keeps trying to approach her quietly but understands that when she hisses he needs to back off. He is currently an only dog but would probably do well with a buddy. I do not have children but we've encountered kids at the park and he seems to like them. He knows basic obedience commands (sit, heel, leave it, come), but can be somewhat stubborn about doing them. Sam needs a kind-hearted person/people who have some experience with dogs and can give him lots of love, attention, and patience. He does fine in an apartment with very regular exercise but would love a yard. I want to find the very best home for this sweetheart and will request a reference from your vet and to do a home visit. While I may not be quite the pilot that the infamous Red Baron was, I do appreciate a good adventure when I see one! I love meeting new people, and would do well living in a home with adults and older children (I'm not a huge fan of those little ones as my hip stiffness causes me to be a bit grumpy with small kiddos). No need to worry about those annoying puppy habits from this guy- I'm already potty-trained and do just fine with free roam of the house when my human companions are away. One of my favorite activities is going for walks around the neighborhood! There are so many fun smells, and I like to stop and take them all in. Sometimes you just gotta stop and smell the roses, am I right?! Cuddling with my humans makes me pretty happy too. I tend to think I am a lap dog, so get ready for some lovin'! Like many other brave adventurers, my past is a bit of a mystery. However, it looks like I had a severe past injury to my hips and I will be receiving hip surgery to help me feel a lot more comfortable and agile going forward! I am still available for adoption but my forever family will need to commit to helping me through my hip surgery recovery for the next two months (which includes daily exercises and lots of love and patience!) and PawsCo will take care of the full cost of the surgery and recovery.     [Read About Natural Incontinence Care] Meet Holden! Holden is thought to be a Coon or Plott Hound mix, but whatever his heritage, he is very handsome! We rescued him from being euthanized in a high-kill facility in Georgia several months ago and we are now looking for the perfect home for him. He is approximately 3 or 4 years old, neutered, up to date on all shots and microchipped! Holden is a special needs dog because he is incontinent from being abused in his past. He has permanent nerve damage in his sacral spinal cord, likely from having his tail pulled extremely hard, and can no longer control his bladder or bowels. Because of this, we ... (Read More)think Holden would be an excellent ranch/farm dog. He loves being outside, but he also loves being around people! An ideal home would be somewhere that he could roam outside and have shelter when it gets too hot or cold outside. Holden loves chew toys and really enjoys playing fetch with is frisbee (he can jump SO high to catch it!). He gets along with all other dogs, people of all ages, and even cats! If you're looking for a new addition to the family and have the heart to open your home to a special needs dog, please consider Holden! Our adoption process begins with you meeting Holden. Feel free to schedule a play date with him and your existing dog(s). After you fill out an application, we will verify your references and do a brief home inspection. If all goes well, we will deliver Holden to you for a small adoption fee. You will also have the option to purchase a large wire kennel for an additional fee. We then ask that you sign our adoption contract. We will do a follow-up visit approximately two weeks to one month after the adoption to insure that Holden is adjusting well to his new home and that he is happy and healthy. We feel our adoption process is the best way to vet good owners and to guard against people seeking dogs for dog fighting, bait dogs, and/or dog sales. We only have our rescue dogs' best interest in mind and we do everything we can to insure that they go to the very best home and that it's the perfect fit. If you are interested, have questions, or need more information, just respond to this advertisement or call/text (214) 771-2475 or (214) 418-6037. Please, no calls/texts after 10pm. (Less)
